CHAPTER 8

TRIS POV

Tobias and I are trying to push people out of our way, inching through the crowd, to get to where our friends are.

Luckily Zeke sees us and starts yelling.

"EVERYBODY MOVE OUT OF FOUR AND TRIS'S WAY! IF YOU DON'T THERE WILL BE SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES!" He smirks and everyone moves out of our way, holding their hands up.

"Tris, I love the dress" Christina slurs.

She is obviously drunk.

"Yeah me too, just a little too fancy." I tell her.

She hands me a beer and I just look at her.

"Drink it Tris, unwind." She says.

I shake my head and hand it back to her.

We all dance around for a bit until sirens start going off.

I look around. These noises aren't good. These are the noises that car accidents have afterwords. Theses are the sounds that pretty much 'killed' my parents.

I start to freak out. I cover my ears with my hands and sink to the ground. I keep on telling myself that it'll be okay. It'll be okay. That it'll be okay. But what if it isn't.

I get hit with a wave of dizziness and now I am on my knees. Everyone else appears calm like this happens all the time, but why would this happen?

I feel hands pick me up and place me on my feet, but I am too weak, so of course, my knees give out on me.

Luckily, the person catches me and brings me closer to them. I would open my eyes, but I am too scared that someone is going to be dead.

"Tris." I hear someone say.

I just shake my head.

"Tris its okay. They're just using sirens to make everyone, well you know shut up." He-- I think Tobias says.

"HEY URIAH! TURN OFF THE SIRENS PLEASE!"

The sirens abruptly stop and I slowly open my eyes and uncover my ears. I look around and see that everyone is staring at me with either worried glances or 'I'm crazy' looks.

The only one who has a different reaction is -- I think her name is Lauren. She looks angry. I wonder why.

The girls had warned me to stay far away from her as possible. Maybe it's because she's mean?

I look up at Tobias and see he has that worried look in his eye just like when he found out about Marcus.

"GO BACK TO PARTYING! IT'S FINE NOW! Tobias yells.

He motions to Zeke and he starts the music again.

"BEFORE I FORGET! IF I OR MY GROUP HAS NEVER TALKED TO YOU, GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!"
Uriah yells.

"Let's go upstairs." He says motioning behind me to the stairs.

I nod and he puts his arm around my waist and helps me up to one of the bedrooms.

"Tris what happened down there?"

He asks while setting me down on the bed.

"I don't know. I just..... I just..... The sirens... They reminded me of that... that night. I guess I had a nervous breakdown."

"It's okay. I understand. But you don't have to worry about that anymore. That will never happen again."

"You don't know that."

"Yes I do."

"Yeah and how do you."

"Because I'm here. Nothing bad will happen cause I'm right here."

I smile and hear Uriah announce that the games are about to start.

We start to get up when Tobias offers me his help. I shake my head no. I can't let people think I'm weak.

We go downstairs and I see that the house has emptied out. The only people left is Christina, Marlene, Shauna, Uriah, Zeke, Will, Tobias, Al, Lauren, Molly, Drew, Eric, and Peter.

Gulp. Eric and Peter.

Will and Marlene call us over to where they are sitting and Zeke announces to sit in a circle.

I sit down in between Tobias and Shauna and Uriah and Zeke start to explain what we are doing.

"We were going to play Never Have I Ever, Spin the Bottle, and Bean Boozled, but we're running out of time, so let's just play truth or dare." Zeke says.

We all nod and Uriah and Zeke start yelling about who should get to go first.

"Hey! I know a solution!" I say.

The both look at me.

"Who watches Doc McStuffins!" I ask.

"ME ME ME!!!!! I DO I DO I DO!" Uriah yells

"YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY THE COOLEST ONE HERE, SO YOU GO FIRST!" I yell.

"HA!" He yells in Zeke's face.

I roll my eyes and Uriah looks around evilly for who he is going to pick on.

"Christina. Truth or dare."

"Truth." She says confidently.

"PANSYCAKE!" Uriah yells.

"Who do you like?" He asks her.

She looks down at her feet and blushes.

"What's the penalty?" She asks.

"You have to take off an article of clothing. Excluding socks or shoes." Uriah says.

"But I'm only wearing a dress." She says.

"Well then this should be interesting."

"Fine I like Will." She mumbles.

"What?" I ask her.

"I like Will!" She yells.

I look over and see Will blushing, too. I wonder if he likes her.

"Marlene truth or dare." Christina asks.

"Dare."

"I dare you to let Uriah dress you and then run down the road and ask the first person you see to marry you."

"Okay."

She walks with Uriah to his room and a couple minutes later he comes out with Marlene looking like a hobo with a lot of lipstick. We all start laughing and she says that she'll need proof. I volunteer to go as well as Uriah.

We go outside and there is an old man walking his dog. I start to videotape as Marlene runs up to him and begs him to marry her. He just simply says no and threatens to call the police if she doesn't get out of his sight. I run back to the house and fall laughing on top of Tobias who is asking what happened.

I show them the video and now everyone is laughing, but Marlene.

I start to get up from Tobias's lap, but he pushes me back down saying 'get comfortable.'

I smile and lean my back against his chest.

"Four truth or dare?" Marlene asks.

"Dare."

"I dare you to ask Tris to be your girlfriend."

Tobias looks down at me.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" He asks.

"Yess!" I yell.

I look over at Lauren and she look angry. Very, very angry.

The game goes on, Tobias and I not getting called on and I feel sleep calling me towards it. I start to feel my eyelids droop, when I hear my name.

"What." I ask.

"I dared Eric to have a make out session with you in one of the bedrooms." Lauren says with an evil smirk on her face.

Eric gets up and starts walking towards me, but I hold on to Tobias and he whispers into my hair that it'll be fine. Although I think he is just saying that. He look angry.

Eric starts pulling me and I end up being dragged up to the stairs and into the bedroom.

He picks me up and throws me on the bed and starts to say rude things to me.

"Haven't seen you stiff in a long time. I was wondering when you would come back for me."

He starts kissing me and I try to get him off of me, but I can't. I feel the tears starting to come down my face and I try to scream but I can't.

I'm trying to wiggle out of his grasp when Lauren walks in.

"I see your having fun Tris. Eric 2 more minutes." She says.

He gets off of me and I try to run but he grabs me and pulls me against the wall.

I see his hand come up with something on it. I hear a BANG and feel a sharp burst of pain against my temple and then there is nothing.
