TOBIAS POV~~~~~~~~~~~~
Recap~ Zeke, Uriah, Tobias, Christina were watching the news channel and it explained that Marcus was dead and that Tris had been beaten by him. Tris was next to Tobias and was sleeping.
The next news story flashes on and we all just stare at one another until I hear something that is terrible and I blame the two idiots who were loud enough to cause such a catastrophe.
A half gasp, half sob escapes from Tris's mouth.
"How.... What..... No!" Tris stutters as she slowly lifts her head up from my chest.
"Tris....." Christina begins.
"No. No talk from anyone, but him." Tris takes her finger and digs it into my chest.
"When were you planning on telling me?" She asks much more quiet now.
"Tris.... I was planning on telling you once you felt better." I explain.
A single tear escapes from her right eye and she wipes it away angrily.
"I don't want to be interviewed. Everybody at school will know it's me!" Tris exclaims.
"Hey, there will be no interviews. I don't know who told them that information, but if you don't want to, then there will be no such thing. Okay?" I say soothingly.
Tris nods and burrows her head into my chest after glancing around and seeing that Uriah, Zeke, and Christina are all studying her.
I give them a look and Christina, thank gosh she's here because if she wasn't dumb and dumber would have began telling a bunch of terrible stories.
Christina grabs the both of them by there ears and drags then out if the bedroom and shuts the door.
"Lauren and Eric.... They're going to do some terrible stuff." Tris mumbles.
"We will all be there to support one another." I say gently as I lift her chin up.
"How does your back feel?" I ask.
"It still hurts," Tris looks out the window, obviously embarrassed, "but better." She quickly adds.
"I guess that's better then nothing, right," I say.
"Yeah, I guess," Tris sighs.
Mom and dad walk in and rush over to Tris's side interrogating her on all levels.
"Mom, dad.... Don't pressure her, okay," I say, annoyed.
"Oh you're right. Sorry, honey," mom says, stroking Tris's hair.
"It's fine, but uh can I get some water?" Tris asks cautiously if they were gong to say no.
"Of course," dad smiles and goes to the kitchen and comes back with a cold water.
I help Tris sit up, her face contorted in pain, biting her lip, trying to resist groaning.
Mom and dad leave after I give them a look just like I did to Christina and I tilt Tris's chin up again so she will stare into my eyes.
"I've said this before. It's just me in here, so you can let yourself be in pain. It's a normal part of life, right? Just let it all out," I whisper.
Tris's nods and after taking a sip of her drink, puts her arms around me neck and lays her head down in the crook of my neck.
"You know, you're the best thing that has ever happened in my life, right?" She questions softly.
"Why thank you," I say kissing the top of her soft hair.
"Seriously, sometimes I wonder.... what would have happened if there was no Marcus. Would I still have met you and would we still be together or like in Hawaii for crying out loud. You know?" She asks.
"Sometimes I wonder that, too, but I think we still would be together because we are one. Fate brought us together and we are going to stay together forever. I love you, Tris," I whisper.
"I.... love you, too,"
All of a sudden, Tris starts to cry. Her shoulders shake and I feel tears travel down her cheeks like cars going on a highway.
"What? What's the matter?" I ask. Did
I do something wrong?
"Nobody.... in my life has ever... said that and actually meant it and I just aren't used to it. I just love you so much and I don't want to loose you because that's what happens all the time. Whenever I get close with someone, terrible things happen. In a ticking time bomb," she tells me.
"That isn't true at all. You are not a ticking time bomb you are a flower blooming. You're beautiful and nice and funny and if people don't like you you, then they aren't true friends, right?" I ask gently.
"I guess," she says and looks at me suddenly, a smirk forming on her lips.
"What?" I ask smiling.
"I'll do the interview and let's see how the world sees me. Let's see who treats me normal once they find out about everything," she tells me.
"You sure you want to do this?" I ask.
"Yeah, why not. You have to promise me something, though..... You have to make sure that no mater what anyone says you will stay with me the entire time. Okay?" She asks and begins playing with my ears.
"I promise. I would never leave you alone with nosy news interviewers,"
Tris smiles and kisses me, spreading her smile to me.
"Isn't today December 23rd?" Tris asks suddenly.
"Yeah why?"
"The interview is going to be on Christmas Eve? What is wrong with people!" Tris exclaims.
"Good point. But maybe it will be a Christmas miracle because you don't have to deal with him anymore," I reply.
Tris shrugs and pulls away from our hug and begins to try to lay down, failing.
"Let me help you," I say and slowly lower her down, her eyes squeezed shut, teeth biting down on her lip.
"Okay, all done," I say, caressing my thumb against her cheek.
"Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow," Tris breathes.
"Okay, um, the remotes under you isn't it?" I ask, looking around frantically.
"Yeah, yeah. Get it out," Tris gasps.
"Calm down, one second," I exclaim.
I slowly slide my hand underneath her spine and quickly locate the remote and slide it back to me.
"Better?" I ask.
"Yep, thank you so much, Tobias," Tris whispers.
"You're welcome," I answer and lay down next to her.
"Let's watch Dance Moms," Tris says excited.
"Okay," I flip through the channels and turn it on to Kendall practicing her solo.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I turn my head slightly and see that Tris has fallen asleep.
Gosh, that medicine makes her tired really fast.
All of a sudden, Tris starts screaming in her sleep and kicking around.
"Not again! No! Tris wake up!" I yell and shake her arm.
"No! Marcus! Please no!" Tris screams and rolls over out of the bed.
"Tris!"
I see her laying on the floor face down and she moans.
"You okay?" I ask and pick her up and place her softly back on the bed.
"I had a nightmare. I'm sorry," Tris says hiding her head under the pillow.
"No need to be sorry," I say as Marlene bursts through the door.
"They're here!" She yells.
