Tobias grips my hand and says,
"Now?" I slowly nod, not exactly sure if I want to but...
We wake in a field, I instantly think crows. I shiver and Tobias smiles at me. He pulls me closer, into a hug.
"I'll guard you." I chuckle and snuggle my head into his shirt. The crows peck at his neck and arms, a few of them nibble at my hair and back but Tobias hits them away.
Next I face Peter. I'm even more terrified since him trying to throw me down the chasm. Me and Tobias are tied up together, Peter sets the long choppy grass on fire. It slowly burns towards are feet.
"You know what I smell? Rain." I say to him, the scene slowly disappears, leading us to my next situation.
Faceless people reach out for me so Tobias encloses me within his arms, saving me from the creatures. They tug at my hair and tug and my shirt but they stop. I look around me, letting go of Tobias.
I'm in a tank, with Tobias and a pipe is slowly filling with warm water. I decide to go Divergent, I reach my fingertips to the glass, Tobias does the same and together we crack the glass open. I swallow in a deep breath afterwards gasping for air which I couldn't find before.
I feel guilt rip me as I hold the gun out in front of me, Tobias nods at me, giving me the look of 'do it'. I don't, I turn the gun to myself and shoot. I wake to darkness.
I slip away from the darkness and I just about see a small light. I sit up and feel Tobias's prensence next to me. But when the light grows bigger, I see Tobias and my family bleeding, my feet were tied, I couldn't help. I closed my eyes and it got over to the next obstacle.
"Tris." Says a second Tobias. I reach out for the real one, but he's tied up against the closet, helpless to me. The second Tobias infront of me starts to kiss me, forcibly pushing my jumper up my body, I yank it back down and push him away. But he perseveres. He comes back again, this time grabbing my trousers, I try pushing him away but he starts to pull them down. I had no choice so I kick him and elbow his jaw and the simulation ends.
"I couldn't get it to work..." I say, my checks red. I burry my face in my hands ashamed of my own cowardice against my fear of that...
"It's okay Tris." Tobias comes to me, attepting to pull my hands away from my face. He might know about my intimacy fear but he doesn't understand how embarrassing this is right now...
"No, Tobias. It's...embarras-" He cuts me off still trying pry my hands away from face.
"Tris! Listen, I'm not going to force you to...to do anything you don't want to do." I look up at him, my face tear stained. He doesn't say anything when he sees me crying.
"I just...I...I don't know." I welcome his embrace, his arms slowly tangling around me, adding to my nerves.
"Tris, I love you. I don't know what it's going to take for you to understand that I won't force you to do anything." I let a single last tear go and Tobias wipes my eyes with his thumb.
"I love you too, Tobias." I add nothing more, too afraid I'll say something to upset myself or him.
"Come, on let's go." He slings his arm around my shoulder and we walk off back to the apartment.
We get back and he sends an appreciated smile. I go get ready and change before Tobias can see me. I thrown on a plain black top and as I pull up my black loose bottoms, Tobias comes in. I pull my pants on quicker but he just sits down on the bed.
"Tris..." I turn to him. "You know you don't need to hide yourself from me." I feel my face heat up and I sit next to him but face the floor.
"I just feel like I need to-" He stops me.
"Tris! I've told you. I love you for who you are. I wouldn't change you for the world." My face burns, almost to the point where it stings.
"I-I don't feel comfortable...I'm...I'm scared..." I say defeated by his insistence.
"Give over Tris, I'm not forcing you to do anything! I never will." He leans in close to and his lips meet mine. This kiss isn't desperate or hot 'n' heavy but long and loving. I break away, scared enough for one night.
"Good night." I say. He replies,
"Night Tris." I slowly tick off into a dreamless night's sleep.
I wake up in Tobias arms, I pry myself away from him, which somehow I manage to wake him up.
"Tris..." I turn around to him, my feet scrapping the surface of the rough carpet. "Come to sleep for a bit longer..." I shake my head.
"Tobias, I'm going for a walk, you stay asleep." He starts to get up but I sit next to him and push him down by his chest.
"Tris, let me come..." I shake my head.
"I'll be fine." I say about to get up, but I clasps onto my wrist.
"I love you." He says letting go of my wrist and pulling me in a kiss. We kiss for a few minutes, me above him.
"I love you too." And with that, I changed and leave.
I reach the train line and begin to run with the train. I grab the hand and slam my other hand against the door to unlock it. I throw myself in and wait until the train reach Erudite. When I get there, I jump stretching my arms out wide and curling my legs in.
"Caleb Prior? Where is he?" I say imitating Dauntless attitude.
"I'm sorry madame, he's busy right now." I slam my hand against the desk confidently.
"Beatrice?" I hear Caleb say, I turn to his voice and he's stood behind me. I see him in his blue Erudite suit, I feel disgusted in him but I flush those feelings away and run to hug him. He looks around as if he's being watched and then hugs me back. "What are you doing here?" He asks, I pull away from his hug.
"I needed to see you." Is all I say, he smiles reassuringly.
"Beatrice, how are you?" I smile.
"I'm fine thank you, Caleb. You?" He holds my hands in his.
"I'm great now..." Is detect guilt on his face.
"What happened?" He shrugs.
"That doesn't matter. How was initiation?" I scowl at him.
"What's happened?" He hesitates but then pulls me off down a corridor.
"Beatrice, Erudite have been releasing reports about our parents." He hands me a clutter of papers. I glance over them, the headlines reading 'Abnegation innocence?'. My face heats up. "They're accusing mum and dad of beating us..." My face burns in anger.
"Caleb! People haven't been h-" I stare into his eyes they are watery.
"People have...they've been..." He bursts out in tears. I squeeze his arm.
"What's been happening?" He squints, attempting to squeeze the last tears put of his eyes. It doesn't work.
"They've been bullying me...They push me over, hurt me..." I feel teary myself. But I know I can't cry when he needs me. I notice a small purple patch above his left eyebrow, I reach my hand to it but he flinches away.
"How'd this happen?" I ask him pointing to his bruise.
"A Erudite born, he threw the papers at me and...hit me..." I frown.
"Caleb! How long has this been happening?" He shakes his head.
"Since two weeks into initiation." Caleb sighs and I stare at him, thinking.
"Join me." I say he throws me a questioning look.
"In Dauntless?" I slowly nod, not exactly comprehending what I just asked him to do. "I don't fit Beatrice."
"You can pretend you joined the factionless...and I'll get you some spare Dauntless clothes and you can pretend to be olde-"
"You know that's not going to happen, Bea." His eyes are instantly watery again, mine are too.
"Caleb, if you can't come to me, I'll be coming to you. Every week." He chuckles and he clasps my hands and kisses my cheek.
"I love you." Smiling, I welcome his hug.
"I love you too Caleb." I pull away from him and wave. Then I'm gone.
I get back into the Dauntless compound safely and return to our apartment.
"You've been gone ages, Tris." Tobias says sitting on the sofa, his knee bobbing up and down. I nod.
"I have..." I glance at my watch, it's almost two in the afternoon...
"I know you didn't go for a walk, Tris. Where've you been?" He glances at my face, probably detecting previous tears.
"I went to see my brother." He shoots me a confused look and I instantly speak up again. "Caleb. He was telling me about Erudite and their fake published papers..."
"About what?" I sit next to him.
"My parents..." I put my head in my hands. "They've been accusing them of abusing me and Caleb. They didn't...And...Erudite have been doing stuff to my brother..." Tobias goes pale as I mention abuse.
"What stuff?" I feel my eyes stinging.
"They uhh...have been beating him." His eyes expand.
"Beating him? Like bullying?" I nod, determined to not cry. "Who has Tris?" I shrug.
"He won't tell me even if I did probe him, he's very conservative. I invited him to come here, but he claimed he couldn't. Will you come with me next time, to visit him I mean?" He sighs.
"Yes, but we need to make sure we don't get caught though..." I give him a quick hug and he leans out from the hug and kisses me. His hands move to my waist, his touch sending electric pulses through me. I pull away, heart beating heavily. I'm scared of where this will go...
I throw a bed top on and take my jeans off. Tobias comes in amd I feel heat rush to my face; I frantically search for some bottoms to put on. He comes over to me, from behind and wraps his arms around my waist. I feel like pulling him off me, but I know he'll feel to afraid to ever touch me again then...Instead I continue searching for bottoms. He kisses my neck and ravens. My heart thumps quicken matching my breaths.
"Tobias..." I mutter.
"What Tris?" I stop in my tracks, is he angry that I want him to stop? He lets go of me, making me breath normally again. His expression wasn't angry but questioning.
"I...uhh..." I almost die of embarrassment.
"It's uhh...okay." He scratches the bank of his neck. I finally find a pair of bottoms but as I go to put them on, Tobias stops me. "Leave them." I don't want to leave them off but I feel pressured to, so I just get in bed with my top only.
