"Shut the door" he says as we walk into the simulation room. I shut the door behind me and walk over. "You're gonna practice" he says

"In my fear landscape?" I ask

"No. In mine. We go in together" he says

"Have you ever done this before? I ask

"No, I haven't" he says

"You sure you want to?" I ask

"Why wouldn't I?" He says looking at me and setting everything up.

"I don't know. You haven't told me anything about yourself and now you're just gonna let me inside of your head?" I say

"Are you afraid of that?" He asks

"You're not?" I ask he looks at me for a moment and then responds.

"No" he says getting the needles ready. He injects me with it and then himself and then sets up the wires on my temples and his own and then sits in the seat. I open my eyes and see we're high up on a platform.

"Fear of heights. I'm not surprised" I say

"It's not real" he says

"No. We could just jump" I say standing up

"Divergent would jump. Dauntless would get to that building. If you want  to pass, if you want to avoid discovery. You have to do everything the way a Dauntless would do it. You have to find some tool, some method to survive" I began crawling over to the building Four followed behind me and went inside the building closing the door behind us. Four suddenly groans as the room began to become smaller.

"Fear of confinement" I say "you're not the only one struggling with this one" I say breathing heavily.

"You have to find a way of stopping it. What would a Dauntless do?" He says to me I look around and find some screws on the ground and pick them up sticking them in between the moving wall.

"Good" he says grunting "take your time. I'm just enjoying myself in this shrinking box"

"I'm panicking too okay" I say as the walls stop moving. We're cuddled up into each other when we open our eyes we're no longer in the small room but a larger one. Four stands up and walks over to a table.

"As a Dauntless soldier, you have to follow orders you don't always agree with." Four says picking up the gun and aiming it at the girl in the chair.

"Who is she?" I ask

"She's an innocent. I have to kill her" he says "but I can never do it. Unless I look away" Four turns away and pulls the trigger killing the girl. He then backs away and we are now in Abnegation.

"Why are we in Abnegation?" I ask

"Your last fear is your worst fear. It lives in the deepest part of your mind." He says then it clicks

"Marcus had a son. What was his name?" I ask

"Tobias" Marcus's voice says as he walks into the room.

"Tobias..."
"Tobias.." his voice echoes throughout the room. Multiple Marcus's surround us.

"I'm just trying to help you to be better" Marcus takes off his belt and is about to hit him.

"No!" I yell and step in front of him and block the belt. I hit him causing all the other ones to fall. We both wake up and take off the wires I run a hand through my hair and sigh standing up. Four leaves the room I take a minute to breath and take in what happened. I then walk out and find him outside leaning against the railing. I walk over and lean on the railing beside him.

"Four? Four fears?" I say

"Four then, four now." He began "I keep going in there, but I don't think you ever lose them" he says I look over at him and see the beginning of a tattoo I was really curious about what his tattoo was.

"Can I ask you something?" I ask

"Sure" he looks over at me. 

"What's your tattoo?" I ask

"You wanna see it?" He says looking down at me. I nod and watch as he turns around and pulls his shirt over his head. I look amazed at his tattoo that ran from the top of his back all the way to the bottom.

"It's amazing" I say putting my hand on his back. I feel the muscles tense up as I run my hand down his back. "The factions. Why do you have all of them?" I ask

"I don't want to be just one thing. I can't be. I want to be brave and I want to be selfless...intelligent and honest and kind. Although I'm still working on kind" he says and turns around. I look up at him my eyes going back and forth between his. He gets closer to me and then our lips meet and they move perfectly. We make out for a bit and then we pull away.

"I don't wanna go too fast" I say

"It's okay. I've already got my spot on the floor" he says we both chuckle.

"Can I ask you something now?" He says

"Sure" I say

"Why 13?" He asks

"How long have you been wanting to know that" I chuckle

"Since the first day I met you" he says

"My mother. She used to call me lucky little 13" I say. Four's hand makes his way to my tattoo on my color bone and smiles. "I like it" he looks at me smiling.

We then head back to his apartment and go to sleep for the night. I woke up the next morning to see Four was already awake and looking straight at me.

"Morning" I say

"Hey" he says back "come on. I'm gonna show you something." He says

"Okay" I say getting up and getting ready. We then leave his apartment and jog over to the top of a building where you could see everything.

"Look" he points out to me.

"Erudite" I say

"Yeah. They're here every morning. I've been watching them for weeks." He says

"What are they doing at Dauntless?" I ask

"Loading in supplies. Computers and these" he says pulling out a glass tube that had a yellow liquid in it.

"What is it?" I ask

"I think it's some kind of cognitive transmitter. You inject like a serum" he says

"Why?" I ask

"It's suppose to to make you more susceptible to suggestion, but as many as they have, they could create an army." He says suddenly there's a voice on the PA "Attention, all initiates report for final testing. All initiates report for final testing" I look up at Four.

"You're ready. You can do this" he says I nod and we head over to the testing room. When we get there Four stops me again. "They can see your hallucinations on the screen. So you get past your fears the way a Dauntless would, but do it quickly. He says

"Right. If I'm too good, then they'll kill me, and if I'm too slow, then I'll die" I say

"Right. Good luck" he says

I take a deep breath and walk over to the chair where everything was set up. Tori walks over to me and I injects me with the serum.

"Good luck, 13. Hope you make it" she says walking away. I take a seat and lean back taking deep breaths. I focus on my breathing until I pass out. I wake up I'm here again in the tiny room. I began freaking out but then I think about what Four told me. Take your time, deep breaths, think. I look around and find the screws I pick them up and began putting them in the moving wall I then curl up and shut my eyes. I open them to see I'm no longer there I stand up and stretch my arms and legs looking around.

"Amelia" my body shutters when I hear his voice. No! Everyone was going to find out about my father this was going to ruin Abnegation.

"It's all your fault! You killed your mother!" He shouts I began crying and covering my ears.

"No it's not" I say

"You killed her!"
"You killed her!"
"It's all your fault!"

"Shut up!" I scream and punch him in the face. He goes down and I back away panting and crying like crazy. The door shuts behind me causing me to spin around. I see Four he's walking over to me with a smile. We're in his apartment he didn't look happy.

"I told you not to tell anyone!" He yells

"I thought I could trust her" I say back

"Now we're both screwed! Good thing you didn't choose Erudite you clearly don't use your brain!" He gets closer to me causing me to back up.

"I'm sorry!" I yell he grabs my arms tightly causing me to wince.

"Th-that hurts, four" I stutter

"We might as well be dead!" He pushes me and slaps me in the face I fall on to the bed and crawls on top of me. I knee him in the side and then elbow him in the face. I gasp shooting up in my seat the crowd applauds. I groan standing up and rubbing the back of my neck embarrassed when Four walks over to me.

"Please tell me that you weren't watching that" I say groaning looking up at him.

"Would you feel better if I said no?" He says

"You did well. Now...One final test" Jeanine says handing me a gun "you know what to do" she says

"What?" I say I see my father and brother walk out smiling at me.

"If you want to be Dauntless" she adds

"No" I say

"Do it" she says I hesitate to hold the gun up but I do and I shoot them both. I gasp sitting up panting.

"You all right?" Four says to me I look over at him breathless. "That looked good to me, okay?" He says I nod and stand up "come on. Let's go" he says
