episode 8: THE RUNWAY
part 1

ren woke up extremely happy and warm. feeling the warmth of her boyfriend in her arms, she smiled.

"good morning baby," jj smiled at her,

"jeez jj, didn't know you were awake," she jumped a little,

"your so pretty," he stared at her in awe.

"your prettier," she laughed which made jj groan and get up.

after they both had a shower and got dressed jj looked at the girl in confusion, "is that my t-shirt?" he asked,

she looked down and saw that it was in fact his t-shirt, "oh yeah. i guess it is, sorry," she laughed.

they ended up sitting outside with kiara and pope. their feet in the hot tub water.

"how's it feeling?" pope asked kiara who was testing the thing out,

"feels good," she replied

"i'm taking you down," pope said starting to bring kiara back down,

"john b pullin' a houdini," jj said,

"yeah, where is he?" pope asked, "i got my scholarship interview tomorrow morning,we gotta get this done," he added

"speak of the devil, john b! hey!" ren said noticing john b walk in, but he ignored her, and ignored everybody else.

"dude, i set up the entire winch to pull up the gold and everything," jj lied,

"pfft, of course you did," ren said sarcastically.

"no he did not. i did that," pope said,

"hey john b," kiara said also noticing that the boy was ignoring them, he walked right in the chateau.

"okay that's it?" jj asked

"uh... what's that all about?" pope asked

"let's go find out, john b!" ren yelled running after him, the rest of the pouted following her.

they walked in and saw john b looking for something, scattering everything around.

"you all right man, what's - what's up?" pope asked him,

"what are you looking for?" kiara questioned him,

"bro, what's going on, man?" jj asked john b who was now over by the living room as he looked under a pillow he found jj's gun.

"john b, what are you doing with that," ren walked up to him but he pushed her away making her fall into pope,

"hey man! what do you need the gun for?" jj yelled helping ren up but only to get pushed himself.

"john b, chill!" kiara yelled.

"what the hell are you doing?!" ren yelled,

"what are you jj now?" pope asked but quickly got shoved into the table by john b,

"pope! are you okay?" ren asked, pope nodded as they all followed him outside.

"john b what the hell are you doing?!" kiara yelled

john b got on his bike and was about to take off but ren stopped him,

"john b what the hell?!" she yelled,

"ward knows about the gold." he said which made ren's mouth drop and eyes widen.

"he killed my dad!" john b said before driving off, god knows where.

"john b!" kiara yelled running after him, so did everyone else.

"shit!" ren yelled seeing that there was no stopping the boy or whatever he was doing,

"holy fuck what do we do?" ren yelled,

"we go after him!" jj yelled back grabbing ren's hand and pulling her inside.

"you guys go!" ren yelled,

"what about you?" pope asked,

"i'll stay here. just in case he comes back," she smiled weakly as they all said goodbye and went looking for john b,

it was awhile later and john b still hadn't come back, and it was now dark,

ren heard the door open and close so she shot up out of her seat once she heard john b calling out to his friends,

"ren? jj?" he asked shakily,

"it's just me, john," she hugged him tightly to which he hugged back,

"i'm so so sorry," she said to him,

"i miss him, ren i miss him so much!" he cried into her chest,

"i know, john, i know," she let him cry into her for a while until he stopped crying,

"ward killed him," john b said,

"really? so why would ward let you stay with him? to get information?" ren asked

"i guess so, i just, i wanna kill him ren." john b said grabbing her hand,

"i know, i do too," she smiled sadly at him,

"did you tell sarah?" she asked

"i did, but she didn't believe me, like at all," john b chuckled sadly,

"she's just confused, give her some time, she'll come through," ren smiled at him.

"is there anything we can do?" she asked him, "to you know, help you?"

"there's one thing, come on follow me," john b said leading her to the office.

they ended up at the dock, sitting cross-legged, with a picture of big john, on a few sticks, they lit a candle on it and john b stared at it, intensely for a while, before putting it in the water, watching as it floated away.

"goodbye, dad," john b said which made ren put her arm around him.

"i'm sorry john," she said,

john b laid against the dock with ren laying on his stomach, as they fell asleep together, silently watching the ocean.

FLASHBACK

"hey big john! is john b here?" 14 year old ren asked big john who was stood at the front door,

"yeah, honey he's right in here, pope and jj are here aswell," he smiled letting her in,

"hey guys!" she sat down with them as big john went to the kitchen and made the girl a drink, noticing her black eye,

"ren come here for a minute," he said to her,

"okay," she walked to the kitchen and big john looked at the girl,

"what happened to your eye? did he hit you again?" he asked,

"a little, but nothing i can't handle," she smiled at him,

"here, put this against it," he handed her a cold drink to which she put it over her eye.

FLASHBACK OVER

the next morning john b woke up and looked down at ren, who was also awake, staring at the sky.

"mornin'" he said to her,

"hey, sleep okay?" she chuckled.

"yeah, you?" he asked her,

"fine," she sighed getting off him.

"can we uh, go get something?" john b smiled,

"you thinking what i'm thinking?" she asked him smiling,

"let's roll," he got up and walked to the van, her doing so too.

they ended up at the crain house, which was exactly what ren was thinking, get the rest of the gold.

"let's do this," ren got out of the van, with john b.

ren saw that there was a sign that said 'for sale' and so did john b, they went over the wall anyway.

after they both jumped down they saw that there was a wheelbarrow there, that read 'cameron development' ward had been here.

"no, no," john b said

"come on!" ren whisper yelled running to the well.

they decided on john b going down since he knew where it was.

"see anything?" she asked him,

"no! no!" she heard him yell slamming his fists on the ground,

"it's gone! it's gone ren!" he yelled,

"what?!" she yelled back, "all of it?!"

"all of it, gone," he sighed getting out of the well.

"fuck!" she kicked a can away.

they drove back angrily, but silently, back to the dock.

by then the other pogues had joined them, except pope who was in his interview.

"you sure he got everything?" kiara asked after the two had explained everything to them.

"all gone." ren sighed throwing a pebble into the sea.

"every bar, the whole enchilada," john b said taking off his cast and throwing it to the side

"look, it's not like i expected a happy ending or some shit," john b said.

"john b," kiara warned him about his cast.

"what, kie?" he asked, "it's a hairline fracture, who cares?" he asked her

"you should care. your arms gonna be messed up for life," she said

"it's fine. see?" he rhetorically asked.

"guys! guys!" pope yelled running toward them.

"pope?" ren asked

"oh! oh! oh god! i ran all the way here," he panted,

"how was the interview pope?" jj asked him,

"don't ask," pope stated still out of breath.

"jb. look, i'm sorry, dude. about everything," pope panted through his words.

"it's fine," john b said from his spot

"but- but i don't have a lot of time, and- and i have information that is tactically relevant," pope said, "so, before i had my interview, my dad said he was going down to the private airstrip to cut palms for cameron's big plane. because it was too heavy it needed a longer landing strip to take off," pope said which made everyone realise what he was saying.

"so, i'm there, sitting in my interview, thinking to myself, 'hm. why would cameron need a longer airstrip to take off? what could be so heavy to weigh it down?'" pope quoted his earlier self,

"gold," pope answered himself.

"that's right," john b agreed,

"guys! this is our chance, but it leaves tonight, and we have to go!" pope said

"guys we can't give up now," kiara pointed out.

"pogues for life baby!" ren whooped, high-fiving jj.

"what's the plan, big man?" jj asked john b,

"we steal that shit back," john b said smiling at them.

"let's do this!" pope yelled running to the van.

"come on baby!" jj yelled picking up ren and throwing her over his shoulder.

hey yall! i know this chapter is shorter than my other ones, it's just there's only like 12 mins left of this episode and i don't want to do it all in one part, so next chapters gonna be quite short aswell sorry! until next time!
