III : Seperation
Indoraptor awoke in a dark room. His claws scraped the shiny, metal floor beneath him. He was still tired and his entire body felt loose. But it was easing gradually, much to his appreciation.
What had happened before he was trapped in here? He knew that the humans shot at him with those sticks, but what was before that?
Indoraptor stretched and eyed the enclosure. There was a lot of noise in the background, beyond his cage. The noise sounded like humans. A whole crowd of them, he guessed. Indoraptor heaved himself upward onto his four legs, then stood up completely on his rear legs once he had found the strength. He pushed his snout out of the gap in between the metal bars. There was little light, but with his good eyesight, he saw more light than there was.
The floor beneath him budged, and he realized the entire cage was moving. Indoraptor jolted backward, stumbling to find his balance on his four legs.
More light appeared, and it was occasionally broken up by sillhouettes of humans and objects they sat on or stood by. As the humans cast their sight onto him, he let out a screeching-roar, demanding freedom.
He gripped his fore claws around the metal bars, and the memory finally came back to him. He had met a velociraptor named Blue before he had fallen asleep. She had taught him so much already, and he owed her a lot. I have to find her! Other than that, he realized how much he cared for and respected her. "Blue!" He screeched. "Blue, where are you?"
Around him, the crowd of humans let out shouts and crowed to each other. There was a man who stood closest to his cage, shouting at the crowd. Some humans at the side of the cage poked at him with those shocking sticks, and he screeched in agony each time they poked. Ouch! Leave me alone!
He snapped his jaws at the shocking stick, threatening the human, but it didn't seem to care. Amusement glittered in the small eyes of the human. He snarled. The room went much quieter as the one man continued hollering at the crowd. Then, something caught Indoraptor's attention.
A red light beamed across the room, onto the chest of a man in the crowd. Indoraptor stepped closer to the metal bars, then threw himself at the cage, trying to escape to achieve his prey and seize his target. The crowd jumped in unison, giving shouts of alarm. The red light had gone now, and Indoraptor didn't feel the unbreakable urge to kill any of the humans, other than his instinct to hunt, which wasn't intrigued in that moment.
Suddenly, a small dinosaur which Indoraptor of course didn't recognize, ran into the crowd, taking a few humans down with its head. Did Blue tell me what those were? He wondered. I don't think so.
The crowd of humans exploded into chaos. They ran everywhere, trying to escape the angered dinosaur. Then, a man ran and tackled another human, who had one of those sleepy sticks, but Indoraptor knew it was different since it fired odd, loud stuff instead of the things that stuck in your skin.
He watched the chaos with interest and amusement. He caught sight of the small dinosaur again. I like this little guy. He's funny. The humans were flying everywhere because of the small dinosaur, and that one human was fighting with a bunch of others.
The cage suddenly jerked backward, and Indoraptor was being taken into that dark room again. But it suddenly stopped, and Indoraptor noticed the one human had pulled some sort of stick that came from the ground and that was what made the cage move and stop. The man then left, and after a moment of more loud chaos, the room was quiet and empty. He was left alone in his cage. He paced around with no motive. He couldn't think of one.
Then, another man came into the room. He approached the cage slowly, and Indoraptor turned to face him. He scratched at the metal bars with his claws, growling and hissing at the man. The man had carried a sleepy stick, and it made him frightened. Not again!
But the things that stuck into his skin didn't seem to be working for some odd reason, and the sleep didn't weigh onto him. Instead, he caught an idea, realizing how hungry he was. Indoraptor began to fall backward, stumbling, letting himself go loose. He collapsed rather dramatically to the floor of the cage and closed his eyes. He heard the squeaking noise of the cage opening, and the human stepped in, the door closing by itself behind him. Indoraptor felt the man prod his face, and he gave no reaction. It's working, he thought with satisfaction. The man clasped something around his tooth. Indoraptor raised the tip of his tail in the air, waving it around. The man whipped around, and his tail dropped. Indoraptor opened his eyes, and closed them when the man turned back to his head to return to pulling on his tooth. Indoraptor raised his tail tip again. But when the man turned to look, he kept his tail up, opened his eyes, and raised himself upward, grasping the mans arm in his jaws. Biting down hard, he raised the man up from the ground. The man screamed in both pain and terror, and fell to the ground when his arm fell from his body and down Indoraptor's throat.
He licked his lips, enjoying the food to fill up his growling stomach. But he wasn't satisfied, and this human needed a lesson taught to him. Indoraptor lowered his head and stood on his four legs, pressing the tip of his snout to the man, who was trapped between him and the cage. The man was shaking, seeming to be begging desperately for his life, though he knew it was already over. Indoraptor let out a ear-splitting screech, devouring the man alive, listening to his screams before they eventually died out as Indoraptor ate the rest of him.
Indoraptor hadn't noticed the man who ran past the cage and into a weird room with flickering lights. He raised his head from his meal when he heard the terrified scream of a human from that room. Indoraptor pushed himself out of the door to the cage, running his way over to the human who had screamed. But two doors were sliding shut, and he bashed his face against the doors when they closed, the chance of him getting inside was gone.
He turned back in a circle in annoyance, but when he had turned around, the doors had opened. Indoraptor turned his head towards his new prey, giving a screeching-roar of triumph, he clawed the man apart, and although he was still alive, he moved on to his next piece of prey. He didn't want to miss out on any. He'll be dead in a few seconds anyway.
One by one, Indoraptor killed each person in there, and had pursued each one that ran away. When each one fell limp, a surge of pride rushed through him. He finally knew what it was like to have proper instincts, just like Blue did. But what Indoraptor was unaware of, was that his instincts were not proper. They were hyperactive for killing. It was his main instinct. Not even the biggest, toothiest carnivore was as much as a hyperactive murderer that Indoraptor was. He killed for sport, rarely ever to eat. All Indoraptor's life, he was fed by the humans. He never needed to kill to eat, until now when he had escaped.
The sport of murder was the only thing that gave him amusement or any interest. He never wanted freedom. He was content with his life here. But Blue changed a lot of things for him. If being free meant being with her, he wanted it.
--
This was it. He had escaped from that room and into a hallway. He was one step closer to the freedom he longed for since he had met Blue. And how he longed for her, too. Indoraptor missed her and was going to find her with any chance and luck he could get. There's a certain word to describe how I feel towards her, Indoraptor thought. I just don't know what it is.
He perked up his head, distracted by the sound of humans yelling. Naturally, he was drawn to it. Indoraptor crawled his way over to the sound on his four legs. His amber eyes narrowed to see the scene play out in front of him. A group of humans were yelling at each other, seeming to be squabbling over something. Indoraptor swayed his tail over the floor, tapping one foreclaw on his cheek in thought. He watched as the one human was getting angrier at the others, and with a spring of energy, Indoraptor sped over to the human, grasping the man in his jaws as he ran. He heard each of the humans scream as he stood on the other side of the hallway where they couldn't see him. I know what you're thinking, he thought to the humans, grinning as he gulped down the last piece of the man. I'm quite sneaky and clever. You never saw me coming, did you?
He smirked to himself. I'll never get sick of this.

Blue paced around the enclosure. Outside of it stood a human with her arm chained to the side of the cage. Blue knew this was the woman who had saved her life. She didn't mind her company. She trusted this human just as she trusted Alpha. As she paced, she noticed that another human had come into the room. His face had a sleazy expression which she growled at. Blue knew this man, but she had no idea how. She didn't remember ever seeing him before, but she recognized him. The man and the woman were arguing, yet in a somewhat calm manner. Suddenly, another man rushed up to the sketchy man, piercing two sharp-looking objects into his neck. The man fell to the ground, and the other man crawled over to the woman, who exclaimed things in shock, and cut her free from the chain. The woman squeezed his cheeks and before the two humans could run, two other men ran up to them. One held one of those shocking sticks and the other grabbed the sketchy man's limp body, hauling it away.
Blue realized the woman's hand was moving slowly towards the lock that kept the enclosure sealed. And with a squeaky jolt, the lock became loose, the metal door was thrown open, and Blue whipped herself around to escape.
The two good humans were behind the metal door now, and Blue gazed at the woman for a moment. Thank you for saving my life, she thought as she gave a nod of her feathered head. Then Blue turned to the other man, hissing. Although the man flashed one of the shock sticks at her, she didn't hesitate. Blue threw herself at the man, making him prey.
Another man rushed out with another stick in his hands, but it was one of the sticks that fired firey things that hurt you. The things that had killed Charlie, but different. She whipped around as he fired the stuff at her, but she kicked out at him with her tail, unbalancing the man. The fiery stuff went everywhere, and one banged into the side of some container. A strange hissing sound emitted from it and smoke came from it. But the smoke held an odd smell. A dangerous smell, she realized as she sniffed it. But that man was not going to get away. She turned back to her second piece of prey and began to tear him apart.
Blue raised her head to a sparking sound. The two good humans had ran away now, and the smelly smoke had rolled around the room, engulfing her senses. Light flickered in the corner, making that sparking sound. Blue sniffed the smoke again, then ran for her life. Whatever it was, it was dangerous.
As she fled, Blue could feel the flames at her tail and the explosion as it knocked her off her feet. She flew through the air, but caught herself and scrambled away. Another terrible memory swept through her. The memory of Delta, being incinerated in flames. The memory of Charlie's dead body, burnt from the flames of human weapons. She shook her head to rid of the memories, but they stuck for a bit longer than she wanted. Then as she continued to sprint away, the memories faded away as she focused on survival.

Indoraptor raised his head, sniffing the air. The humans he had saw before now ran off, but he wasn't going to let them get away. They'd make a fine meal if he was hungry, and while he wasn't hunrgy, it would make a good game of chase. He walked around and arrived into another room, where the scent of the humans were strong. Their scent seemed to be all over the place. Indoraptor knew the humans were aware of him. He could hear the scuffling of their feet on the floor and it eventually hushed as he made his presence clear. He didn't care if the humans knew he was still stalking them, he just wanted to put more terror into their bodies. Indoraptor crawled along the floor, edging his way around each corner of the wooden boxes that the humans were hiding behind. Each time he rounded a corner, he heard the sounds of them moving away from him. I'm not playing your games, you pitiful creatures, he hissed internally. I'll win your game without your rules.
He hopped up onto the skeleton that mounted the wooden box. Indoraptor perched upon it, grasping the bones with his claws. He tilted his head downwards, grinning his sharp teeth at the humans who now were panicking, but didn't move.
The tinny human voice over a small device triggered his attack. He hissed, and a man let out a commanding, frightened yell at the others. They scattered all over the room. Two went up a case of winding stairs, and one ran off in another direction. Indoraptor sprinted after them, launching himself onto the stairs and clinging on with his claws. He snapped his jaws towards them through the bars of the stairs, biting and hissing. The humans let out a few screams, climbing away in desperation, falling and slipping occassionally as Indoraptor shook the stairs and tore them apart. They ran away somewhere, and he lost track of their location.
Something moving off to the side caught his attention. His eyes focused onto the new target. It was that human child he had saw before his cage had moved to be attached to Blue's cage.
Indoraptor gave a screeching-roar. You aren't getting away this time, he thought, lunging at the clear, shiny barrier that seperated him from the young human. The barrier broke, and behind the young human, he realized, was the woman who was on the stairs. The man was on the other side of the young human, fumbling with something in his hands.
Indoraptor lashed his tail with satistfaction when he stabbed his hooked back claw into the leg of the woman, who gave an agonized scream. As he was distracted by the new target, the young human took her advantage and ran away. But he whipped his head around and booked after her. Think you're clever, eh? Indoraptor saw the child pulling on something, screaming with terrified impatience. As he quickly neared, he wasn't quick enough. At the same time, a small wooden barrier dropped between them. He collided with a pained screech, recoiling. He raised his head, gazing at the moonlight filtering in through the window. An idea popped into his mind. Grinning, Indoraptor propped open the window wih a foreclaw, and pulled himself through the tight space. Rain hammered down from the sky, coating his dry skin. His claws grasped the slippery rooftop and he heaved himself up to the top where his chances of slipping were slim. Indoraptor sat upon his four legs and gave his signature bloodcurdling screeching-roar into the night. It echoed into the dark forest below him and beyond the house. The moonlight shone on his skin and he gazed down. Hm, he thought. I kinda look good in the moonlight.
He shook his head. This wasn't the time. Growling to himself, he swore to rip off those human's heads. How dare they get away from him, all these times? He was the one to dominate humankind, not the other way around. Humankind wasn't the one the dominate the lives of dinosaurs.
Indoraptor crawled atop the roof, peering down into a window. Rain pounded off the roof, thunder rumbling in the background. He gripped his claws around the rooftop window, pulling it open slowly without a sound. He let the scent of the room bathe his nostrils, and quite happily, he recognized the scent of the young human. Finally.
He tracked the scent onto a soft, cushioned box, it seemed. The human tucked herself under a soft blanket, shaking and whimpering slightly in fear. Her eyes fixated onto Indoraptor as he reached out with his arm, claws extended. He growled, edging closer and closer before a shout came from behind him. Indoraptor whipped around with a snarl. It was the man who had attacked all those other humans, and the one that always was with this young human and a woman. All three of those humans were three Indoraptor had yet to kill. The man held one of those sticks that shot fiery, painful stuff. And he had it aimed right and Indoraptor, and began to shoot at him before he could retaliate and lunge at him.
Indoraptor shrieked in pain, dropping his head towards the ground. It did hurt him, just not as much as the human thought it did. Yet again, Indoraptor did his scheme of faking pain. He heard familiar hissing in the background and he turned back around when the firing of the painful stuff had stopped. The man lowered his weapon. The weapon didn't seem to be working anymore.
Satisfaction flowed through Indoraptor.
He growled at the man, but the familiar hissing became closer. A smaller dinosaur had come into the room.
With a jolt, he recognized Blue.
