they all had the time of their lives at the party. after the swimming, they all took a shower and put on fresh clothes. coming back to the living room, they ordered pizza and began to ask each other random questions.

"falling in love is so out of nowhere. like, it doesn't have a guidebook. it just... happens," jack says out of nowhere.

"people fall in love in mysterious ways..." crystal starts singing as zach joins her.

"this won't end now," daniel says, smiling at the two teens.

"MAYBE JUST A TOUCH OF A HAND. WELL ME I FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU EVERY SINGLE DAY! AND I JUST WANNA TELL YOU I AM..." both of them stopped and looked at each other, smiling. the thoughts in their heads were so confusing. he was still dating kay, she was still not over her ex. but they were both falling. they refused to believe it. they thought it was wrong to do so. the fact that he was dating kay was always made so apparent, as kay never forgot to remind crystal about it. she would wrap her hands around zach's neck or sit down on his lap, just to get a reaction out of crystal.

which, however, she never got. crystal just looked away. she drowned her feelings into a deep dungeon in her head... and her heart. as the pizza arrived, the conversations died down, only to be restarted by corbyn.

"what are you favorite songs? i've never asked this to any of you!"

"summer of '69," zach was the first to answer. crystal smiled at him, his music taste was legitimate.

"twist and shout by the beatles," jack went next.

"hm... timber by pitbull and kesha!" skylar said.

"hot n' cold by katy perry," that was frannie.

"come and go by juice wrld," jonah replied.

"ophelia by the lumineers," christina said.

"jump by van halen," daniel decided.

"under pressure, queen and david bowie," corbyn spoke.

"baby by JB," tate spoke, earning looks from everyone.

"yeah. same!" this was kay. everyone stared at them like they were aliens. were they for real?

"um...unstoppable by sia," gabbie spoke.

"yellow by coldplay and thinking out loud by teddy," crystal said, smiling.

the girls, christina, gabbie and frannie had to leave early as gabbie had to take care of lavender, christina had to film a video and frannie had to get home. they all ate pizza in silence. it's only the fact that knowing someone's favorite song tells you so much about their personality that swarmed their head. jonah and skylar shared the occasional glance, wondering how they would get both their best friends together. kay, as if reading their minds, went up to zach and fed him a slice of pizza, then proceeding to make out with him in front of everyone.

soon as that happened, all eyes shot to crystal. she had a resting bitch face, eyebrows raised at the make out session happening in front of her. she looked down, at her plate contemplating what she should do. she knew kay and tate want a reaction out of her. one thing was for fucking sure, they wouldn't get that reaction. crystal looked up to all the heads turned her way, except zach, kay and tate's. she questioningly raised an eyebrow at them.

they all shook their heads and looked away, like puppets. jonah and skylar knew what to do. they knew exactly what to do.

"zach dude listen!" jonah started, smiling mischievously.

"yes?" he asked, breaking away from the kiss, much to kay's annoyance.

"guess what?" jonah said, playing the song we will rock you by queen, "it's time for a singing break!"

"'nuff said," zach replied, looking toward crystal as they burst into song not even a second later. jonah and skylar smiled at each other as the two kids began singing their hearts out. kay seemed pissed off for the interruption and tried to join the singing because it seemed like zach and crystal bonded extremely well over that. but as soon as she started, they stopped. then looked at each other for a moment before bursting out into laughter. they were laughing so hard that zach almost fell over and tears were coming out of crystal's eyes. just by laughing so much.

the boys and skylar looked over to kay who now had stopped singing and was angry as ever. she glared at zach and crystal as they tried to catch their breath, but only to end up laughing more. kay's breathing got heavy as she had almost lost it. tate rushed over to her best friend's side, attempting to calm her down. she only got a death glare in response and she gave up, coming back up to jonah's side.

"zach... i think we need to talk," she spoke through gritted teeth, pulling on a very angry smile.

"erm... sure," zach said, as both zach and crystal stopped their laughing fit.

they both got up, and kay pulled zach upstairs, to his room. the rest of the group just looked at one another, not sure what to do. tate was however, glowering at crystal. she did not stop even when jonah gave her a look that told her to shut the fuck up. they all stayed the same, with awkward looks on their faces until they heard yelling from upstairs.

they couldn't make out what was being said but it was aggressive. zach and kay were fighting. they heard a huge slam. zach had hit the wall with all his strength. following the slam, they could hear kay screaming at him. she didn't stop. it went on for five whole minutes. just her and her voice screaming at zach. when finally they heard another loud thud, a bang. he had hit the wall again. he spoke something, they couldn't quite tell what. 

and at that, the door was slammed close by kay, who angrily stomped downstairs, coming up to crystal. she went all up in crystal's face and was about to punch her, which she didn't. she knew that the boys and skylar would back crystal up. she just backed up and went out the front door, slamming it shut. zach didn't come down. his voice couldn't be heard. he just stayed there. everyone got extremely worried.

"i think i should go up there and check on him," jack spoke, slowly so zach wouldn't hear him.

"may i...?" crystal asked, unsure if she should go or not.

"i think it's better if rys went up there..." daniel said, dragging out his words.

"yeah, i think so too," corbyn, jonah and skylar agreed. jack nodded at that.

"i'm... i'm gonna go after kay..." tate said. jonah looked over at her, scoffing. she also earned herself a disgusted look by everyone else.

crystal made her way upstairs, opening the door carefully. as if opening it any faster would hurt zach more.
