Chapter 3

The minutes ticked into hours, and the hours ticked into days which turned into a week but he stayed,

sitting in the hospital chair, awaiting the Doctor or his friend walking out perfectly fine. Was he dead? Sky didn't know.

All Sky knew was that it's been a week and he hasn't moved from the chair other than going to the bathroom or getting food and bringing it to the hospital where he would eat it there.

There were three chairs hand in hand and Sky was sitting in the middle one, Sky slept on these chairs when he was tired.

Sky would have personally liked at least one more chair and a blanket, but he didn't have time. Sky wanted to be here when he woke up.

Eventually once it ticked three in the afternoon the door to the surgery room opened and the Doctor grinned, his eyes shining with immense joy.

"It was successful, he's alive."

The doctor's arms spread out wide as his eyes closed in happiness, one of his hands holding a full page of notes on a clipboard.

"Why did it take so long?" All they had to do was pump his stomach and check his vitals and etc. Why did it take a week that ended at three in the afterenoon?

"There were a few updates in which we needed to do in order he could survive."

"Like what?"

"Transplants, blood bags and such. We also took an X-Ray, we want him to check in at least three times a month if he can, we need to make sure the transplants are going well."

"..... Fine. I'm only doing this for him."

"Trust me, you won't regret it." The Doctor's grin perked upwards in a goosebump worthy matter. Sky raised his hand wanting to punch the creepy little weirdo,

but it dropped when someone jumped into his arms sending them both flying backwards onto the ground. A groan escaping his lips,

he slowly opened his eyes to see his bright, brown eyes a light with life. A huge, beautiful grin on his gorgeous face,

Sky couldn't help but smile back as he dropped his head back onto the floor. Covering his face in his hands, he continued to stare at his best friend between his fingertips.

"Don't you think it's rude to hit old ladies?" Preston mused. Cocking an eyebrow at Sky, Sky sat up making Preston sit surprised in his lap.

"Says the doofus who asked me to take care of his cactus when he's gone." His giggle echoing through the room, Sky grinned happily as he wrapped his arms around Preston. Not wanting to let go.

"You know I missed you Preston."

Preston frozen, Sky felt arms slowly slither up his back before wrapping themself around Sky's neck as he rested his head on his shoulder.

"Sorry......." Preston's voice barely above a whisper, Sky toned his voice down so nobody could hear them other than Preston.

"It's... It's okay... You just scared me."

Preston burrowing his face into Sky's shoulder, he said nothing but Sky could feel something hot and wet sliding down his shoulder blades.

Sky unfolding his legs, he bent his knees keeping his arms around Preston's back as he walked out of the Hospital, telling the Doctor to sign him out.

Sky just wanted to go home.
