Chapter 13
--= Ty's + POV =--
Pacing around at the airport, not entirely sure where Sky was, I felt discomfort crawl up my spine. I don't feel safe. In fact, I feel kind of..... helpless.
The venom which Preston threw at me was enough to tell whether he was bluffing..........
He wasn't.
Glancing around the area, a giggle rose in my throat to see there was nobody around. Hand shoving itself into my pocket I pulled it back up holding a box of cigarettes and my lighter.
Even if there were any around they'd be far on the opposite side of the airport or sticking inside staring out the window, it's freezing out here for some people but I don't see why.
Knowing the fact instead of my head, I double checked anyways, not wanting anybody to be too close that they could inhale the smoke.
Snicker puffing out of my lips, I snapped the lighter open and lit one. Fingers slipping their grip off the lighter and the box, I waved my hand around before laying it by my side yet again.
Headphones already plugged in, I noticed myself shaking my head as I tapped on a random playlist I made a few days ago, not really caring. Music soon drumming into my ears, tuning everything out, my lips perked upwards.
Images and scenes tossing in and out of my mind, one glowed brighter than the others. Giggles echoing from my lip, I tapped the screen with my index finger furiously and clicked the call button.
Rings chiming into my ears, I closed my eyes, letting the seconds tick by until the chimes stopped and my eyes snapped open in anticipation.
"Yeah dude?"
"I need some advice." Eyes moving left to right, taking everything in and relaxing my shoulders a small bit to notice nobody was there, his voice changed and I heard shuffling. The adorable fool was probably watching Netflix.
"Anything for my little Ty." He answered.
'Fire fire fire fire fire fire. Hot fire. Ohhhh hot fire. MY FACE BURNS.' Clutching onto the side of my face and scrunching it up tightly, my breathing sped up and I huffed.
"Yeah, okay." Tooth hooking onto my lower lip, I bit down on it gently. Nervous laughs slipping from me, some words I shouldn't say popped into my head cursing at me.
Hearing the echo of a grin through the voice call, I sank deeper into my hoodie, red spreading like the plague over my face. So he was watching Netflix. Guess I know my boyfriend too well.
"So what is it?" Eyes parting away from the screen, I continued searching around outside of the airport, still feeling like somebody was listening for some odd reason.
"I met someone....Like me....And he lives with Sky." An image of his eyes lighting up flashed inside of my mind, which gradually earned a smile to perk onto my face as the crimson inched onwards.
"That's great!" His voice filled with enthusiasm and seeming so happy for me, the smile immediately wiped off of my face, realization hitting me in the head. He sounds so excited...
".....But his infection is worse than mine."
"Oh." The smile still lingering inside of his voice, sounding almost hopeful it was washed over with worry, Ty cringed for the next three words he had to say.
"And he's mean."
"......Oh." Anger rising inside of his tone, melting to hear him being protective over me, I caught my balance realizing my knees were buckling and cleared my throat, face flaring.
"But I was the one who was being rude first, I would've been offended if I were in his position." Not sounding too sure, the man just let out a long, confused sigh, listening to me.
"So you made someone whose more dangerous, powerful, and probably deadly murderous angry because you wanted to make sure Sky was alright?"
"....Yeah." The sound of something slamming hard onto a solid, what I could only imagine being a desk, the end of the phone picked up quiet growling and groaning.
"Ty-"
"I want you to warn the others." I interrupted. My heart skipping once every beat, similar to hopscotch, the man sounded surprised at my suggestion.
"The others?"
"Yeah. I want them to come down here and visit Sky with you with them." Nerves bundling into the audio of the cellular device, I waited patiently and hopefully, eyes shining.
"Ty, that isn't a good idea. All those-"
"Mitch."
".....Fine. Fine fine fine fine, Fine." Mitch heaved out. Hearing shuffling through the other end, I picture him shaking his head at the stupid plan I'm making him go through.
"I love you."
".....I love you too. I'm calling the others. See you there."
"Bye." Clicking the large, red button on my phone to end the call, a smile beamed onto my lips as Sky's car pulled up just in time.
Hopping in, he immediately started laughing and chatting away as I grinned like an idiot.
