The smell was there, lurking in the deathly air of Ilusia, it was the smell of death and misfortune, it was the smell of annihilation and extinction of humanity, it was the smell that made the street loners end their lives in fear, and the smell that drove families into their little houses, crammed and scared all awaiting the end they have no power over. The little hope Ross' army gave Ilusia vanished as soon as The titan was awaken. The smell was death's call for some, and for others, it was a delicious ecstasy.

"Make a wish, and The Titan will grant it!" That was Milasic's industries advertisement, he granted the darkest of wishes, a wish only the likes of Viktor dreamed of, ending the world.

Humans are born to believe that they're immortal beings with unlimited power of thought, that foolish belief that they spend their entire life unconsciously believing while they walk Earth with their mortal bodies and fragile brains that can't comprehend the complex algorithm of the surrounding world. They're weak, tiny and oblivious to this massive universe, and yet, deep inside, they think they're so much more than this.

Merit knew her insignificance, but still felt denial.

The airships fell one after another, Merit and Andres were hesitating on deciding their next destination. The entire country was unsafe and at this point they can't guarantee their safety in any place, and as those airships malfunctioned, The Titan's massive footsteps echoed in the horizon, and the flags fell down like a flood to the ground as the sirens became aloud in each corner of Ilusia. Merit stood still observing that scene, the scene she had nightmares about for years, she knew what was it at last, and what that nightmare meant, It was Redemption Day.

"Stand still, my brothers and sisters! We still haven't lost yet! Those apostles are trying to bring our machinery to the ground but how dare they challenge our craft! Hide underneath your ceilings but fear not, we haven't failed!" The airships speakers broadcasted a message that each resident could hear, it was Lady Jackie.

Merit grew sweaty and shaky, she could hear nothing but her heartbeats and the fading sound of Lady Jackie, soon she can hear 'Redemption day!" Echoing in her ears, she started choking and soon she heard a terrible buzzing in her ears followed by strong nosebleed, Jen was here.

"Clue! I need a clue! You can't leave me hanging like this!" Merit shouted as she found herself in a blank white infinity that she was familiar with.

"I'm here to help you, but I need you to be calm. What's going to happen next is something ..terrifying."

"All that has happened so far is terrifying, it can't get worse." Merit cried, "We need to hurry, I beg you! People are dying like ants, crushed so mercilessly, I can't stand still and watch this shitshow!" Merit screamed at Jen, begging him to quickly help her.

"Merit, Remember when I told you that bringing back Lydia would eventually cause a distortion?" Jen calmly said, Merit nodded and breathed heavily.
"Yes?" She said, "Well, things have changed a little bit now. The distortion already happened and you'll see it for yourself once you go back, currently all I can tell you is that Corelight is in liberation square, she's waiting for you." Jen said, his voice fading away as Merit fainting, she was terrified upon hearing the word "She".

Merit knew that Corelight is indeed a being, not a place.

The few seconds of tranquility Merit enjoyed were gone once the screaming, crying and sound of sirens busted her eardrums, she woke up to find herself in Andres arms, still in the alley, drowning in her blood.

She quickly jumped off Andres arms and resisted her killing headache which made her unsteady, she was out of breath looking around her waiting to see what distortion occurred this time, and it didn't take her long.

In the distance, calmly sitting on a bench and eyeing Merit with hardly any visible emotion, it was Elijah.

"What the fuck?!" Merit cursed as she looked Elijah deep in the eyes. He had his head wrapped in bandage but he was indeed alive, 'Lydia killed this asshole.." Merit talked underneath her breath, still cursing and muttering as Andres approached her, "huh? Who's it?" He asked, Merit shied away from him and walked quickly to Elijah leaving the clueless Andres behind.

She hit a shoulder after another, but this time she's not there to steal, this time she's not there to practise her favorite hobby, this time she was here to kill.

"If you can't finish things, Jen, then I will." Merit muttered as she held her pocket knife and ran to Elijah who could clearly see her knife, Merit had no hesitation, seeing what the likes of Elijah had done she found no guilt in spilling his blood, and he didn't fear her deadly blow.

At last, she reached him, he sat still and looked her in the eyes, "Little Merit knows how to hold a knife now" he smirked as he'd usually do, but his eyes were empty and completely dead, one look into those eyes made Merit step back suddenly, hesitation found a way to her arm.

"You son of a bitch..I'll rip you apart" Merit shouted, still not waving that knife at him, as if she's waiting for his response.

"Where's Lydia?" He said, looking around, "Oh, there she is!" He said, waving with a cold smile to someone, Merit swallowed the lump in her throat but didn't fall for his trick. Elijah, at the speed of lightning, held Merit by her collar and dragged her close, "You and I have thousands of years left to have revenge on each other, I decided I'll be on your side for now because I HAVE THE FREE WELL TO DO SO!" Elijah shouted close to Merit who quickly swayed her knife and as she aimed at his neck, a gentle hand held her back, "It's no use, he will come back again. He can't die." A familiar voice said that made Merit stand still, frozen in her place. It was Lydia.

"You, you too! What are you doing here?!" Merit shouted, hitting Lydia and pushing her back. Lydia cried and asked Merit to calm down as Andres interfered and stood between both of them, and Elijah sat and watched with a wide grin.

"What's going on?!" Andres asking Merit who was ready to kick Lydia in the face as she lied on the ground. "These two are traitors, both of them are just here to hold us back!" Merit said, pointing her knife at Elijah's throat who didn't even flinch.

"Merit, please understand, I was forced to do this..I didn't have any choice. All I ask of you is just to see things through my eyes!" Lydia cried, still lying on the ground. Andres gave her hand and picked her up, "I don't know what happened here, but I'm sure we can use more people in this." Andres said, looking at Lydia and inspecting her, as soon as Merit was about to speak, Andres walked close to Elijah and looked at him, "I don't like this one though.." He calmly said, Elijah laughed loudly, "Its not a dating game Mr. Light shit." Elijah laughed, Andres frowned and Merit eyed both Lydia and Andres warning them of her next move. "I'm here, giving a hand to my killers, and my killers are scared of me? What kind of logic is that, you dumb fucks." Elijah said, Andres askrd Merit to lower her knife and Lydia nodded to calm her down.

"Listen here you stinky piece of shit, if you're here to help, which I doubt from my heart, then spill everything you know because other than that you're pretty useless, just dead weight." Merit said, folding her knife and looking at Elijah in disgust.

"Well, would you like some ice cream first?" Elijah laughed, pointing at the ice cream kart next to them with the vendor dead and lying on the kart, "You're fucked up" Lydia muttered, Andres sighed.

"Alright, alright. I'll spit it out." Elijah said, "I was a black hats agent but not one myself, I was born and raised human. Long story short once Miss Lydia smashed my head into pieces, the control chip was destroyed and now I'm a man of free will!" Elijah continued, everyone tightened their eyes, still awaiting the information he had.

"Uhm, well, the information you wanna hear is that Corelight is coming for you alongside Viktor, and right now a guy called Cain is watching us from the building above, he will shoot Andres in 3..2...1.."

And Andres was shot in the shoulder, Andres didn't even scream, but he fell down and Lydia quickly dragged him inside an alley as Merit punched Elijah till he passed out and then she dragged him too beside Andres.

"What the hell was that?!" Lydia cried, "Andres are you okay?!" Merit asked him as he nodded, "Its not serious, but this guy is." Andres said, "I can tend to his wounds, can you handle him?" Lydia said, Merit nodded, "Listen, make sure Elijah doesn't escape, we need him, he knows too much." Merit said, checking her equipment and running out of the alley following the walls to find a ladder up to that building while still inspecting the man among the crowds.

As Merit found a ladder up to the building, a bullet rebounded on it, Merit was now sure this man was up there, but how can she get up?

"What the hell!" She cried, jumping off the ladder into the window beside it as a storm of bullets began falling at her. Merit evaded them swiftly as she danced her way up through the ladder and the windows, in the distance Merit can suddenly hear the sound of The Titan's footsteps followed by a loud thunder strike that destroyed the airship that was about to fall right next to the building.

She took a deep breath and as the world fell around her, and the screams echoed higher and higher in her ears, she jumped up on the building with all of the strength she had, powered by all the hatred and resentment that built up inside her tiny heart, the building shook as the airship's timer went on, ten minutes before crash, and ten minutes for her to kill Cain.

She stood tall and proud, a warrior of light that bravely fought doomsday with all of her well, her white hair danced with the dusty black wind as her hood fell, she took out her two butterfly knives she carved herself and smirked at Cain who had two guns instead, he was two times her height, a man with strong muscles and huge chest. A skilled killer that knew no mercy, only lived to protect his precious Corelight and did anything to keep her safe, and now, he was ready to kill a child to keep her alive.

"A child like you should have hidden herself in that pity looking orphanage." He said, preparing his guns.

"Jeez, a big ass guy like you still living his emo days? Bandages all over your face? Who the hell still thinks this is hot?"

"I am not here for a fashion advice from a kid." He muttered, obviously irritated.

"You speak too much for someone about to get murdered!" Merit shouted, aiming her two knives at him, the battle finally begun.

In Liberation square, still sitting on the bench, a distortion occurred. The Titan had left, yet, the strange two still sat underneath that tree.

"Cain is handling her." Viktor said, "And what's next?" Corelight asked,

"We wait..for him."
