When the work was finally finished, y/n felt beyond exhausted. It had taken many hours but at least the assignment was done. Now y/n would be able to go home. She wanted nothing more then to go home and call Jin.
Grabbing her things, y/n made her way out, locking up her office as she went. On the way out, y/n stopped at the lounge to get water. Upon getting inside, y/n was faced with a group of girls, probably around her age if not younger.
As soon as the girls spotted y/n their eyes searched her up and down. Y/n had been getting stares all day as people passed by her office. Now y/n kind of missed when no one acknowledged her presence. She felt as if everyone was judging her.
Y/n quickly grabbed the water before heading out. Y/n just wanted to get home. With the looks of it, y/n wouldn't be making friends at work anytime soon. Everyone there seemed so unfriendly towards her and it upset y/n. There wasn't much she could do.
...
Once y/n finally arrived back home she sat down on the couch and pulled out her phone. It was currently 10:30pm and y/n was hoping that Jin would be awake. She really needed to hear his voice.
The phone rang a couple times but luckily after the second ring, Jin answered. "Hey baby, how was work?" Jin asked, his bright and cheerful voice making y/n's heart feel content once again. "It sucked." Y/n frowned, thinking back to earlier.
"Why, What happened?" Jin asked, sounding confused and concerned. "I was already assigned so much work I thought my head was going to explode. Then on top of it, no one there likes me. It's as if they're repulsed just by looking at me."
"I'm sure that's not the case, y/n. They just don't know you yet. Of course they're gonna look at the new girl weird." Jin said. Y/n sighed. "I know but it's just weird. I miss you guys, I don't think I'll even be able to make new friends here."
Jin chuckled. "You say that now but I'm sure you'll meet some amazing people. You just have to give it some time." Jin says reassuringly. "Thanks." Y/n sighed as she leaned back into the couch. "Thank you for that text this morning, I really needed it." Y/n smiled.
"Of course. I wanted you to know you could do it and you did! I'm proud of you, baby." Jin said, bringing a smile to y/n's face. Jin was always so sweet and supportive. He really is the best boyfriend anyone could ever ask for.
Y/n was lucky to have him. Jin means everything to her and there's not a day that goes by where she isn't grateful to have him. Jin is a literal angel. "I love you, you know that right?" Y/n asked and Jin smiled instantly.
"Of course I know that. I love you too, more than you know." Jin said. Y/n wanted to reach into the phone and pull Jin out of the screen. She wanted him beside her, right here with her. Y/n wanted to be in Jin's arms again. Then everything would be okay.
"How was work for you?" Y/n asked as she looked around the room. "It was good. We have a concert tomorrow so we're in the studio practicing right now." Jin said. "This late? You guys always work yourselves so hard." Y/n said, thinking back to all the times they stayed up all night practicing.
"Practice makes perfect." Jin says and y/n scoffs. "You guys already are perfect." Y/n says and Jin retorts with "Exactly, it's all of the practicing." Y/n laughed, missing Jin's silliness. Well, she just missed him in general.
"You should rest. I'm sure tomorrow will be a busy day for you as well." Jin said and y/n agreed, knowing it most definitely would be. "Don't work yourself too hard. You need to be healthy." Y/n frowned.
"I will! But sleep, okay? I'll text you tomorrow when I get the time. I love you." Jin said. Y/n's heart warmed at Jin's words. "I love you too." Y/n said, wishing she could kiss him right now. As if Jin had read her mind, he says "I really wish I could kiss you right now."
Y/n's face lights up instantly, smiling from ear to ear. "Me too." She says, the feeling strong. "Soon" Jin says and that makes y/n smile wider. "But sleep now, Goodnight." Jin says and y/n mumbles back a goodnight too before they end the call.
Letting out a breath, y/n stands up and makes her way to her bedroom. Instantly upon getting inside, y/n crashes onto her bed. She was too tired to eat, too tired to unpack more, too tired to even move.
All y/n wanted to do right now was sleep and sleep she did.
-
The next day, y/n sat at her desk, staring at her laptop with unamused eyes. Today's work was even longer than yesterday's. Now she knew why she was being paid more. She had even more work then her old job.
Even though y/n didn't want to do the work, she had to. This was her job and in order to make it in the real world, she had no choice but to work. Y/n let out a soft sigh as she leaned back in her chair.
Y/n thought about when she would be able to see Jin and the guys next. Although she had just gotten here yesterday it already seemed as if she had been away from the guys for months. She already missed them so much.
A knock on y/n's office door pulled her from her thoughts. Looking up, she spotted her boss poking his head through the door. "Meeting in five." Is all he says before disappearing from the room.
A meeting? Y/n wasn't even aware she needed to attend one. Seeing as y/n never did at her old job, she was a bit taken back. She had never sat in on a meeting before. Would she have to speak in front of everyone? The thought was stomach twisting.
Y/n stood up and made her way out to the main area where she found everyone in the office, gathered together. They were all heading towards the big room covered by glass walls and a giant table inside.
Y/n gulped, feeling her nerves rise. One by one, everyone piled into the office room. Y/n sat down next to some random person that didn't even glance over at her. Y/n pulled her lips in and watched as her boss entered the room.
"Good morning everyone!" He spoke as he walked over to the head of the table. "Today's meeting is short and simple yet very important." He started as he set down a folder full of papers.
"Take one of these papers and pass it down. We need to go over a few things really quickly." Mr. Wang said as he shifted the folder down. One by one, everyone took a paper until everyone had one.
"Okay, firstly, I would like to welcome y/n into our company. She just transferred over from the Seoul building and I would really like for all of you to make her feel welcome." Mr. Wang said, giving me a slight smile.
"From what I've heard from her previous boss, she's quite the hard worker." Mr. Wang continued. "So please be respectful of those above you, learn a thing or two from her." He says and y/n is taken back by his words.
It was as if he didn't want anyone here to like her. That would surely make people think she was uptight or trying to be a know it all. Y/n didn't want to be known as that. Still, y/n didn't say anything.
"Now, let's look at this paper then you guys can go." Mr. Wang started and y/n looked down at the paper, her eyes skimming over the words. The paper was basically just summing up how they could make the company better and what not.
-
After the meeting, y/n made her way to her office. On the way there she spotted the same group of girls from yesterday. They were all looking at her, their voices in a gossiping whisper.
Y/n shook her head, sensing that they were clearly young and immature. Just as y/n went to walk away, she heard something that ruined her mood completely and made her very upset.
"I'm surprised she even works. I was sure she would be leaching off all of her boyfriend's money. You know she's only with Jin because he's famous."
-
The rest of the day that was all y/n could think about. How dare they say that when that damn well wasn't the case. Y/n had met Jin way before he was famous and even if she hadn't, y/n loves Jin for him, not his money.
Now y/n understood why everyone here avoided her. No one wanted to be associated with someone they thought was only with a guy for his money. These girls gossiping seemed like a group of high school girls that had nothing better to do with their lives.
Now y/n felt upset and angry. All she wanted to do was go home and call Jin; she wanted to hear his voice. Right now all she wanted was Jin. He would be able to make all the bad go away. Yet y/n knew..she couldn't have him.
Packing up her things, y/n headed out of the office, passing by the same group of girls as before. When she heard one of them scoff, y/n turned on her heels, coming face to face with them.
"Do you have a problem?" Y/n asked, her blood boiling as their words replayed in her head once again. "Yeah, I do, I have a problem when I see a girl pretending to work when she knows she's getting money from her boyfriend on the side."
Y/n instantly bawled her fists. "You don't know anything about my relationship. You don't know a thing about me and clearly you know nothing about Jin. Just because he's famous doesn't mean I mooch off of his money. I'm capable of making my own money." Y/n said, her voice stern and angry.
The conversation had y/n heated and it had only begun. The girls looked at her, some taken back but some not. The girl who had said what she did didn't look fazed in the slightest.
"I'm sure you are. It's probably because your sucking off the boss. Why else would he like you so fast." The girl said, snickering as she looked back at her friends. Y/n clenched her jaw. "Maybe he actually respects me and likes me because I don't have the personality of a wet mop."
"Some of us are actually decent people. That's more than you can say. If I hear my name or my boyfriend's name come out of your mouth one more time, I won't hesitate to slap that smirk right off your ugly ass face." Y/n said before turning on her heels, leaving everyone in the room to stare at her wide eyes.
Once y/n got outside and hailed a taxi, she slumped in the back seat, letting out a breath. "Long day?" The taxi driver asked, glancing back at her in the mirror. "You could definitely say that." Y/n said, looking up at him.
"At least you're making good money. Many people these days are still living with their parents and or don't have a job at all. Even if it gets hard, you should always be grateful." The guy smiles. Y/n nodded, smiling back.
Once y/n finally arrived at home, she fell back onto the couch, staring up at the ceiling. She was surrounded by quietness and her head was pounding. Too much had happened today. Tons of work, that meeting, and the conversation with the immature girls.
All y/n wanted to do was sleep her irritation away. Nothing would help change her mood besides Jin. Jin was probably going his concert right now and since he would be tired he would probably crash right after.
Y/n sighed and sat up. She hadn't even eaten at all in the past day and a half. Since she wasn't able to go shopping she had nothing here either. Y/n decided to order take out and as she waited, she scrolled through Twitter.
Y/n smiled instantly as she saw a tweet from Jin. It was a picture of him at the venue of their concert. He looked so cute y/n just wanted to squeeze his cheeks through the phone. Y/n really missed him..
Setting the phone down, y/n clicked on the tv. Since it was still relatively early, she decided to relax a bit. Then she would shower and go to sleep. Right now, she just wanted to eat and clear her mind.
All y/n could think about was how irritated she felt by those girls. They were immature and rude. They knew nothing about her and Jin and yet they judged her like they did. Rude fans were always something y/n never understood.
Wouldn't you want your favorite idols to be happy? Why deprive them of that happiness because you're bitter? Y/n never understood that part of all of this. There really was fans who absolutely hated her for being with Jin.
Shaking the thought, y/n flipped through the channels and waited for her food to arrive. Right now, it would be the only thing to fill the lonely that Jin couldn't.
