Goodbye

Three days later she went home,
but just before she left my house she turned around one last time.

,,I love you."
She said these words as if she'd been waiting for that one moment.

,,Thanks for everything you've done for me. Thank you for your love and protection.
You were the only person I could count on. Thank you for giving me what I never had before in my life."
I was engrossed in her words, I couldn't take my eyes off her.

,,Which is love.
You were always by my side, thank you so much."
Her soft hands reached for my face and she kissed me.

Her lips felt perfect on mine, I never wanted to let go.
I was hoping time would stop.
It was never going to stop, this feeling inside me was so incredibly beautiful.
Please don't take this away from me,
I want to keep it like that forever.

,,Goodbye."
She whispered in her soft voice.

Everything inside me felt numb.
When she turned and left,
I wanted to run after her and tell her not to go.

It felt like goodbye for eternity.

And I was right about that.
