27 | The Moment I Knew

Respect another person's taste of music. It is a kind of manners.

The Moment I Knew
(Taylor Swift)

Peter Parker

Peter Parker is officially an alcoholic, according to Ned.

He messed up his line shooting the movie twice this morning, he couldn't keep his mind off of the thought of you, and how did his life become such a mess.

"You're going to be okay, dude?" He asked, patting Peter's shoulder.

"Yeah..." Peter said, he splashed the water on his face again, It dripped everywhere.

"You should start from stop drinking."

   "But it helps."

"For what? Become an insane person?" Ned rolled his eyes. "You should just cancel this movie, write songs again and go back to her."

"You don't understand, Ned."

"I don't understand, what? You love her, why breaking her heart? You can't say you don't love her, but you wouldn't be with her either."

"..."

"Stupid-man." Ned said.

"You're not helping."

"Of course, not."

The breaking room opened up with Michelle, she was also a star in this movie. Peter noticed her and he wiped his face with a napkin.

"You're alright?" She asked.

"Yup. Be right there MJ." Peter faked a little smile, she nodded, put her curly hair behind her ear and walked out.

Ned who was watching everything curled up his lips. "MJ... really?..."

"Yeah. Michelle Jones, MJ." He played dumb.

   "Ha."

   "She gives advice."

"Sure. It's (Y/n)'s birthday and you would rather shoot this stupid god-awful movie with MJ." Ned mocked and he headed out the door.

He stopped before he left. "Oh, and one more thing, even if today you wouldn't go to her birthday party, I will."

You

There's always something about a birthday. This heavy feeling of growing up and expectations, this tiredness made a hole in my heart.

Every of my birthday is different from each other, some I enjoy them, some I even forgot it was supposed to be special, some are just depressing, one thing I can't avoid on my birthday is crying.

At the end of the day I always cry over little things, I hope to god today will end the cycle, I hope to god Peter will come.

I looked at myself through the mirror, I was in my (Favorite/Color) dress, with my hair tied up and my lips red.

I look so unhappy, considering I am the person with 230 million net worth. Come on. Smile. I told me then smiled awkwardly at myself, I'm supposed to be happy today.

The party just started and people are starting to show up, Dylan Lane was the first to arrive, I can't believe him, then my best friends, and then the people I've worked with like Loki and Thor Odinsons, they had an awkward reunion with each other that I thought was cute.

I opened up the door and walked downstairs. Everything looked so beautiful and perfect, all the decorations were taken care by Natasha and she knew just what I liked.

"(Y/n)! Happy birthday!" Steve said and pulled me for a hug, he kissed my forehead.

"Aw, thanks, grandpa." I teased and kissed his cheek back, he put a gift in my hands.

"Can't believe my little girl is nineteen now." He smiled.

The other gathered up to take polaroid pictures with me, I hung them up the walls, the last space was left empty, I saved the spot for him.

We sang my songs and talked about what has happened, then we enjoyed the cake and got drunk with wines.

I opened up the gifts, they were all to my liking, I could at least smile on those moments because everyone cared to remember things I love.

Tony Stark couldn't make it but he sent his gift, it was a 5000 dollars check, with a note simply written. I don't know what to give you, take the money and buy them yourself.

That was shocking enough, but then Shuri arrived and she gave me a diamond necklace worth fucking half a million dollars.

Lyrics is changed a little

This day could've been so amazing, I knew it could've fixed the broken part in me, only he wasn't there. And of course, everyone knows me, when it all goes wrong after that day, I made it into a song.

You should've been there,
Should've burst through the door,
With that 'baby I'm right here' smile.

And it would've felt like,
A million little shining stars had just aligned,
And I would've been so happy.

"(Y/n)! Happy birthday!" People said and we hugged, but my mind wasn't with any of them.

All the lights glisten,
I've got my eye on the door,
Just waiting for you to walk in,

But the time is ticking,
People ask me how I've been.
As I comb back through my memory.

My smile was harder and harder to put on as I thought of,

How you said you'd be here,
You said you'd be here.

And it was like slow motion, Standing there in my party dress, In red lipstick, With no one to impress. And they're all laughing. As I'm looking around the room, But there was one thing missing, and that was the moment I knew.

I stumbled on my own where nobody could see me, but it was my party and people will notice, even Ned is here, and he knew our situations.

And the hours pass by,
Now I just wanna be alone,
But your close friends always seem to know.
When there's something really wrong,
So they follow me down the hall.

I escaped myself for a moment alone, away from all the noises.

And there in the bathroom,
I try not to fall apart,
And the sinking feeling starts,
As I say hopelessly,

"He said he'd be here." I whispered and my tears dropped.

And it was like slow motion,
Standing there in my party dress,
In red lipstick,
With no one to impress,
And they're all laughing,
And asking me about you,
But there was one thing missing,
And that was the moment I knew.

What do you say, when tears are streaming down your face. In front of everyone you know?

And what do you do when the one who means the most to you, Is the one who didn't show?

Everyone tried to cheer me up but my heart was far gone, this birthday is just like any other, I ended up with tears no matter how hard I try to avoid them.

   Because you should've been here.

And I would've been so happy.

And it was like slow motion,
Standing there in my party dress,
In red lipstick,
With no one to impress,
And they're all standing around me singing,
"Happy birthday to you",
But there was one thing missing,
And that was the moment I knew.

What happened to us? What happened to the fire in our bones? All I ask was for him to show up, is that too much? I know his dreams are important to him, but at least have someplace for me, take it a little easy if this is the end.

   But he called me later.

And said, "I'm sorry, I didn't make it."

And I said, "I'm sorry too."

And that was the moment I knew,

   He wasn't right for me.

Peter Parker

The party has already started and Peter's eyes were on the clock, he was hesitated of what to do, he knew he should be there but the set is not over.

"Can we wrap this up?" He asked the director.

"There are 5 scenes left, what do you mean wrap this up?" The director asked back.

"I was hoping we could shoot on another day."

"Don't be so unprofessional, I know as a singer you get everything you want your way, but as an actor, it's another thing. It's not just you, look at all the other actresses, they could've gone anywhere else today, too, but they're here." The director said annoyedly and walked away.

Parker looked at the clock again.

   "(Y/n)'s birthday?" Michelle asked him.

With his eyes on the wall still, he nodded.

   "How unfortunate." She muttered.

"I already said the words to her."

   "Well, I'm sure she'll understand."

"She wouldn't. We usually have things our ways, she already hates it that now I act and not sing, she wouldn't understand that I have to be here not by my choices." He said, still he still hesitated if he should fuck it all and go there.

"I don't know much between you and her, but..." Michelle said, the tone of voice she uses when she gives advice. "I'm sure they'll be plenty of people there for her."

   "I know."

"No. But like, as a girl if I just recently get hurt from a boy, I wouldn't want to see him on my birthday."

Peter looked at Michelle. "But she called...?"

"Doesn't mean she needs you there. Just-- imagine, okay? Everyone is there for her with plenty of gifts, they'll be music and she will be singing with them, she'll blow the candles of the cake and make the happiest wish, do you want to be there and ruin it for her?" She asked.

Peter thought to himself and nodded slowly. "No... I guess."

"Just a way of thinking." She smiled.

Peter Parker ended up finishing the rest of the day in the set, he tried not to look at the clock no more and focused on his work.

Time flies and it was all finally over, he looked at the time in his phone and sighed, the party was over and he wasn't there.

So he called you later, and said. "I'm sorry, I didn't make it."

And you said. "I'm sorry, too."

And that was the moment he knew,

   He doesn't deserve you.
