Chapter 2
Y/n twirled the dagger in her hand. She didn't know how long she slept, but didn't have much care. She wondered if anyone would find her, or if they even had a clue. She was glad that she didn't have pets. Y/n saw the sun rise over her wall, and decided it was time to get to work.
Y/n had mined out two rooms and a hallway connecting them, allowing her the cobblestone to construct an additional walled area and tower to overlook it. Remembering that new items were available to make, Y/n tried to make a bucket with wood, only for it to not work.
"Fuck." Y/n complained, realizing that she needed iron. Y/n had already made a stone pickaxe and axe. She didn't feel comfortable using a full sized sword yet, so she stuck to the dagger. After failing to make cobblestone armor, Y/n sucked up her fears and started climing the mountain she built her base into the side of.
Y/n didn't dare look down as she climbed. She eventually made it to the top. The only thing that awaited her? Copper ore exposed on a stone patch. Y/n mined it despite it's uselessness in the base game, remembering that some mods used copper to make tools and armor.
(Fun fact! Apparently copper tools and armor were used in the past! Now I can put 'Educational' in the tags!)
Y/n mined up a stack before stopping. She still didn't know if it was useless or not yet. But before she went down she took a few minutes to survey her surroundings. Is was mostly the same as she had seen yesterday. A plains biome on the edge of a badlands and jungle biome.
I say mostly since she saw something that very much intrested her. A village not far from her little fort. It was blocked from her normal view by a decent sized hill. Y/n couldn't tell if it was inhabited or not though. It's a place to visit in the future though.
'Maybe I can try and move in.' Y/n thought as she began the process of climbing down. It was rough, and also involed taking a landing too hard, losing a heart. Finally, she was down and was about to enter her fort when a voice called out. "Player!" A male voice yelled.
Y/n quickly brought out her dagger as she turned, only to see a normally refreshing sight. A wandering trader. She watched as he approached, two llamas leashed to his hand. "Hello." Y/n greeted, her first sentient contact since she was brought here.
"Greetings Ma'am. May I ask if you would be interested in some items not from around here?" The trader asked. "I dont have much to pay with." Alyssa said, wondering if trading was the same like the game. "Ah, dont worry! I'm a man of business! We can work something out." The trader said.
He laid down a blanket before unloading items from the chests attached to the llamas. Many things caught Y/n's eye, most looking like it cost a lot. "I have a stack of raw copper, an unused stone dagger, and two stacks of cobblestone." Y/n laid out what she could trade.
"Hmm." The trader thought before sorting some items into the main area of the blanket. "Do you have any use for player recipe books?" The trader asked. "Yes. What kinds do you have?" Y/n asked.
"One for farm supplies and tools, and one for basic furniture. I'll take thirty two copper for both, and I'll throw in these pages for steel aswell." The trader offered. "Deal." Y/n said, retrieving the copper from her hotbar. She was surprised when the trader put down a smaller blanket for her to put the copper in.
Noticing her surprise, the trader quickly explained. "Sorry, but if a non player touches a player made compression of items directly, it'll expand to the amount as if a non player mined it." "Wait, what else can us players do?" Y/n asked, trying to gage what she can do now.
"Besides the compression, your weapons are made to prefection at your crafting tables, each ingot you smelt are pure, and you can bypass some of the hard processes of making stuff at your table, such as turning flowers into a pure dye instantly. You also have a better time breeding and taming animals." The trader explained.
"I see." Alyssa said, taking in how much easier she has it then the various ecosystems of Minecraft. "Well, the amount seems to be in order. Please do keep in mind some ideas in the books may be outdated, but they still work." The trader explained.
Y/n nodded before taking the books and three ripped pages. She looked at the remaining items in the center of the blanket. A single iron ingot, a spruce sapling, and eight pieces of leather. "How much for the rest of them?" Y/n asked. "That dagger, and one stack of cobblestone." The trader answered.
Y/n nodded, putting the stack of cobblestone in another small blanket, and handed the dagger to the trader directly. "Well, I hope you have a good day ma'am." The trader said, packing up. "You too sir." Y/n replied politely.
The two parted ways as Y/n entered her little fort. She entered the first room in, her storage and workshop room. She put the remaining half stack into a furnace before putting all the items she got except the books into the double chest. She sat in her oak chair, reading the farming book first.
Y/n read the books until the copper was done smelting. She then put in wood, needing the charcoal for future projects. She wasn't worried about food, the book saying that she could go without food, water, and sleep for a lot longer than everyone else.
The sun set once again as she got to work crafting what she could, her plans going into action when the sun rose.
(994 words. That's including the note in the middle. Also, here's a recreation of I wrote, so that you dont have to imagine the layout if you dont want too. You can also disregard this if you wanna imagine what it looks like yourself.)
(Just now realizing you can get past the second wall to the far left by simply jumping over. Lol)
