En el primer capitulo de mi libro, he decidido hablar sobre aquello que se nos esconde a simple vista. Me refiero, a todas esas cosas que los medios nos presentan solo una vez, para luego dejar de hablar al respecto. En este caso, abordaré el tema de los inquietantes y extravagantes Tigón y Ligre.

TIGÓN

TIGON

Según Wikipedia, resumidamente, un TIGÓN es un híbrido entre un tigre macho y una leona.

According to Wikipedia, briefly, a TIGON is a hybrid between a male tiger and a lioness.  

Los tigones presentan características de los dos progenitores, con aspecto de leones con rayas de tigres. Crecen menos que las especies de origen, debido a que heredan, de la leona, genes inhibidores de crecimiento, pero no presentan ningún tipo de enanismo . Generalmente pesan cerca de 180 kg.

The tigons present characteristics of the two progenitors, with the appearance of lions with tiger stripes. They grow less than the species of origin, because they inherit growth-inhibiting genes from the lioness, but do not present any type of dwarfism. They usually weigh about 180 kg.

Generalmente, los tigones son estériles. Sin embargo, una tigona de nombre Noelle en la se apareó con un tigre y produjo un "ti-tigón", aunque no se conocen casos de machos fértiles.

Generally, the tigones are sterile. However, a tigona named Noelle in the mated with a tiger and produced a "ti-tigón", although there are no known cases of fertile males.

LIGRE

LIGRE

El ligre es el producto del cruce entre un león y una tigresa. Su aspecto es el de un gigantesco león con rayas de tigre difusas,su pelaje es entre el naranja y el amarillo. Al igual que los leones, los ligres macho desarrollan melena. Su nombre científico es Panthera leo × tigris. Hay quienes a la hembra del ligre la llaman legresa​ o ligresa.​

The ligre is the product of the cross between a lion and a tigress. Its appearance is that of a giant lion with diffuse tiger stripes, its fur is between orange and yellow. Like lions, male flirts develop mane. Its scientific name is Panthera leo × tigris. There are those who call the female of the ligre legresa or ligresa.

  Es precisamente la acción del hombre la responsable de que existan los ligres. Aunque antiguamente coexistieron en Persia, India, China  y probablemente en Belgiria; los hábitos de sus progenitores son muy diferentes (predominantemente diurno y al descubierto el león, más nocturno y forestal el tigre), lo que hacía improbable su cruce natural.

It is precisely the action of man that is responsible for the existence of ligres. Although formerly they coexisted in Persia, India, China and probably in Belgiria; the habits of their progenitors are very different (predominantly diurnal and bare the lion, more nocturnal and forest the tiger), which made their natural crossing unlikely.
