Chapter 29 - Let's Dance
"Ey, senior Harris!" A voice called.
Sebastian, Ben, and Kaitlyn glanced over to see a trio of birds coming their way. The one to the left was a red chicken wearing a sombrero, and a red cowboy outfit. The one in the middle was a green parrot wearing a yellow jacket with black pants, a white hat and held an umbrella in his hand. Finally the one to the right was a very familiar white duck wearing a blue sailor outfit.
Their names were Panchito, Jose, and Donald, but together they were known as The Three Caballeros.
"Panchito!" Sebastian greeted with a wide smile on his face. "Thanks again for letting us do this."
"Oh, it's no problemo," The chicken insisted. "Anything for the Disney Wizards."
"And young love," Jose added, looking over at the pair at the center of the stage. "From what I am seeing, it looks like they rekindled their candle of love!"
"I say this calls for a celebration!" Donald cheered.
"Right you are, Donald!" Panchito agreed. "Go get the guitar!"
********
Right as Santiago pulled me into an embrace, the lights in the room began to fade, a giant spotlight shining brightly in the center of the room, right on top of us.
"What's going on...?" I spoke slowly.
Santiago loosened his arms, scanning the room. "I think I might have an idea."
"Wha--?" Before I could speak any further, the strumming of guitar strings caught my attention.
I looked up to the stage to see Donald Duck playing a acoustic guitar, standing next to Kaitlyn who was sitting on a stool with a microphone in her hand.
"The weekend's almost done
The moon is low in the sky
I feel like going out
Before the night passes by
I won't just sit around
When life becomes a drag..."
The music died down as the atmosphere became a little intense. Kaitlyn sat up from her stool, raising her hand in the air as she snapped her fingers.
"I dance!"
Kaitlyn used her illusion magic to summon a band of musical instruments on stage to perform with Donald. The drum set, bass guitar, and keyboard played on their own as Donald jammed out on his guitar, Jose and Panchito dancing along with him. This caught the customers attention and soon a whole folk of them came onto the dance floor and danced with their partners.
Santiago tapped his foot to the beat of the song. He slowly found himself getting lost into the music, so much in fact that he took my hand, spun me around and then tipped me! He was like Buzz Lightyear salsa dancing while stuck in his "Spanish Mode".
"Sorry, I don't know what came over me," He apologized, a cheap smile on his face.
I don't know if the music was starting to get to me too, or if I was just copying Santiago for the heck of it, or if I was continuing the obvious Pixar reference, but I moved back up, then spun him around in a circle before tipping him as well, just as the music stopped suddenly.
"To quote Jessie from Toy Story 3," I spoke, a grin creeping its way onto my lips. "Just go with it."
Santiago grinned playfully back at me as Donald played a series of chords on his guitar. My boyfriend gently plucked the rose he gave me from my fingers and took a bite on the stem, grasping the flower with his teeth as the two of us stood back straight.
The music began to play again as Santiago and I danced with the rest of the crowd, Kaitlyn beginning to sing.
"I like the bass
I like the boom
I need guitar
I like that drum,
When it goes..."
Everyone stopped dancing as they raised their fists in the air, joining her as they all fist bumped the air in the beat of the drum.
"Boom, boom, boom!"
Kaitlyn jumped down from the stage, joining the two of us as we all stood in a triangular shape, the rest of the dancers backing up to give us some space as we danced along to the chorus.
I hadn't danced like this since Middle School where in gym class we had to learn how to salsa dance and learn how to dance the tango. Now that was a interesting semester.
"Let's dance!
For the weekend,
What the night is all about,
Let's dance!
Grab your girlfriends,
Grab your boyfriends,
Sweat it out,
Let's dance!
Move your whole body,
And let's start the party..."
I stepped up beside Kaitlyn, placing an arm on her shoulder as we both chanted into the microphone.
"Too much rock for one girl can make her go crazy,
I need someone to dance with me baby,
Dance!"
I went back to dancing with Santiago as Kaitlyn danced on her own, continuing to sing as she occasionally glanced over at Sebastian who was standing next to Ben in the crowd of Disney characters, just enjoying themselves and casually dancing to the beat.
"The music's on
My favourite song
The beat is strong,"
However what she didn't notice when she looked away, Sebastian literally moon walked his way over towards her, the crowd hooting and hollering at the sight of his impressive move. Then he spun around and extending his hand towards Kaitlyn, inviting her to dance with him. The orange haired girl looked at the boy, a hint of surprise on her face. She smiled at him, as she quickly took his hand and pulled him closer to her.
"We'll dance,"
The two of them made their way towards Santiago and I, the four of us getting into a line as we danced along to the chorus again, this time a few Disney characters dancing with us in the background behind us.
"Let's dance!
For the weekend,
What the night is all about,
Let's dance!
Grab your girlfriends,
Grab your boyfriends,
Sweat it out,
Let's dance!
Move your whole body,
And let's start the party..."
A single spotlight flashed onto me and Kaitlyn as the music seized playing.
"Too much rock for one girl can make her go crazy,
I need someone to dance with me baby,
Dance!"
When the music kicked back in, Sebastian took Kaitlyn's hand and reeled her back towards him, as the pair performed a duet together. I couldn't help but watch them with such marvel. Those two were incredible together, and they were so in sync. At point near the end when the sound of the flute played in the song, Sebastian placed his hands on Kaitlyn's hips, and literally picked her up and flipped her in the air!
The audience cheered at their performance as Kaitlyn snapped her fingers again before pointing over at Santiago and I. "Back it up!"
The music grew more intense as Santiago guided me towards the center of the dance floor, the spotlight shining on us now. It was only then when I realized that Santiago still had the stem of the rose in his mouth.
He took it out, using his magic to erase the stem, before securing the rose into the locks of my hair. "You ready?"
"Ready," I smiled.
The two of us got position and began to dance.
(Authors Note: Start the video with the volume on mute and at 23 seconds. Start this with when you hear the set of lyrics from the song below. The dance moves actually fit quite well with the song!)

"When the night says hello
Yeah get ready to go
Turn it up
Turn it loose
Yeah, you've got no excuse..."
The two of us spun around, each striking a pose before side stepped to our lefts, then to our rights while linking our arms with each other as did so. Then Santiago took my hand, spinning me around before I zipped over to his right side as he slammed his foot to the floor. I then swiftly moved to his left as he reached his other hand out, leaning on his right knee as the two of us spun around again with me returning to his right side. He twirled me around twice before we link hands with each, extending my right and his left arm out a head of us as we as we strut across the floor before sliding to our knees. Then to finish it off, while crouched down, Santiago spun me around again before tipping me back, using his knee to support my back.
"Just take a chance,
Get out on the floor and dance!"
It was part of the same dance routine Buzz and Jessie did at the end of Toy Story 3!
The crowd was going crazy at this point as Santiago helped me back up to my feet as Kaitlyn and Sebastian regrouped with us. Ben even joined us as well with his own dance partner.
"Let's dance!
For the weekend,
What the night is all about
Let's dance!
Grab your girlfriends
Grab your boyfriends
Sweat it out,
Let's dance!
Yeah-he-he-yeah!
Let's start the party!"
The group did some fancy salsa foot stomping before getting back into the groove of the chorus.
"Let's dance!
For the weekend,
What the night is all about
Let's dance!
Grab your girlfriends
Grab your boyfriends
Sweat it out,
Let's dance!
Move your whole body,
And let's start the party!"
The music stopped again as the spotlight shined on everyone on the dance floor, everyone exclaiming the last bit of the song.
"As soon as my album goes number one,
Mr. Lim I'd like a Rolex with forty diamonds!"
We finished it off with Santiago and I crossing our arms and our backs against each other, striking a pose.
"Ole!" The Three Caballeros cheered.

After the dance was over, Santiago bought the two of us some lemonade as we both made our way up to the very top of the temple in the Mexico Pavilion. The current time in the world of Disney was night. The stars were out, shining brightly in the sky.
"Well, that was exhilarating," Santiago commented.
"Yeah, I knew you could dance and all," I giggled. "But I wasn't expecting that."
"That's what happens when all those Middle School lessons, and watching Buzz Lightyear pay off," he teased, taking a sip of his drink. "I think it was worth it."
"You were great," I complimented. "You should dance like that more often."
"I'll make a note of that for the future," Santiago replied.
There was a brief silence after that as I took a sip of my drink, taking in the scenery around us. Santiago coughed suddenly, catching my attention.
"Listen, I wanted to talk to you about something."
"Sure thing." I nodded.
He waved over to a ledge, as the two of us sat down side by side. We took a quick moment for the two of us to get settled before I looked over at his face.
"So, what did you want to talk to me about?"
"About me," He clarified. "Me, and well, the secret."
"Right..." I spoke slowly.
"Again, I'm very sorry for not telling you that I am-- that I was, a Disney Wizard," He began. "Believe me, I want to tell you. About the Wizards, Ben, Sebastian, all of it."
"But it was against the rules, and of course being the goody-goody that you are, you had to follow the rules." I elaborated.
"Pretty much," he reluctantly agreed, curling his lips into his mouth.
"But we've already been over this before, and I've forgiven you," I added. "Santi, I'm not mad at you. Disappointed maybe, but not mad. So what is it this time?"
He sighed, taking one more sip of his drink before setting it down to the side, fully turning his head to meet my gaze. "The thing is, I'm not just the original Illusionist of this team."
Okay, I was lost now. What the heck was he talking about. I raised a brow at my boyfriend, looking completely and utterly confused. "What do you mean?"
"Did Sebastian and Ben tell you the story? About how I left?" he asked.
I thought back to my first day of coming to the World of Disney. Ben brought me to Cinderella's Castle where I met Sebastian, Mickey, and Mushu. Then after that meeting as we were leaving, the boys were telling me this story.
I nodded at the dark haired boy. "Yeah, they mentioned something about a new girl joining the team and it turns out it was his girlfriend so in order her to stand a chance in joining the Wizards, he had to---"
Suddenly it all just magically pieced together itself in my mind. Santiago could sense this as well as his eyes softened, nodding with confirmation.
"Wizards aren't supposed to date other Wizards," he spoke. "In order to give you the chance to join our ranks, I had to leave."
"You left... because of me?" I questioned, my voice beginning to quiver.
I didn't want it to sound so harsh. I just couldn't believe what I was hearing! In order for me, the apparent "Chosen One", to join the Disney Wizards and have a good chance of saving Walt Disney's creations, the love of my life had to leave the organization, just because we were dating.
"Well," Santiago laughed quietly, sitting up from the ledge as he walked over to the edge of the temple. "Did you honestly think I was going to even try and keep you away from all of this?"
He waved his hands through the air, indicating the scenery around us. From the top of the temple you could see all of Epcot, and Cinderella's castle in the Magic Kingdom off in the distance, the small sparks of the fireworks going off around it.
I stood up from my spot on the ledge as he turned around to face me. "I just couldn't do it. I wanted to give you the chance you deserved. I knew that if anyone could protect this place with all of the Disney passion, soul and spark they could carry, it was you."
"I appreciate that," I spoke, making my way towards him. "But now that you're here, one of the most strongest and toughest Disney Wizards in history, I have an even greater chance."
He blushed a little, scratching his head as he glanced to the side. "Well, I don't know about that."
"Ben and Sebastian said so themselves," I replied. "And I believe them."
Santiago's head perked up as he turned his head back to face me. A smile crept up on his face as he stepped closer towards me, wrapping an arm around my shoulders as she gently pulled me into an embrace. "Tell them I said thanks for the compliment."
"You're welcome," A male voice spoke up.
The two of us jumped, yelps escaping our lips as we turned around to see Ben, Sebastian, and Kaitlyn standing just in front of the archway to the lower levels of the temple.
"Not cool, dude, I could have fallen over the edge," Santiago panted, placing a hand over his chest.
"Sorry about that," Sebastian apologized. "Didn't mean to startle you two."
"Why didn't you guys knock?" I questioned them, tucking a lock of my hair behind my ear.
"You see! I told you we should have knocked," Kaitlyn scowled, slapping Sebastian in the back of the head. "They were clearing having a moment, and you just had to go and ruin it!"
"Not that I don't enjoy you scowling Seb like a child, Kaitlyn," Ben intervened, waving his hand. "But can we please move on?"
"Right, right, right, sorry!" Kaitlyn's eyes widened, shaking her head as she looked over at the young couple before them. "Anyways, I filled Ben and Sebastian in on the situation with your cousins."
My mouth gaped open after hearing those words. "Oh crap---!" I hissed, stomping my foot in frustration as I turned, placing a hand on my forehead.
"What situation, what's going on?" Santiago asked with concern. "Are they alright?"
"They're fine, physically," I assured. "Mentally? Probably not."
"Why?" He questioned.
I huffed a sigh, sitting back down on the ledge as I took one more sip of my lemonade. "When I got back the real world, I still had a little troubling breathing because of my neck. I ended up blacking out and woke up back at my hotel room. They popped by to check up on me when Kaitlyn called and wanted me to meet up with you guys. They started asking questions and I just, well..."
"What did you do?" Santiago asked, placing his hands on his hips.
"... I teleported in front of them."
"What?!" He shrieked.
"There was nothing else I could do!" I stated. "They were practically circling me like the vultures from The Jungle Book!"
"Long story short, Avalyn's been compromised," Ben explained. "This leads us with two options."
"And those are?" Santiago questioned.
"One; Avalyn revokes her rank as a Wizard, but I'm pretty sure we know that's not going to happen," Ben announced. "Two; We bring your cousins here and have their memories altered so they don't remember seeing you teleport."
"You mean, erase them?" Sebastian corrected with a tad attitude.
"I think the other one sounds less... horrible." Ben admitted.
"No," I shook my head, looking up at the blonde. "I don't like either of those options."
"Then what do you suggest we do?" Ben questioned, crossing his arms.
"Why not just let them in on the secret?" Kaitlyn suggested.
"You can't be serious---"
"Wait!" I spoke up, sitting up from the ledge as I joined the little circle of friends. " She's on to something... What about a third option?"
"Third option?" Ben repeated.
"We can let them in on the secret," I began. "But I know a better way in doing so."
My friends exchanged a series of glances at each other before returning their gazes towards me.
"You don't mean---?" Sebastian spoke.
"Are you sure about this?" Santiago cautioned with concern. "These are your cousins, family members!"
"I've never been more sure. Besides, we need all the help we can get to fight the Dark Anomalies, remember?" I replied, slowly grinning as I placed my hands on my hips, scanning the group. "I say... we let them join."
