Chapter 21 - The Perfect Roomie
Upon exiting the bathroom, I couldn't help but feel a little tense around my female cousin.
She said she saw a flash of light coming from the room. The real question would be how much exactly did she see?
She couldn't have seen me teleport back into the real world. I had the door of my stall locked so no one could see me or get in.
But whatever the case, now that I know that Poppy, and maybe perhaps the rest of the Macht cousins are on to me, I have to be extra caution whenever I pop in and out between here and the World of Disney.
And clearly I need to think up a new excuse, because now it seems that going to the restroom isn't exactly cutting it anymore.
"Ava! Poppy! Come quick!" Vince called.
Poppy and I were making our way through the lobby of the hotel. We were on our way to meet up with the rest of the cousins when we spotted the youngest blonde male, waving over at us.
"What's up?" I asked him as the two of us drew near.
"It finally stopped raining!" He answered with an exclaim.
Me and Poppy gasped, glancing over at each other with wide smiles before the three of us took off across the room, running through the automatic sliding doors. We were instantly blinded by the bright light of the Florida sun, and I couldn't be more happy to not see it. Once our eyes adjusted, the three of us took a look around. The sky was blue, no signs of dark clouds anywhere, birds were chirping, and it was mighty warm.
"Thank goodness!" Poppy smiled. "Now we can finally continue this vacation."
"Did I tell you, or did I tell you?" I shrugged. "Rain never lasts long here."
"Come on! Let's go round up the others!" Vince yelped with excitement as he quickly ran back inside the hotel.
With a laugh Poppy and I followed him back inside, making our way towards the cafeteria.
"After nearly plummeting to my death in the underworld, drowning and almost electrocuted at Atlantica, and almost getting beaten up by a Ghost Beast created by the Dark Anomalies, I could really go for some fun right now." I thought with a grin.
"Hollywood Studios, here we come!" Vince exclaimed.
*******
"And we're here sparring and not taking some time off like Mickey asked us to, because?" Sebastian questioned as he used his red magic to summon a sword in his hand.
Ben materialized two green orbital shields in his palms, charging forward and coming at his partner with a swipe of his fist. "Because, Sebastian, we need to stay focused."
The two boys were sparring in the gymnasium of Cinderella's castle. Ben sported green sweat pants and a white tank top, while Sebastian went for the red sweatpants and shirtless look.
The British Boy dodged the blow by somersaulting to the side, trying to advance on the blonde from there. The two of them clashed weapons repeatedly as the brunette boy pushed the blonde back. The two of them locked weapons with each other, their faces just inches a part.
"That Ghost Beast back at the Haunted Mansion was one of the toughest things we've faced created by the Dark Anomalies." Ben added. "That, and their leader itself."
Sebastian with a heavy heave, shoved the blonde backwards, making him stumble. He de-materializing his shields, signalling a time out. He reached over to a nearby table, grabbing a pear from a basket. But before he could take a bite out of it, Sebastian stabbed his sword right throw it, tossing it to the side.
"Hey!" Ben yelped.
"What's the matter, Benjamin?" Sebastian mocked with a grin as he jumped up on gymnastic support beam, gracefully keeping his feet in balance. "I thought you said we had to stay focused?"
With a brow raised at the British Boy, Ben quickly grinned, chuckling under his breath as he suddenly lunged forward, jumping up onto the other side of the support beam. "Alright, Mr. Harris. You're gonna get it this time."
"Try me." Sebastian dared.
With a quick shrug, Ben jumped into the air, his shoes turning green as he slammed his feet on the beam and it violently shot up. Sebastian yelped, soaring high up before landing behind the now standing straight beam. Ben summoned his orbital shields again, throwing a fist at the brunette.
"Missed me!" He yelled, swerving his head out of the way.
Ben swung his other fist to the right.
"Try again!" Sebastian exclaimed as he dodged it again.
With a swift move of his hand, Sebastian reached in and gave Ben a wedgie. The blonde boy yelped and hissed from the pain as Sebastian let go, the band of his underwear smacking his behind.
"Hey! What did we say about the wedgie?" Ben cautioned as he turned and glared at his partner.
"Who said anything about the Dark Anomalies fighting fair?" Sebastian countered.
Ben charged at him again, the two of them clashing weapons over and over again as this time Ben pushed Sebastian back. Then with a quick, and swift move of his hand, Ben knocked the sword right out of Sebastian's hand, the weapon exploding into red flames and extinguished out of existence.
"Touche." Ben agreed.
Being the good sport he was, he allowed Sebastian to materialize a new sword. He ran, jumping up on a catapult as he soared into the air, grabbing onto a bar swing as he flew through the air.
"Show off." Ben muttered with a cheap smile as he swiped his hand, firing a green sphere as it sliced the ropes of the swing, making Sebastian plummet back down to the surface. As Sebastian was getting up, Ben kicked him back right into a painted target.
"How does it feel going on the offense for a change?" Sebastian asked him.
"You know the saying; A good defense is a good offense." Ben answered.
"True," Sebastian rolled his eyes playfully at the blonde before suddenly grabbing his wrist. He spun the boy backwards, while pinning his arm to his back and pushed the Defense Wizard down to the floor, pointing his sword at the boy's head. "But a great offense, is a less-great defense."
With a quick sigh, Ben tapped his hand on the practice mat, signalling that he had yield.
"As usual, I am the sparring champion!" Sebastian declared, releasing the blonde.
"Whatever you say." Ben rolled his eyes playfully at the British boy as he pushed himself up to his feet, Sebastian tossing him a towel. "Thanks."
"No problem." Sebastian replied, wiping the sweat off of his body. "... Hey Ben?"
"Yeah?" The blonde spoke up, wiping the sweat from his forehead.
"Do you think... Kaitlyn will ever forgive me?" Sebastian asked him.
"For real, man?" Ben raised a brow at the boy.
"Just hear me out!" Sebastian raised his hand. "Look, when she first joined the Wizards, I don't know, there was just something about her that caught my attention."
"Wait, you don't mean to tell me that you..." Ben began, making his way closer to the boy.
"I know, I know!" Sebastian hissed, gently shoving Ben's hand aside. "I know what you're going to say. It's against the rules as a Disney Wizard, and there will be consequences."
With a remorse look on his face, Ben slowly made his way to Sebastian's side at the fruit table, lowering his voice to a soft whisper. "So, you do like Kaitlyn then?"
Sebastian seemed completely surprised to hear his friend mutter the phrase out loud. His eyes widened upon looking at the blonde. "Um... Yeah."
"Then why did you let her punishment go through?" Ben asked. "If you like her so much, why didn't you defend her?"
"I took an oath before the Wizard Council remember? They made me tell nothing but the truth. I had to! ... And it's not because I was given a truth cerium." Sebastian answered.
"You were actually." Ben pointed out.
"That's besides the point!" Sebastian retaliated.
"Did you at least tell Kaitlyn that Wizards can't date each other? So she'd know the risk she was taking?" Ben asked.
"I was going to... But she seemed so nice, and sweet, I didn't want to scare her." Sebastian answered.
"Now she seems all bittersweet." Ben muttered. "Let's just be glad Kaitlyn's punishment was small. She's still a member in the ranks of the Wizards."
"Unlike, you know... Him?" Sebastian spoke up.
Ben sighed, a look of remorse as he nodded. "Yeah. Him."
"Why did he have to get banned from the Wizards all together? Was it because he was a guy?" Sebastian questioned with a hint of anger.
"The both of them had completely different cases. Kaitlyn was caught in the open, and you admitted it from the get-go. While for him, he had keeping his relationship a secret for years, and he didn't even bother to bring up the fact that the Chosen One was his girlfriend!" Ben explained.
Before Ben could continue the debate, there was a knock at the door as Mickey Mouse slipped into the room. "Oh good! You're still here!"
"We'll continue this discussion later." Sebastian whispered, leaning to Ben's side.
"Fine," Ben agreed before coughing to compose himself, speaking up. "What brings you by Mickey?"
"I have some news that could really help you guys!" Mickey smiled.
"You do?" Ben asked.
"Yep! Now I know your team has been one member short for a while, but I believe I have made a solution." Mickey answered. "I manage to pull a few strings---"
"Pull a few strings?" Sebastian repeated with a hint of excitement. "Mickey, what did you do?"
Mickey chuckled his signature laugh as he opened the main door of the room. "Allow me to introduce you to, your teams new Illusion Wizard!"
Ben and Sebastian's mouths gaped open upon hearing those words. Just what exactly did Mickey do? Did he get their old teammate back? Pulled some strings with the Wizard Council to make an exception?
But when instead a ginger haired, slim figured girl entered the room, it was like the room around the boys completely shattered around them.
"I believe you three already know each other quite well." Mickey recalled.
"Hello Ben..." The girl smiled at the blonde turned her attention to the British boy, losing the life in her face instantly as it went blank. "...Sebastian."
The boy gulped, completely lost for words as he stuttered out the name. "H-e-e-ey, K-K-Kaitlyn."
