Chapter 16 - Under The Sea

Okay, Wattpad is glitching the create mode again. SO! If the chapter doesn't end with Avalyn, Ben, and Sebastian "leaving the room", then that is NOT THE END OF THE CHAPTER! I'll be uploading this on my mobile as it seems to work there. Other than that, if you don't get that exact ending, then something's wrong cause it's not showing the entire chapter :/

******

When the boys and I stepped through Hade's exit portal, the three of us felt like we had been splashed with cold water. That's when I realized, we were! Once we stepped through the portal, we were floating in water!

I wasn't prepared for it either. I placed my hands over my mouth and nose, shutting my eyes shut. Me and water don't exactly go well together. Unless I have my goggles, then I can swim underwater to my hearts content! But without them, I'm pretty sure I would drown, and that's what I was pretty much doing when I realized we were under the sea.

I felt a hand on my shoulder, and then suddenly, it was like I could breathe again. I slowly opened my eyes to see the green energy suit around me, looking over to see Ben with his hand on my shoulder.

I nodded in reply, giving my thanks as I glanced over at the two boys. They were holding their breath, eyes widen and air bubbles popping out of their nose on occasion. Of course they would be trained for something like this! I literally just joined the Disney Wizards a few days ago!

Sebastian pointed upward, indicating that we swim up to the surface. Ben and I nodded in reply as we swam our way up, seeing schools of fish pass us by. I saw the light of the sun, and it's strange reflection against the surface of the water.

Moments later, the three of us popped our heads out into the surface, taking loud and heavy breathes.

"Okay, of all the places Hade's portal leads to, it just HAD to be in the middle of the ocean!" I coughed.

"Any ideas exactly where we're at Sebastian?" Ben asked the British boy.

"Hmm... From up here, not exactly," he spoke, taking a look around. "I don't see any land anywhere," He took a deep breath, dunking his head into the water. He stayed like that for a few moments before sticking his head back out, looking over to me and Ben with a grin on his face. "But down below? I have an idea."

"Where?" I asked him.

"Take a look." He spoke, dunking his head back in.

I glanced over at Ben who simply shrugged at me before following his friend's lead. With no other option, I followed suit, dunking my head back in with a deep breath. With Ben's shielded suit protecting me, I opened my eyes slowly, taking a look around at the depth's below.

Sebastian tapped my shoulder, pointing in a certain direction. I followed the trail of his finger, spotting a very familiar golden city, hiding at the bottom of the sea. My eyes widened as I muffled a yelp of joy, sticking my head out of the water again as the boys followed my lead.

"Is that Atlantica?!" I rose my voice with excitement.

"You bet! If we get down there, someone should be able to point us in the right direction back towards Magic Kingdom." Sebastian exclaimed.

"Do you think Ariel will be there?" I smiled brightly.

She was one of my favourite Disney Princesess growing up. I mean, come on! What 8 year old girl didn't dream of being a mermaid?!

"She moves between here and Prince Eric's castle every so often, so there's only one way to find out." Ben replied with a chuckle.

"Then what are doing floating around here for? Dive, dive, dive!" I exclaimed, fist pumping.

Right after that, there was a loud clap of thunder that startled the daylights out of me, making me bump into Sebastian who caught me with his hands.

"What was that?" I yelped.

The three of us turned around to see dark clouds forming over head. Pretty big ones too. Plus the faint flash of lightning could be seen not too far behind.

"Good thing we're heading down there. Looks like a storm is taking form." Ben spoke up.

We watched as the dark clouds merged together with each other, forming one giant storm cloud. The thunder grew louder and louder with each passing clap, the lightning boil inside of it as it cracked to life. Then suddenly, two golden eyes took form, glaring down at us.

"Um... When did thunderclouds start to form eyes during a storm?" Sebastian gulped.

Suddenly it clicked in my mind. I knew those eyes. I've seen them before, we all have! We saw them back during our fight with Jafar. He was meeting with the Dark Anomalies leader!

And now he was back again!

"I--I--It's him!" I stuttered, pointing a finger at the cloud. "The head honcho!"

"We got to get down to Atlantica, NOW!" Ben screamed.

"DIVE!" Sebastian yelped.

Ben grabbed my arm as the two of us dived back into the water, Sebastian quickly following behind us.

"DIE!" The powerful voice cried, his voice booming with the thunder.

The three of us pushed our arms against the water, swimming frantically towards the golden city. I noticed a flash of light off of the corner of my eye. I turned around for a split second, seeing the dash of a thunderbolt.

And it zapped itself right into Sebastian.

My eyes widened to the size of flying saucers. I wanted to scream, but I didn't want all of this water coming into my mouth. I tugged on Ben's arm, showing him Sebastian's image. I was going to reach out to my friend, but Ben grabbed my arm and pulled me back, shaking his head furiously.

He had a point. If I were to touch him, I might get shocked.

Ben raised his hand,  summoning a green force field around Sebastian. Then the two of us swam back over to him, taking the force field in our hands as we swam back and pushed it down towards the city.

The leader of the dark anomalies continued to fire back at us, the lightning bolts just barely missing us.

Ben suddenly grunted, floating in the water as he clutched his arm. The bolt of electricity slashed the side of his arm, trickles of blood spitting out of his arm.

I muffled out to him, reaching my hand out towards him.

As I did so, another lightning bolt was heading our way. Ben saw this, and in an instant he grabbed my arm, slamming me against the force field protecting Sebastian, and with all of his might, pushed us downward and away from him.

Just as he was struck by the lightning bolt.

"NO!" I screamed, as a gulp of salt water raced into my mouth.

I shut it completely after doing that. I noticed lights from behind me as I turned to see the city in a commotion, armed mermen heading their way over.

I had to help Ben somehow, but I couldn't just leave Sebastian floating here either. So with a heavy push, I moved my arms forward, pushing Sebastian away from me and through the magical barrier that protected the city.

Once Sebastian was safe, I began swimming up towards Ben. I focused on my magic, making my hands glow a bright pink as I reached out for the boy, grasping his hand.

I winched, preparing for the shock of a lifetime. Only, it didn't came. My healing magic must either be healing him, or protecting me. Perhaps both? Anyways, I pulled Ben towards me, and began making my way back down towards the city.

Since I was taking the blonde back down with me, I had some extra weight to deal with so I was swimming a lot slower than usual.

As I was swimming I noticed something shiny floating near by. It looked like some kind of mirror. I reached out with my free hand, grasping it. It was white with a pink floral pattern. That's when it clicked inside my head. This was the same mirror from Beauty & The Beast!

But what was it doing here down in the ocean? Did Sebastian drop it?

Before I could react, the mirror started glowing, green and pink smoke swirling around the glass. The blurred and fuzzy image of a teenage boy with dark hair. He looked so familiar to me, but I just couldn't quite put my finger on it.

"Could it be...?"

But before the image could go into focus, another flash of light from the giant thunder cloud the Dark Anomalies leader created caught my attention. I frantically looked around, looking for a place to put the mirror. Leaving no other choice, I stuck the handle in my mouth before continuing to swim.

I kicked my legs furiously, trying to gain some speed. I knew water had to be sneaking its way into Ben's body, so I didn't have much time left. I could sense another flash of light, and as the mermen guards came towards the end of the barrier, catching Sebastian's force field, one of them called out to me and pointed over head.

"DIE!" The evil voice boomed.

I turned out to see a lightning bolt heading straight for me. My eyes widened with fear as I let go of Ben, pushing out of the way, right before I got hit by the blast.

It felt like getting stung by a billion bees and wasps all together. I cried out in pain, dropping the mirror from my mouth as water began to pour in.

As I was getting zapped, two images popped into my brain. The first was the fuzzy I saw in the mirror of the black haired boy who looked so familiar to me. The second image, was the complete opposite. It was the image of a young boy with short brown hair and light yellow beading eyes. He just looked so angry and furious, that the image of him looked like he was coming right at me.

And then, everything went black.

"Ava? Avalyn are you okay?"

"Wake up Ava, don't quit on us now!"

I slowly opened my eyes, seeing the faces of 6 females. The one to the far left had brown hair with a orange crown, wore a orange sea-shell bra, and brown eyes. The one next to her had blonde hair with blue eyes, a pink bow in her hair and wore a purple bra. The next one had black hair in two side pony tails, wore a pink crown, and wore a magenta sea-shell bra. Then there was a light blonde with blue eyes who wore a pony tail with a red elastic and a red sea-shell bra. The one next to her had light brown hair with brown eyes, wore her head in a ponytail with pearls tied around it and wore a light blue sea-shell bra. Finally the last one to the far right of me had dark brown hair with orange pearls tied in it, brown eyes, and wore a yellow sea-shell bra.

Wait... I knew those girls from somewhere... But where?

That's when it suddenly clicked. Their hair was flowing. Their hair shouldn't be flowing, unless... unless...

I yelped, scaring the girls as I sat up in marble bed. I was surprisingly really comfortable. I breathed in heavily in and out, looking around in the room and at the girls.

"Are you alright?" The eldest of the group asked me.

"Um... I think so." I slowly raised a brow. "But... why is your hair flowing?"

"What do you mean?" The second eldest asked.

"Our hair is always like this when we're under the sea." The youngest answered.

Under the sea?!

I gasped suddenly, finally glancing my head down to see that the bottom half of their bodies were tails. Not just any tails. They were mermaid tails! They were mermaids!

That's how I knew them! They're Ariel's sisters!

"Are my friends okay? What happened to them?! I, think I also dropped something. You wouldn't have happened to see a mirror have you?... Wait!" I gulped nervously, looking up at the group of girls. "How am I breathing and talking in the water?"

"You... might want to look down." The middle child spoke up, pointing her finger downwards.

I slowly tilted my head down, staring at my legs and feet.

Only, my legs, my feet, my pants, and my shoes were gone! They weren't there anymore! Do you want to know why they weren't here anymore?

Because I had fins instead of legs! I had blue fins!

I was turned into a mermaid!

"What the?!" I screamed, swimming back right into the wall.

"Easy now, try to stay calm." Attina, the oldest of the sisters rushed over to me, taking my shoulders and gently set me back down.

"I-I-I-I-I don't understand. How did this? Why--?!"

"Our daddy used the power of his staff to change you and your friends into mermaids. It's only temporary. It was the only way he could save you all." Aquata explained.

"So, Ben and Sebastian are okay?" I asked for clarification.

She nodded in reply with a smile. Seeing that, it made me sigh with relief, releasing some stress from my shoulders. My friends were safe. That's all that mattered.

"Wait, what? I didn't know Sebastian was up there. How could he even swim that fast with those tiny legs of his?" Adella asked, seeming confused.

"She's not talking about OUR Sebastian Adella," Andrinna elaborated. "She's talking about the Wizard, Sebastian."

"Oh! You mean that cute British boy!" She smiled with glee.

I rolled my eyes playfully at the boy. It seemed that Sebastian was developing a little fanbase of his. But I guess who could blame him? Any guy with an accent is almost all the time fawned over.

"Hey Ava!"

Within a flash, Ben and Sebastian swam into the room. Sebastian had a white tail and Ben had a green tail, with their chests revealed. For a pair of teenage boys fighting the forces of evil, they were fairly built.

"Check it! Of all of the years I've been a Wizard, this is probably one of my top highlights." Sebastian grinned.

"How are you feeling? We heard you scream from down the hall." Ben spoke up.

I flushed a bit with embarrassment. Great... Of all of the things for the boys to hear from me, I didn't want to worry them thinking I was in trouble.

"I'm okay. This just," I raised my tail fin. "--Caught me by surprise and all."

"Ariel's not here by the way. I checked with our crab friend and she's back over in Fantasyland right now with Eric." Sebastian added.

"Aw man!" I whined.

"Sorry, I know you were looking forward to meeting her." He apologized.

"It's okay. On the plus side, I got to meet her amazing sisters." I smiled.

The 6 sisters blushed from the compliment, speaking all at once in response. Finally Attina coughed, composing herself before moving away from my side. "Well, now that the three of you seem to be well enough to move about, King Triton requests your presence in the throne room. He wishes to discuss the recent attack from the Dark Anomalies."

"Of course," Sebastian replied, he and Ben bowing in respect to the mermaid princess. "Ava, you coming along?"

"... Yeah. Yeah, I am." I nodded as I moved from the bed, floating over to the boys. "Guys, there's something I've got say. When I got hit by the bolt, I saw something, a face."

"A face?" Ben raised a brow.

"A face of a boy. A young boy. I... I think it may have something to do with the Dark Anomalies. His eyes... that thing's eyes... they were the same. All dark and evil, and menacing..." I grunted, swinging my hands down.

"Then let's tell King Triton so he can pass over the news to Mickey. Perhaps he might know something." Ben suggested.

"Right. Let's go." I nodded in agreement.

"We'll see you ladies, later." Sebastian grinned, snapping his fingers at the girls while making that clicking sound with his teeth.

The girls giggled and waved at him as the three of us swam out of the room, making our way through the halls. When we were far enough, Ben playfully nudged his friend in the stomach.

"You just can't help yourself, can you?" He teased.
