"Oh yeah, free candy at last!" Wilbur Robinson cried flopping onto Hiro Hamada's bed after a long day of school. Hiro rolled his eyes at his friend, "Dude, Halloween's not even until tomorrow." Halloween was that weekend and Wilbur would be sleeping over for two days. Yes, he wanted to hang out at Hiro's but he also said that his family wants to get rid of him for a bit. It sounded a little extreme to Hiro, but he doesn't stress on it. Wilbur frowned, "Don't remind me," he sighed, "I can taste the chocolate flavor right now. Ooh, I can't wait for Reese's and Snickers!" Hiro gave Wilbur a straight look and he immediately felt bad, "Oh sorry.." Hiro was mildly allergic to peanuts so he couldn't have a lot of things like Peanut Butter and Jelly, Kashus, Reese's and Snickers. Hiro was a little left out at first but he shook it off, "Hey, no worries. I can still have other things like Gummy Bears, Hershey's, Jelly Belly jelly beans, Lifesaver Gummies, Sour patch Kids, Skittles, and Mike and Ikes-"
"Okay, I get it. Anyways I'm pretty excited to show off my costume." Hiro shrugged, "We're Star Wars Storm Troopers." Wilbur pointed out lifting his finger, "Deluxe Star Wars Storm Troopers." Hiro said after that, "Whatever floats your boat." Soon Hiro's fourteen year old brother Tadashi came into the room, falling on his bed exhalling. Hiro and Wilbur exchanged a look. Tadashi was working harder at school lately, being in High School now, and had been tired out frequently. The concerned younger brother greeted his brother, "Hey Dashi." Dashi was Hiro's cute nickname for Tadashi when he was younger and wasn't able to really pronounce his name, Tadashi thought it was annoying at first but then he warmed up to it while warming up to Hiro. Tadashi replied lazily, "Hey Hiro. Hey Wilbur." Wilbur tried lifting his spirits, "You excited to go Trick-or-Treating tomorrow?" Tadashi sat up resting on his arm, "Don't you think I'm too old to be going Trick-or-Treating?" Wilbur gasped, "TOO OLD TO GO TRICK-OR-TREATING?! IS THAT A THING?!" Tadashi yawned showing his exhaustion, "A lot of people don't in High School. I'll probably just buy some for myself after I take you two out tomorrow night." Hiro declared, "Hey, you are not chaperoning us, you're gonna hang out and have fun on Halloween." Tadashi sighed, "Hiro-."
"Dashi, please go have fun and relax, for me." Hiro made his puppy face since it always worked on his older brother to get his way. Wilbur didn't even wanna try cause he knew he'd look like he was a dying animal. Tadashi looked away from the younger brother covering his face, "No, no Hiro, don't give me that look! Anything but that!" Hiro refused and pressed on seeing his brother give in. Tadashi groaned, "Ok fine! I'll go Trick-or-Treating and have fun." The two friends rejoiced in their success, jumping up and down. Tadashi's eyes were slowly closing. Hiro noticed and said, "Maybe you should rest for a little while, Dashi. You're dozing off." The older brother realized and tried to shake it off, "No, I'm fine. I just need some water." The sibling nodded and Wilbur grabbed his phone, "Hiro, I still need to get an accessory for my costume." Hiro moaned, "Seriously?" Before Wilbur could respond, his friend was already grabbing his jacket heading towards the door, "Come on, let's get moving. Hey Dashi, can I borrow some cash to get Gummy Bears?" No response. "Dashi?" He turned to see his brother who had fallen asleep, with his mouth hanging open, and the water he was going to drink was on the floor with the seal shut. The two couldn't help but giggle. Tadashi was so tired!
They quietly left the room to let the tired Freshman sleep and quickly headed downstairs and out the door. It was silent as they crossed the street. Hiro spoke up, "So, what accessory did you need to make your costume perfect?" Wilbur smirked, "A lightsaver." He raised an eyebrow, "A lightsaver?"
"Yeah you know, the light up swords."
"I think you mean lightsaber. Also that doesn't make sense."
"Why not?"
"Stormtroopers don't use lightsabers. Only Jedi's do."
"Then what do the Stormtroopers use?" Hiro gave him a look, "They wield blaster pistols and rifles, did you even watch the movies?" Wilbur scowled, "Sorry that I don't have a VHS Tape of Star Wars laying in my house! I mean come on, I'm from the future. I don't live in the pa-." BAM! Wilbur had ran into someone after turning the corner. He and the person fell to the ground with a thump. Wilbur sat up a little and rubbed the arm he fell on. "Ow," He and the other exclaimed in unison. Wilbur looked up to see the person he had ran into was a girl. She had long black hair covering her face, and wore a purple-ish gray long sleeve shirt and was rubbing her head. He automatically felt bad and rose from the ground, "Hey, sorry you ok?" The girl looked up quickly and back down, but long enough for Wilbur to see her face. He thought she was pretty cute even if she looked miserable at the moment. She murmured, "I'm fine." He looked down and saw she had dropped some books that she was probably carrying. To show he felt bad, he decided to help pick up the books for her. "Here, let me get these for you." He bent down and noticed that one of the books was titled "How To Tell A Secret" and there was a small brown journal that looked like some sort of diary. Wilbur was slightly confused why she had these things, but he didn't give it a lot of thought. Before he could even touch them, the girl had snatched the books quickly and wrapped them in her arms, "No, I got them." He shrugged, "Ok then. Sorry again." She didn't hear the last part because she had already walked away. Hiro, who had been watching the whole time replied, "Well, that was weird." Wilbur continued to stare off at her, "Yeah, weird." His friend saw him staring and asked questionably, "..Are we still going to get your lightsaber?" Wilbur turned back to him coming back to reality, "Huh? Oh, no, let's just get the blaster pistol."
"Ok." Hiro was confused. Wilbur was acting a bit strange to him. He pushed it to the back of his mind for later.
As the two headed back to Hiro's holding their identical pistols, Wilbur was thinking about that mysterious girl. She looked about his age... Was she in his grade and he never knew? He was deep in thought when all of a sudden he found himself staring at the floor in Hiro's room. Wow, he must have been concentrating so hard, he totally forgot what happened on the way back. Hiro was on his bed now, wishing he'd taken Tadashi's money for Gummy Bears, looking at Wilbur, "Dude, are you okay?" Wilbur turned to him, "Uh, yeah. I'm good," he walked towards his bookbag, grabbing his blow up mattress that opened itself up, "Why do you ask?" Hiro looked down at his hands then back at Wilbur who was pressing a button that filled his mattress up with air, "Well it's just you've been acting different ever since you ran into that girl." Wilbur suddenly felt nervous, although he really didn't know why. It's just when he thinks about her, if makes him feel strange, "I don't know, it's just something about her seems familiar. Does she go to our school?" Hiro shrugged, "Not sure. If she does, she definitely is very hidden amongst the other classmates," Hiro bent down and poked the air-filled mattress, "She didn't seem very talkative, it looked like she wanted to get rid of you." Wilbur didn't answer for a moment putting his remote away, "Maybe she's just shy."
"Andd maybe you like her." Wilbur looked up at Hiro, but he hadn't said anything. He turned and saw Tadashi on his own bed sitting up with a sly smile on his face. Hiro was a little surprised hearing this and smiled, "Wait, that's why you were acting different? You have a crush on that girl?" Wilbur didn't know how to respond. Without knowing, he was turning faint pink, "I..I don't know-." Tadashi cut him off standing up walking towards the window, "You don't have to be nervous liking a girl. Let it out and be free showing it.." he looks outside and makes a curious face, "Wow, that girl looks like she's on a hurry to get somewhere, and why does it look like she's afraid of people?" Hiro and Wilbur toss a glance at each other and move towards the window. Wilbur gasps seeing the familiar looking girl, "That's her!" He suddenly runs to the door and down the stairs. Hiro threw out his arm, "Wilbur!" And then runs after him. Tadashi scratches his head and calls out to them, "Okk, uh good luck." He mumbles to himself, "Maybe I should keep my big mouth shut."
Wilbur was on a mission. He ran through the cafe and out the door towards the mysterious girl. Hiro was a little behind and trying to catch up but was halted by Aunt Cass right at the door, "Hiro, where are you and Wilbur going so quickly?" He didn't want to tell his Aunt that his friend was chasing after a girl he fell in love with and met over a half hour ago. He nervously replied, "Oh, Wilbur..and I--need to take a waz. You know, duty calls!" He was about to go when Aunt Cass stopped him again, "But there's a bathroom right over there," she pointed over to it while Hiro was still watching Wilbur run across the street. He looked back at her, "Oh yeah, I should tell Wilbur..." He ran out the door making his escape. Hiro sprinted outside and looked around for the lover boy. Soon Hiro's eyes traced him and he ran after him calling his name. Why was he even doing this anyway? He just met her and he's following her?? Guess he shouldn't be too against it since he hadn't found someone yet. It wasn't as important as his homework and other more helpful things in life. Hiro had finally reached Wilbur in an alleyway and no one was around except a couple of crates. He was out of breath, "Wilbur..what..THE HECK." Wilbur put his finger over his mouth making a hushing noise. Hiro was about to speak again but Wilbur covered his mouth. Wilbur crouched behind a wall and poked his head out watching the girl holding onto her books tightly and breathing quickly. Wilbur just stared at her as Hiro looked behind him. She was very pretty and he couldn't control himself anymore. He started to stand when Hiro grabbed his arm. He turned to see him mouth, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING??" Wilbur ignored him and stood all the way, moving away from the box out in the open. He waved, "Hey." The girl looked up, startled that her hiding place was found, "You again? What are you doing here? How did you find me??" She seemed a little tense, confused and agitated. Wilbur rubbed his neck, "Uh, well I sort of followed you..." The girl made a weirded out look, "Why?" He stood there and stuttered, "I wanted to get to know you more." She continued to frown, "Well I'm just fine on my own. Thanks but no thanks." She started to walk away until she saw Hiro's hair, "Uhh, what is that?" Wilbur grabbed Hiro's arm and pulled him out in the open, "Oh, it's just my friend." Hiro felt really out of place and not wanting to be there, "I didn't wanna be apart of this." She continued to have a straight face, "Nice." Wilbur wanted to keep the conversation going. There was something about her he wanted to get to know, "Uh this is my friend Hiro and my names Wilbur." She raised an eyebrow, "Hiro? Wilbur? What kind of names are those?" Hiro defended, "Well I'm from San Fransokyo so it sounds a bit different and Wilbur's parents just hated him." Wilbur hit Hiro in the arm which made her crack a smirk. Wilbur grinned. Was he making progress? He decided to ask her a question, "What's your name?" She went back to a blank expression, "Violet." Violet? The name sounded familiar. She was at his school! Wilbur felt warm inside, "Wow, I like that. Very pretty for a pretty girl." Wait, did he say that out loud? Hiro was shocked. Violet's eyes were open wide, she looked down self consciously letting her hair cover her face, "Thanks.." It was a little quiet and Violet was staring at the floor, "I'm gonna go, I need to get home." She walked past the boys and Wilbur called out, "Hope I see you again." Violet called back, "Yeah ok." He watched her walk off feeling red and pale at the same time. Hiro patted his back, "Do you think it went well?" Wilbur just stared, "No idea, I just know I like her." Hiro rolled his eyes, "Oh boy."
Now the two friends walked back towards the cafe in silence. Wilbur wasn't sure what to say since his emotions were still jumbling out. Hiro still didn't get Wilbur's actions connected to Violet. He was being weird and flirting with her. Hiro finally said something, "Why did you do that?" Wilbur looked up, "Do what?" He answered, "Follow her. You were trying to hit on her even when she was pushing you away. Why did you run after her?" Wilbur was quiet in thought, "...Because I wanted to. She's beautiful and she needs to hear that." Hiro nods but doesn't respond.
That morning, Hiro woke up before his friend feeling refreshed. He looked down towards the floor where Wilbur laid on his mattress snoring with his back end sticking up in the air. Hiro thought how he slept was a bit humorous, but he decided to wake him. Hiro looked to see if Tadashi was still in bed and he found that he wasn't, so he went closer to Wilbur and shook his buddy. Wilbur shot up his eyes and gasped. He realized it was Hiro and pushed him off himself and making Hiro topple over. Wilbur groaned, "Did you have to do that?" Hiro smirked, "As your friend, it's sort of my obligation to wake you the correct time and to tell you when you're being stupid." Wilbur replied sarcastically, "Thanks pal. What would I do without you?" His friend shrugged, "Probably annoying everyone you run into." Hiro received a punch in the arm from the aggravated Wilbur. That just made him laugh. Wilbur retorted in a defensive manner, "Hey, in my dream Violet thought I was quite a catch." Hiro stopped his cackles and just stared at Wilbur. He slowly slid a tired out smile at him, "Dude are you seriously dreaming about a girl you just met?" The other looked down nervously, "Well I-."
"That's pretty weird dude. I mean, how lame can you be?" Wilbur paused and looked at his friend in confusion and annoyance, "What do you mean?" Hiro shrugged again easily, "I'm just saying, you must be really in love with her. I mean, what are you going to do? Ask her to marry you on one knee? Get a grip, bro." Why was Hiro saying this stuff? Wasn't he Wilbur's friend? Wilbur tightened, "Is this how you feel? That I'm lame and weird?"
"Just that you wanna dream about a fantasy girl that would never love you." Wilbur felt betrayed. Weren't friends supposed to encourage each other, not put them down? Wilbur uttered out, "You don't know anything." Hiro cocked crossing his arms, "Oh really, who's the genius in this room?"
"Not you. You have no brain to comprehend anything to do with love."
"I can comprehend that there's no way you can get that stubborn mistress to like you no matter what you do. Why don't you just stick with your best friend and forget about her." Wilbur was furious, "I'd rather crawl on my knees to her than to hang out with you! If I wasn't being held against my will by my mother, I wouldn't be going trick or treating with you tonight!" Hiro, caught off guard yelled back, "Fine! You and I don't have to be friends! You take your dream girl! See if I care!"
"Boys, is everything ok up there?" It was Aunt Cass. The two glanced at each other and Hiro responded with a, "Yep, we're just fine..." She hollered back from the bottom of the stairs, "Ok, well breakfast is ready downstairs! Come and get it!" Hiro responded, "Alright, Aunt Cass." He almost didn't finish his last line because Wilbur had bumped into him heading for the door. Yeh, Hiro felt slightly guilty for the way he acted, he still stood on what he said. He mumbled to himself and he followed Wilbur down the steps in silence.
As they went down, the aroma of pancakes and bacon filled their nostrils, although they continued to make a straight face. Tadashi was already seated and looking a bit annoyed, "Come on guys! I wanna eat my colossal flapjack!" He showed his plate to them but they could care less. Once they all sat down, Aunt Cass told them to dig in. There were only two people really eating. The "best friends" poked at their food and glared at each other. Wilbur had no appetite to eat like he usually did and he couldn't take the fact of Hiro back stabbing him. Why was Hiro so upset that he finally found a girl that he likes? Did he not understand that? Wilbur couldn't take it and stood up, "Could I be excused?" Everyone at the table looked at him and his plate. Aunt Cass said confused, "Wilbur, you didn't even take a bite of your meal. Do you not like it?" He shook his head, "It's not like that. I just...," he looked down, "I'm not very hungry." Aunt Cass nodded disappointed, "Ok, you can be excused then." Wilbur turned around before she even finished her sentence walking away faster than normal. Aunt Cass and Tadashi exchanged a concerned glance. Tadashi commented, "I wonder what's up with him. He didn't seem like himself."
"I know, it's very strange.." Hiro looked at his plate and started eating his food, avoiding eye contact. Aunt Cass frowned at Hiro and asked, "Did you do something, Hiro?" He looked up at her offended, "Why do you think I did something?" Tadashi budged in, "Because you two were the only ones up there-."
"I didn't do anything Tadashi! Will you butt out." His Aunt fused, "Hiro Hamada!" Hiro sat up straight. Aunt Cass asked again firmly, "If you did something, say it now or there will be consequences." Hiro rolled his eyes and gave in, "Ok, ok Wilbur has a crush on this random girl on the street and I just told him that he'd have no chance with her and he got upset." Aunt Cass and Tadashi didn't say anything. Finally the oldest one spoke, "You have no right to tell him that. If he likes someone, let him like her." Tadashi nodded, "Let him have the girl he wants and stop causing chaos over it." Hiro stood up, "Fine! He can just leave me behind and spend the rest of his life with that stupid girl!" He ran out the door while the other two tried to call him back. Hiro ran as fast as his shrimpy legs could take him. He breathed heavily not looking back. With a heart beating rapidly, Hiro tries not to slow down but suddenly a hand grabs his wrist. He jerks his hand but isn't able to get free. He looks and sees it's his older brother and gives up. He knew he couldn't win against Tadashi since he was more broader and athletic than him. Tadashi, without a trace of exhaustion, asks, "What do you mean 'leave you behind'?" Hiro didn't respond and caught his breath with Tadashi still holding onto him. He turned away from his gaze and muttered, "Just forget I said that. It doesn't matter." The older brother still pressed, "Yes it does or we wouldn't be here. Now tell me what is going on."
"Tadashi-."
"No, tell me what's bothering you." Hiro cried out, "I don't wanna have no one again!" Tadashi was shocked at his statement and let go of his wrist. Hiro's lips quivered, "Wilbur was my only friend at school. Everyone else just picked at me or ignored me. Then when I was friends with Wilbur, everything was fine. Now he's obsessed with getting to know this new girl...I don't want him to get rid of me and I'll be alone again." Hiro wiped his eyes and calmed himself blinking the tears away. The sibling sighed and rubbed Hiro's back comfortingly, "He won't get rid of you. Wilbur is just making new friends, maybe you could be friends with her too." The other shrugged, "I don't know, Violet doesn't seem to wanna be buddies with anyone." Tadashi suggested, "She probably doesn't have anyone to talk to and feels misplaced. You should give her a chance." Hiro nodded, "I guess you're right." He stopped and gasped, "What about Wilbur?? Oh man, he's going to be so upset with me! How will he still want to be my friend?" Hiro felt awful. Grief swept over him like snake prying the air from its prey. Tadashi assured him, "Wilbur will get over it. He needs time by himself right now but later when you guys go trick or treating, you'll be able to talk it out."
"Could you help me? I don't think I can do it by myself." Tadashi kept a straight face, "I think this is your battle, I shouldn't get involved with that. Besides, I'm going to be with my own friends." Hiro saddened, "Oh, then who is watching us?" Tadashi started walking back, "I am, but I'm going to let you two wander off by our area on your own. You know you guys can have some freedom." Hiro stays quiet in thought as he walks back with Tadashi.
It was the afternoon now and neither of the younger boys wanted to go trick or treating. They went down towards the cafe, holding their helmets tightly and stood there waiting for Tadashi to come down. Aunt Cass had set out candy for the trick or treaters when they showed up. Hiro and Wilbur had threatened they'd eat all the candy before the night started, but they didn't take one single bite. The two were still wounded or feeling guilty from earlier. Suddenly, a tall lanky young women leaped into the cafe. She was wearing what it looked like a nerd costume with her blond hair in cute pigtails and glasses taped in the center. When her wide eyes glazed on Hiro and Wilbur, she squealed and sprung to them. She inches her face towards them and says as if she's talking to infants, "Which one of you is brothers with TADASHI HAMADA?" Hesitantly, Hiro lifted his hand indicating himself and the girl squeals again and puts her hands on him and messing with his hair, "Oh my gosh, you must be Hiro! You are soooo cute! I'M SO GLAD TO FINALLY MEET YOU!" Then the stranger starts kissing Hiro's cheeks which makes him blush.
"Honey Lemon?" Honey Lemon? Who was that? They all look up to see Hiro's brother coming down the steps wearing a geeky costume that almost makes Hiro snort. The lanky girl exclaims, "Tadashi! You look great!" Tadashi smiles at her very fondly, "Thanks, Honey Lemon, you do too." Honey Lemon grinned back but took hold of the almost seventh grader, "But you don't look as handsome as this little guy." She squeezed him tightly causing Hiro to lose feeling in his arms. Tadashi frowned rolling his eyes defensively, "He's only in like 6th grade you know." Hiro was a little shocked. Tadashi sounded slightly jealous, but why... Hiro couldn't breathe anymore and pulled away from the grabby girl, pushing away his last thought. Wilbur was amused by Hiro getting babied, yet he was being gushed over and that made him left out causing him to close off from the group. Honey Lemon brushed her fingers through her hair and started babbling about how she had the idea to have a geek theme and the other two guys in their group of friends, Wasabi and Fred were coming and whatever. Hiro wasn't really listening and was surprised that Tadashi looked interested. Well, he was a caring person but he almost looks mesmerized.. Suddenly, the door opened with the chime of the bell consuming the room's attention to the front and two tall guys that looked very much opposite were dressed in the theme talking away. The skinny one who Hiro hasn't met before was giving a nonchalant wave holding a comic book in his hand, "Hey guys, looking snazzy," he looked down at the two stormtroopers, "Nice costumes little dudes. I'm Fred by the way, Tadashi has probably talked about me all the time." Hiro just shook his head and said quietly, "No, not really." Fred was silent for a moment, but quickly became his chillaxed mood again, "Oh, that's fine. I guess not a lot of people can see my greatness." Tadashi called to him walking closer to the group, "Don't worry, Fred. There is greatness in you..a creative greatness." Then a bigger man moved up looking more organized and neat and held out his hand to the little lads, "Hello, I am Wasabi. What are your names?" Hiro spoke up shaking his hand, "I'm Hiro." He looked down not daring to look at his "friend" as he introduced himself, "I'm Wilbur." Wasabi smiled, "Nice to meet you two. Hope you aren't scared of Halloween. There's some scary stuff out there for little kids these days." Fred snorts, "Ha, like you're the one to talk. You're scared of like everything." Wasabi rubbed the back of his neck, "I'm not scared of everything." Tadashi smirked, "Says the guy who's afraid of going over the speed limit by a mile." The tanner man crossed his arms and cocked his head, "Hey, that is being smart. Speeding is illegal and I want to have everything precise and not go to jail-." Suddenly Honey Lemon was behind him and tapped his shoulder causing him to squeal like a girl. That made the others laugh. Hiro and Wilbur looked at each other and seized their banter. They still weren't ready to face each other and looked down at their feet.
Finally it was time to start Trick-or-Treating. The freshman class was all set to go, while the lower class lagged behind. Wilbur was unable to speak, Hiro couldn't either. He knew he messed up, but what would he say? The quiet sunk in and Hiro couldn't take it, "I'm sorry." Wilbur's eyes widened, "What did you say?" Hiro sighed, "I'm sorry, ok? I shouldn't have said what I said earlier, it was wrong and a lie," he paused, stopping in his tracks on the sidewalk looking downward, "I really do think you could have a chance with Violet." Wilbur was shocked, "Then why did you say I didn't?"
"Because I was afraid. If you ran off with that girl, you'd leave me behind and I'd lose my only friend." It was silent as Wilbur stood there speechless. Wilbur shook his head, "Hiro, you seriously don't think I would walk out on you, do you?" Hiro only shrugged and Wilbur put his hand on his shoulder, "You're my best friend, we stick together. Nothing's gonna change if some girl shows up. Trust me, you'll see what I'm getting at with this girl stuff when you find the lucky lady." Hiro couldn't help but laugh. He smiled, "I guess I was overreacting, wasn't I?" Wilbur smirked, "Yes you were. Now, let's go get some free candy!"
"Yeah!" They went in for a high five when they heard a ruffle in the bushes beside them. The hairs on their neck rose up and they quickly spun to the sound. It was getting dark already and they could not see anything. Hiro grabbed Wilbur's forearm, telling him to creep away. Then the sound grew and came out a bunch of senior guys with monster costumes. The seniors are who you need to watch out for on Halloween. They choose their unexpecting victim and torture them to do what they want. Knowing this Hiro and Wilbur were frozen in place. Hiro stuttered in fear, "Ok, fellas, we-we don't want any t-trouble." One of them roughly said, "Well we do. Now get over here, shrimps!" Wilbur was on the verge to tears, Hiro was on the verge to waz himself. Then suddenly a young feminine voice yelled from beside them, "Hey, leave them alone." The two boys turned to see the one and only Mr. Incredible's daughter with her red slim suit, dark straight hair, and black mask hiding her identity. She was beautiful, slender, yet she never acknowledged it. The older men turned their attention to the small hero, "What is this kid doing here? You really think you can stop us?" She spoke, "I don't 'think' I can, I know." Out of nowhere, ms. Incredible disappeared into thin air. They all looked around and she wasn't in sight. They older ones laughed. The man snorted, "Well, well, guess the twerp ran off. All well-" He toppled over in a shrivel holding his ankle, "Who did that?" Soon all the others shrieked in pain getting hit with invisible punches and kicks. Some tried to run away but a force field bumped them backwards. "Everyone run!" All of them finally sprinted in the other direction away from the little boys. The two sighed in relief. Hiro yelled out to the empty street,
"Thank you ms. Incredible, wherever you are!"
"Right behind ya." They turned and Hiro fell over. Hiro nervously laughed, "Hehe, got a little nervous." She asked with her fists on her waist, "Are you two alright?" Wilbur smiled, "We're fine thanks to you. If you weren't there, I wouldn't know what to do." The superhero smiled back, "Well that's my job. Glad I could help." Wilbur's smile started to dim in focus, "You know, you look very familiar.." Her smile was then hidden with fear and she looked away. Wilbur rubbed his head, "Violet?" Hiro gasped, "No way! You're ms. Incredible?" Violet sighed, "Yeah, it's me," she took off her mask revealing her eyes then put it back on, "I've been keeping this secret for a while. Now my family is going to give our identities away because it isn't an issue anymore and I'm finding it hard to do." Wilbur nodded, "Well I guess it should feel good to let a side of you out." Violet shrugged, "I guess it does. I don't have much friends so it wasn't that difficult." Hiro looked down, "I didn't have all of friends either, it's hard." Wilbur bounced up, "But, we can be your friends." She put her hands out, "No, that's fine. I don't really need friends. I'm ok on my own." Wilbur paused and gave a smile, "Well whenever you need to talk, just know you can always come talk to us and we'll be there," Hiro beamed, "Definitely." Violet cracked a smile, "I'll think about it. Thanks guys." Wilbur blushed, "No problem."
The next day at lunch, Hiro and Wilbur were walking into lunch when they saw Violet Parr sitting by the wall, picking at her packed salad. "Hey." She looked up and locked eyes with the pointy haired boy from last night holding his hand out to her. She smiled at him and took his hand and he and Hiro walked over to the lunch table with Hiro giving Wilbur a thumbs up. What a happy Halloween.
