Mal
It was hot. It was always hot here on the island. I slowly got out of bed and rubbed my eyes. I looked out my open window across from my bed. The island was dotted with the homes of all the villains known in this world.
"Hey Mal!" I heard someone callout, I looked down to see Carlos the fourteen year old son of Cruella de Vil. Standing next to him was the seventeen year old son of Jafar and the seventeen year old daughter of the Evil Queen.
"Coming!" I shouted back down. I fully opened my window and put one foot out on the fire escape before pulling the rest of my body out onto the fire escape. Instead of using the ladder that lead from the second floor of my apartment complex to the ground, I grabbed onto a gutter that was next to the fire escape and slid down to greet my best friends. Evie, holding a handheld mirror lowered it down and looked me up and down,
"Mal, have you seen your hair? And did you sleep in your clothes?" Evie said touching my unnatural purple hair. I slapped her hand away before waving my hands around my head. Green magic came out of my fingertips and swirled around my hair. My bed head turned into soft waves that fell down my back.
"Better?" I asked Evie.
"What's on the schedule for today Mal?" Carlos asked me.
"I thought we should call a meeting with the other kids and."
"Mal! Evie! Jay! Carlos!" I heard a familiar voice yell out. I groaned and turned around to see Maleficent walking towards us.
"What do you want mom?"
"Being evil Mal?" My mother asked
"As always." I said using a half smile,
"What are you kids doing today?" She asked.
"You know the usual." I said
"Well cancel those plans children because we're off to Cruella's."
"Cruella's?" I questioned,
"Yeah, why my house?" Carlos chimed in, I shot him a look and he shrank back like a scared puppy.
"It's bigger Mr. de Vil." My mother said with a waive of her hand. I rolled my eyes; Cruella lived in a giant mansion on the center of the island. Evie lived in an old falling apart castle on the edge of the island while Jay and I lived towards the beach where the city portion on the island was located. Jay lived in a loft on the north side of the city while I lived on the west side in an apartment building. It may look small but underneath a secret network of tunnels and rooms ran through the island.
"Carlos open the gate." My mother demanded, the five of us were standing in front of a large black iron gate with a bronze C at the center. Carlos rolled his eyes and unlocked the gate. My mother dramatically flicked her black cape before walking through the gate and up to Cruella's front door. She used her magic to open the front doors. The doors slammed open making all the people in the living room jump with surprise. I looked around Cruella's living room. Black and white tiles decorated the floors, the bright fire engine colored walls stood out from the black curtains covering the windows. On the furniture and scattered in the floor was all the villains on the island or at least the ones who had children.
"Maleficent." Cruella greeted my mother.
"I see you found the rest of the children." The Evil Queen said from her spot on the sofa.
"Let's get this meeting started." My mother said raising the staff she always carried.
"Well aren't you four going to sit down?" Carlos, Jay, Evie and I scrambled to find seats in the already crowded living room.
"Why are we here?" Evie asked tossing her hair back.
"Good question Evie." The Evil Queen said,
"I'll take over Grimhilde." My mother cut in with a flick of her hand.
"All of you have been invited by the hero's council to attend Enchanted Academy the school located on the main land."
"What!" All the kids screamed we all started automatically complaining.
"I don't want to leave!" Galiana the daughter of Ursula complained from her spot on the couch.
"You're not going to make us go!" Phoenix said the daughter of Hades. Her orange and red hair moving like a wildfire.
"Would you all calm down!" My mother roared like a dragon, everyone settles down.
"I new you all would be apprehensive about this. But you have to go, it is a great opportunity."
"A great opportunity?" I questioned.
"A great opportunity to get off the island forever and take over the kingdom." My mother said grinning, the rest of the villains nodded smiling like my mother.
"How are we going to take over the kingdom?" Jay asked.
"Easy, as you know the heroes also have children of their own. They are the weakness to their kingdom, all we need to do is kidnap them and force their parents to exchange their children for their kingdoms."
"Is it really going to be that easy?" Phoenix asked.
"How are we even going to kidnap them?" Xavier asked.
"We'll figure that out when we get there." My mother said,
"Which kids anyways?" Carlos asked,
"Good question, we decided to start with the three kingdoms closest to the island. Agrabah, Corona and Atlantica. Then the soon to be king of the capitol Ben."
"Alright, but we can't just waltz in there and just kidnap each kid." Evie said,
"True, why don't you spy on them? Learn their secrets and weaknesses. Then report back to us." My mother replied, "Now all of you need to pack, you leave tomorrow." We all didn't move we were all to shocked to move.
"Don't you all take over the Kingdom?" My mother looked at all of our young faces. We were the new generation of villains.
Ben
I awoke to the sound of my door creaking open. I peered through my dark blue blanket. My face lay on my left side, the side facing the windows to my room. I briefly saw the sunlight streaming from under my dark blue curtains before being squashed into my mattress.
"Wake up Ben!" I heard a high-pitched voice say. My bed started to bounce and a small hand hit my face from above the covers.
"Isabelle." I groaned trying unsuccessfully to push her off me from under my thick blanket.
"Mom and Dad want you in the ballroom." She said climbing off my abnormally large bed.
"What for?" I asked sitting up. Facing me was my brown haired-blue eyed ten-year-old sister.
"I don't know they just told me to get you." Isabelle said skipping off her yellow dress flowing behind her.
"I pushed myself off my bed and walked over to the window. I pulled open one of my curtains letting a long stream of sunlight lighting up half of my room. I turned back around and found an ironed dark blue button down shirt hanging on a hook outside my closet with black pants lying on a chair along with a yellow tie and brown polished shoes. I put on my clothes and threw my blue pajamas on the chair before walking out into the long marble hallway. I shuffled my feet along the royal blue carpet; I passed by a mirror in the hallway and quickly looked at my reflection. I tried to flatten my dirty blonde hair that was sticking up all over the place. Once I got it decent looking I continued to search for my parents. I passed by my brother who had his face in a book.
"Marc." I called "Earth to Marc!" I shouted. My younger brother looked up from his book. Unlike Isabelle and I, Marc had brown eyes that were always covered by a thick pair of glasses. The only trait we shared was our hair color except Marc's hair was slightly darker than mine.
"What?" He said as he looked down to keep reading.
"Where are mom and dad?" I asked
"In the ballroom." His muffled voice replied. He ran into one of marble columns that connected to the railing that looked over the grand staircase. I proceeded to walk towards the ballroom. Sliding down the banister, I could almost hear my mom saying:
"Ben! What have your father and I told you? A king never slides down the stairs!"
I laughed as I imitated my mom's voice. Making my way to the ballroom I passed by the castle help.
"Lumierre! Don't do that!" Babette said swiping at her husband with her feather duster as he tried to jab her with a candlestick. I walked by the two of them and headed through the double doors to the ballroom. My eyes bulged. The normal gold ballroom with fancy chandeliers and dark blue curtains was a construction zone. My mom and dad were standing in the center of the room; they turned when they heard the doors open.
"Ben!" They both said at the same time. They hurried over to me wielding papers.
"So here are the designs for the ballroom for the ball after your coronation." My mom said showing a large drawing of the ballroom with yellow and blue banners with a silhouette of my face on them.
"And here is the menu for the dinner we thought we would serve our guests." My dad said, my mom continued talking about what we were going to wear while my dad followed up on what type of lighting we should have. I zoned out thinking about how much I really wanted to leave when I caught them starring at me.
"Sounds fancy." I said handing them back the papers.
"Don't you want to look at them?" My mom asked shoving the papers back in my face.
"Mom." I told her looking directly into her eyes. My coronation is in ten months we have more than enough time to plan.
"What about the guest list? That will take three months on it's own." She continued but my Dad stopped her.
"Belle he's right the coronation is so far away." My dad said putting his arm around my mom.
"What about your first proclamation! Have you even given it any though?"
"I did but I don't know what I want it to be!"
"Belle we should save this conversation for later." My dad said standing up for me.
"But..." My dad shushed her before leading her out of the ballroom.
"Ben, Cogsworth is all set up in the library for your last King preparation lesson. You can't skip that." My dad added looking over his shoulder. I nodded and left the ballroom. I hate King lessons, I already had to take them at Enchanted Academy the school for the heroes who saved their kingdoms from totally destruction.
"Ben, tick tock you're late." Entering the library I see a short plump man dressed in a brown suit. His mustache moved up and down like the hands of a clock when he twitched his nose. I groaned and threw myself down on a nearby desk chair. I nodded off listening to Cogsworth drone on about how to make proclamations and announce them properly. I came to when I heard my name being called along with the sound of slamming books.
"What?"
"What did I just say?" Cogsworth's mustache twitched. My guilty face was obvious. Cogsworth repeated his lecture.
"As the kingdoms fell into magical cooperative peace it was decided that the heroes would form a council, better know as the council of heroes. Together they would protect the magic realm and defend it from the dastardliest villains this world has to offer. These villains were banished to a magic protected island to stay for the end of time with their descendants." I stopped Cogsworth,
"What did you say?"
"We're you not listening again?" Cogsworth asked me angered and disappointed.
"No I was, but you said that the villains have descendants. So they have kids? How old are they?" I asked
"I don't know how old these so called descendants are but their birth records are written in a book in your father's study. But back to the lesson."
I groaned for a second time and fell back in my seat. I had to find this book. After the lesson I quickly ran to my father's study in the west wing, I rummaged through the bookshelf he kept behind the door. It was mostly filled with photo albums, atlases and history books.
"I found it!" I said to myself. I pulled out a large encyclopedia typed book that was covered with a thick coat of dust. Opening it, I leafed through the pages,
"Ben?" I jumped and looked up to see my mom and dad standing over me.
"What are you doing?" My dad asked.
"Researching." I said shutting the book and standing up.
"Is something wrong?" My mom asked
"No, but I know what I want to make my first proclamation to be." I said
Riley
It was a cool morning in the kingdom of Corona. I walked down to the stables where the horses resided. I pushed open the stable doors to see around a dozen horses prancing around their stalls. I greeted each one before turning to my favorite one.
"Morning Maximus." He greeted me with a friendly whinny as I opened his stall door.
"Hungry?" I pulled open the canvas bag I brought with me revealing a cluster of juicy red apples. Maximus whinnied again as I set the bag down for him. As Maximus busied himself with the apples I took a horse brush off from the hooks in his stall and brushed his bright white coat. Untangling the last knot out of his hair I gave Maximus one last pat on the nose before cleaning up the apple cores and saying good-bye. I exited the stable and slipped by the castle guards. I wasn't allowed outside this early. I closed the castle doors behind me.
"Where did you go?" A voice behind me said. I whipped around to see Anxelin. Arms crossed his green eyes glaring at me.
"Just out to the stables." I said brushing by Anxelin,
"Mom and dad were looking for you all morning." Anxelin said,
"It's only eight," I replied. How early did they wake up?
"Mom's an early riser." Anxelin shrugged his shoulders.
"Rilynn there you are." I turned to see my mom. The famous short brown hair and all. Her green eyes flashed with relief.
"Where have you been?" She asked.
"Just out visiting Maximus."
"Alright, just could you tell us first? You know how I don't like you sneaking out." She said giving me a quick hug. "Now go clean up for breakfast."
"Alright." I trudged up the stairs, making a left turn I walk down the hallway decorated with various golden suns. I opened the door to my room; the walls were painted a light shade of purple. While my curtains and bedspread were a dark purple color. I walked over to my bed where my clothes for the day were already laid out. A light purple dress and gold gladiator styled sandals, I pulled off my riding outfit, which included a pair of black boots, brown slacks and a white peasant styled shirt. Changing, I shook my hair out of its long brown braid. My mother never let me cut my hair short she made me keep it long. I never minded, I love my long hair and I enjoy braiding it and finding new hairstyles.
Quickly cleaning myself up I ran down to the first floor where my family is already sitting down for breakfast.
"Riley!" My dad called "You ready for your first day at Enchanted Academy?"
"Ready as I'll ever be." I replied, tomorrow I would be heading off to Enchanted Academy the high school for all the children of the heroes that ever existed. I sat down next to my brother, while my dad sat at the head of the table, my brother on his left side and my mother on his right.
"You're going to love it Riley." Anxelin said,
"Thanks but I'm not sure..."
"Excuse me your majesties." I turned towards the doors to the dining room where a guard was standing holding a letter with the royal seal of Belle and the Beast.
"Yes," My mother stood up as well as my father.
"A letter has arrived from Benjamin to the members of the council." The guard walked over and handed the letter to my dad. My dad opened the letter and glanced over it. His mouth dropped open.
"Eugene what is it?" My mom took the letter from my Dad and read it over, she gasped.
"Mom, what is it?" I asked
"You're going to have some new classmates."
