I was excited about this live action, and I been wanting to watch this for a movie night. Neither Rachel or Ashley picked it so one week I decided to pick it. I thought this was great and I love how they expended on the story. Peter Pan and Captain Hook used to be best friends, but Captain Hook left and grow up. He came back and they started a rivalry. Peter Pan is a legend, a story that Wendy and her brother's mom would tell them. Wendy was going to be sent to a Borden school and therefore doesn't want to grow up. Tinker Bell came played by Yara Shahidi, who I knew her growing up on Blackish and now on Grownish. Unlike my original thought for a black Ariel, I was actually excited for a black Tinker Bell. I don't know why. The only thing I can think of Tinkler Bell have always been blond and we have always had blond representation, so it didn't bother me with this casting, and I noticed no one was making a big deal about it either. She was a great Tinker Bell. Peter Pan came and brought them to Neverland. They met Tiger Lilly and I really liked how she was betrayed as well as her people. I am also glad they cut out that Indian scene they did in the original because that was stereotyping on a group of people. We also got to see more of Tiger Lilly. Wendy and Peter are more equal in this. With the lost boys I loved that it wasn't just boys. They were boys and girls that were lost and by the end of this the Darlings ended up taking them in. This movie was really good, and I thought they did better then the original. One of the best live actions.
