Genius is an anthology series, so every season is about different people. This season they focus on the parallel of these two men. Martin Luther King and Malcolm X. I just watched the first episode with my mom and the first two episodes are on Disney+ and Hulu right now but it's airing on ABC, so we are watching it when it's on. So far it's really good. They did a good job casting and it's nice to see the two men growing up and how they became the men they became. As an aspiring activist I have always looked up to Martin Luther King and just recently I began to understand Malcolm X. Last semester at Worcester State University I had the privilege to have meet one of Malcolm X's daughters. She's an author and I am currently reading "Becoming X" which is about Malcolm as well as "Betty before X" which is about her other Betty Shabazz. I hope someday I could make change like both of these men. You can't have one without the other. They are two sides of the same coin. One is about human rights, and the other was about Civil Rights. You need both.
