A Bugs life Disney 1998 (Substitute Teaching)

I probably have done a review for this before, but I wanted to talk about it since I watched it again in the class, I was in. I just got a job as a substitute teacher, and I been to other schools helping out before.  My first day was at my old middle school I went for 7th grade, Sulliven Middle School and throughout the day it got worst. The kids don't listen, but I am more into working with elementary schools anyways and that's what I been going the majority of the jobs I accept. I been to Jacob Hiatt Magnet, Roosevelt school twice, Lincoln Street School, West Tatnuck, and Friday Woodland Academy. I have been with Preschool, Kindergarten, 1st grade, and when I was at West Tatnuck Wednesday 4th grade.

At Jacob Hiatt I was originally supposed to be there for a half a day, but they put me in a different class because they didn't want to put me in the class I originally signed up for because I was new, and these kids will be more verbal. I was with the actual teacher, and they said I can observe, which was fine, I guess. I did have to email pay roll to get them to give me the rest of my pay when I was only paid for a half a day but I stayed for a whole day. Next time I am there for a half a day I'll make sure I will be there for a half a day. That was ridicules.

Then the next week I went to Roosevelt which I was excited for because my old teacher I really liked from Canterbury, teaches there now so I was excited to see her again. She is the one that inspired me on being a teacher. I really want to teach 5th and 6th grade life skills because that was what I was in when I had her. She was surprised to see me, and I had lunch with her in her classroom. Then I came back that Wednesday but for a half day because I had to take the bus. I couldn't of get stuck to stay for the whole day since I had to be there later. I was still put in a different classroom from what I originally signed up for as an extra adult in the room which again was fine. I did had a better experience with this school then Jacob Hiatt and would come back again. Then I had to wait a little longer on going to another school because I wanted to give me time to request it off at Market Basket. I went to Lincoln Street school, and they were even more unorganized but at least like Roosevelt they had me to sign in.  I was going to sub in a class that has a lot of behavior problems but for whatever reason they won't expecting me so they were having their building sub be in that classroom and they put me somewhere else. There was a kid in that classroom that needed me to hold his hands while we are going up and down stairs and we went to see the Easter bunny. After that I guess the teacher didn't need me anymore and had me to go to the principal's office and ask where she need me next. It didn't make any sense to me because I usually would stay in one classroom all day so I didn't understand the confusion. I hate confusion. She then put me in a different class that was next door to the classroom I was originally going to be in and I was there for the rest of the days. I think the reason why they never get subs is because Lincoln Street is a dangerous neighborhood, and no one wants to go to that school. I'm not afraid. I will go wherever I am needed and get some experience.

The next Wednesday I went to West Tatnuck and this was the first time in an elementary school I got to do actual subbing. I was there for a half a day and got there early so I did observe the first half an hour then I was able to take over when the teacher left. These were 4th graders. The teacher told me what I had to do before she left. Those kids were well behaved and helpful to me, and I would like to go back. I won't come back though unless either my parents could bring me or my boyfriend because I don't drive and there isn't really a bus stop nearby. But I hope I get to come back. Then that Friday (This past Friday) I went to Woodland Academy. That was part of the All school. Woodland Academy is the elementary school and Claremont is Middle School and High School. I was supposed to go there for my district school when I was starting school but because of my special needs I ended up going to Chandler Magnet because they knew how to work with kids me. I did go to Claremont Academy though for 8th grade and I had a bad experience there, but I know my life would have been different if I was there since Preschool and stayed there until I graduate from high school. Then I probably would have gone to Clark University instead for college because free tuition.  I'm glad things turn out the way it did, and it was nice going to Woodland Academy. They even had me to wear a name tag which I thought was cool. They told me they were all set with a sub in that classroom I originally accepted a job for which I don't understand. I was put in a class, and I was subbing for the IA in that class. At least I was still subbing and not observing. These experiences have been weird like what is going on, on their end? I was with kindergarten and at the end of the day we were watching "A Bugs life" in another classroom because they were learning about bugs this week. Unfortunately, because they kept talking the teacher shut the movie off and have the kids play instead. I was annoyed. It's nice being with little kids but I would like to teacher older kids that would have a better chance of watching a movie that is on.
