Tadashi's POV
The rest of the day was fairly decent. Honey Lemon and I were cracking jokes in LA. She looked like she was feeling better and that made me relieved, not just because of the prom. To tell you the truth, I didn't really care about the prom. I just wanted Honey to be ok and hang out with her. I also thought of Jack Frost. He seemed so upset and hurt when I bumped into him today. I wish I could've helped him or asked what was wrong, but there was really nothing I could do.
Hiro and I finally get home from school and opened the door. Aunt Cass was reading a book and eating a donut at a empty table. It was pretty slow at the cafe today. I go over to say hi to her and I turn to see that Hiro was heading upstairs. He was already gone before I could call for him. I was pretty confused why he went off but I shrugged. I go over to Aunt Cass with a smile on my face, "Hey Aunt Cass." I give her a quick hug. She finished chewing her pastry, "How are you Tadashi?" She pauses looking behind me, "Where's Hiro?" I look down uncomfortably, "He headed upstairs..," Aunt Cass looked a bit disappointed and I felt bad for her. Hiro wasn't intentionally not seeing her, but she didn't know that. I lean in and whisper to her, "I think Hiro is having girl problems." Aunt Cass looked shocked and confused. She knew Hiro had a tiny crush on Penny because she spotted him staring off at her one time Penny came into the cafe. Other than that, she didn't hear much of Hiro and girls. She blinked, "Oh, have you talked to him about it?" I sighed a little aggravated thinking about it, "I've tried but he is too confused himself to comprehend much." Aunt Cass nodded, "Ok. Would you like me to do anything?"
"I don't think there's much to do at the moment." She nods her head once again, "That's fine. I hope everything is ok." I smile, "See you in a bit, Aunt Cass."
I start to head to my room. The building was pretty quiet and not a sound was made except my feet climbing up the steps. I get to my bedroom and open the door. Hiro was laying on his bed with his eyes closed. I shut it softly and sat on my bed. I took my hat off and stared at it. I look up at Hiro hesitantly. Should I ask him what's up? I spoke, "What's going on, bro?" Hiro's eyes flicked open and he started to sit up, "Nothing, everything's fine." I wanted to press him but I didn't, "Ok.." I mess with my hair and put my hat back on and then Hiro suddenly speaks, "No, actually everything's not fine." I look to him with suspicion, "What's up?" He sighs now facing me, "Well, everyone has been bugging me about asking Penny out or going to prom with her. I want to, but I just don't have enough confidence to do that, you know?" I nod. I kind of felt bad for teasing him so much, but I say, "You need to at least try to, Hiro."
"I am..I'm going to hang out with her tomorrow afternoon." I smile, "Ah and you didn't tell your big bro about this?" I poke him with my foot and he soon shows the gap between his teeth, "I don't know. I guess I didn't really think about it then." Man, my little brother going to prom...it's pretty weird if you're thinking about it. Your 14 year old brother going to prom the same time as you. Normally someone would be ticked about this, I'm not. I'm pretty stoked.
For about an hour, Hiro and I played some video games. I was getting pretty into it until I remember something. I start to get up from the bed and pause the game. Hiro gave me a confused look as I grab my book bag and pull out my math notebooks and stuff on my bed. I turn to Hiro and ask, "What time is it?" He watches me as I get a few things out of the bag, "Almost 6 but what does that have to do with anything?" I look at him. How would he react? I speak, "Um, well me and Elsa are working on a project for Math." Hiro just looks at me, "Elsa?"
"Yeh, we were partners."
It was silent for a second till the doorbell rang. I turn to the door and slowly walk to it and open it. I look back at Hiro and then leave to go down the stairs. When I got down, Aunt Cass was already at the door chatting away with Elsa, "I am so happy to see you. It feels like ages since the coordination." Elsa nodded to her, "Yes, it's like a lifetime ago." I'm now next to Aunt Cass and smile, "Hey Elsa. Ready to start working?" She looked at me holding her book bag, "Definitely, I have my books all here." Suddenly Aunt Cass budges in with a grin, "Why don't you guys have a little snack while you work? I have a ton of pastries just waiting to be eaten!" It seemed like Cass was being a little desperate to have something to do, but I didn't mind. I mess with my hat, "Sure, Aunt Cass." Elsa chipped in, "I haven't ate dinner yet so that'd be nice. Thank you, Ms. Hamada."
"Oh, call me Cass." I could tell Aunt Cass was delighted to have Elsa here and being very polite. She grabbed my arm as I started to get my stuff from upstairs, "She's so sweet!" I smile with a nod, "Yeh."
She let go and headed to the counter and I went up to my room. When I open the door, Hiro was now at the computer doing something. I grabbed my Math books and went towards the door. Hiro's voice stopped me from turning the doorknob, "Don't disappoint Honey Lemon." Confused, I look over at him. He was facing me from the chair giving me a look. I ask, "What do you mean?" He stood up, "I just don't want you leaving her for-"
"Elsa?" Hiro nodded. I was still questioning why he thought I would leave Honey Lemon. Then I remembered I told him I liked Elsa a while back. I sighed, "I already told you that Elsa is just a friend. Besides, Honey Lemon is the world to me and I don't need my little brother telling me that." Hiro says lowly, "I'm-I'm sorry." I give him a half smile, "It's fine..I like that you are looking out for her." He smiles back and I head downstairs.
I get down to the cafe and see Elsa sitting there with all her work out eating a muffin. Aunt Cass was watching her from the counter waiting to pounce. I walk over to the women, "Could I have a crumb cake, please?" Aunt Cass shook out of her stare and turned to me. She grinned, "Why certainly dear." I grabbed my pastry and sit across from Elsa. She smiles as I place my books on the table, "Ready to get started?" I laugh and nod, "Ready to get this done." This made us both laugh. Then we opened our binders and I could tell that we would be just fine.
