Grab your magic lamp and get your three wishes ready, cause it's time to take a magic carpet ride through Agrabah and learn some facts about the live action remake of Aladdin!

Sir campaigned for the role of Jafar. He had previously turned down the role in 1992 and has regretted it ever since.

Frank Welker reprises his roles as Abu and the Cave of Wonders from the original film, making him the first cast member from a Disney animated feature to play the same character(s) in the live-action remake.

When Aladdin and Genie are first speaking in the desert, Carpet can be seen in the background making a sand castle in the form of the Disney logo castle.

The prince is dressed in colors of pink & lime green, the same colors in the title logo & a nod to Will Smith's comedy The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. So, the Genie created the Fresh Prince for Aladdin.

When the Genie shows Aladdin a floating scroll, the drawing contains Aladdin, the Genie and the Sultan in their animated forms from the original animated Aladdin from 1992.

Unlike the constantly shirtless Aladdin in the original film and the Broadway show, Mena Massoud's Aladdin in this version does not appear shirtless and is completely covered up for the entire film. Ever since the release of the first look and trailer, costumer designer Michael Wilkinson revealed that it was "the question on everyone's lips." He said the reasoning was that "We thought having so much skin showing on Aladdin for the whole film would be quite distracting on a human actor as opposed to a cartoon character." Producer Dan Lin added, "He found a shirt. The (animated) movie was done in 1992. Some things are inappropriate these days for families." The super-hit Broadway Aladdin show with live actors replicates the original movie's look and shows Aladdin bare-chested with actors who sport bulging abs and pecs and critics of this movie said that covering up Mena Massoud was a conservative move by Disney. Actor Mena Massoud meanwhile is a gym junkie and posted several shirtless pictures on social media during the filming and promotion of the film showing off his rippling physique even though it was not featured in the film.

Though a different incarnation of the character, this is the first time that Iago is voiced by someone other then Gilbert Gottfried, after having previously voiced the character's original animated counterpart in all appearances prior, such as films, TV, video games, etc.

The Genie begins and ends the film as telling the fairy tale to his children. In the animated Aladdin, a peddler provided a prologue to the film, though he didn't appear at the ending. However, an alternative ending featured the peddler revealing himself to be the Genie.

The Genie and his family live on a lamp-shaped boat. The boat represents Genie's own wish for freedom and to go anywhere he wishes, and its shape represents his previous residence.

At the beginning of the film, the wife tells her husband to tell the children a story with song. He refuses and in the same breath begins his story (with song). Like a good husband - and genie - he obeyed his wife's "wishes."

In the original animated film when Jafar became a powerful sorcerer from his 2nd wish given to him after stealing the lamp, one of his powers included shape shifting, which he was able to do by becoming a massive Cobra that's about half the size of Agrabah Palace when facing off Aladdin. He does not have that power in the live action reboot, instead using his powers to change Iago into a massive bird that's about the size of a hut to face off against Aladdin, which would eventually wear off by the time Jafar made his last wish to become a Powerful Genie and get sealed into a lamp of his own.

Initial credits have the cast performing a dance to snippet of "Friend like Me." This is also a callback to the Broadway/live action performance of Aladdin. In which, at the end of the show, the cast come out and then perform an encore of "Friend like Me." Shortly after Robin Williams passed away, the current cast dedicated the encore to Williams/asked the audience to participate.
