Losing? Not an option, cause we'e rotten... to the core! ;)

This page will feature some facts about Descendants 2, but sadly not enough to make it it's own page. I missed the premiere since I was down in Disney World at the time, but I heard it blew the first one out of the water.

Fact #541
Descendants is the eighth Disney Channel original movie to become a franchise. Previous franchises include Halloweentown in 1998, Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century in 1999, The Cheetah Girls in 2003, Twitches in 2005, High School Musical in 2006, Camp Rock in 2008, and Teen Beach Movie 2013.

Fact #547
At the end of the credits of Descendants 2, Uma came out from the water and turned around to face the camera saying, "You didn't think this was the end of the story, did you?" In a call back to when Mal said at the end of the first movie, and a hint at a potential "Descendants 3" triquel.

Fact #548
Rumour was that among the deleted scenes, there was a kiss between Harry Hook and Gil. Unfortunately, the scene was cut from the final version. Thomas Doherty posted a picture of the scene on his Instagram account. The creators of the film came out to say that while a kiss between the two is mentioned in the book version of Descendants 2, the kiss was never written or scripted for the film. It was actually Harry and Gil's actors improvising in the background of the scene. Had it been real, it  would have been Disney Channel's first LGBT kiss.

Fact #549
Descendants 2 reached a viewership of 13 million views, making it the second highest DCOM to bring in a large amount of ratings behind High School Musical 2, both directed by Kenny Ortega.

Fact #550
Disney has recently announced that they are shutting down their Disney Vacation Savings Account program. It was a program that allowed you to create a savings account to progressively add money towards your Disney vacation if you weren't able to pay for it all at once. They claimed that the program was one of their more underrated ones and it was so under the radar, only a fair few of people knew about it and used it.

Fact #555
If you keep your eyes peeled in The Thirteenth Year, you can spot a young Kristen Stewart popping up.

In 2016, the Disney Company brought in more than $92 billion in total revenue. The parks and resorts division was responsible for roughly $17 billion of that total.

Fact #563
A new Disney World gondola system was in the works, and even more details about the project were released at this year's D23 Expo. Bob Chapek, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, said the system would be called Disney Skyliner. It will aim to "give guests a never-before-seen bird's-eye view of Walt Disney World and connect the new Disney Vacation Club property, Disney's Art of Animation, Pop Century and Caribbean Beach Resorts with Disney's Hollywood Studios and the International Gateway at Epcot." Documents from The Reedy Creek Improvement District also indicate the new gondola lifts will include six stations with three different lines linking the locations. The gondolas will also feature popular characters.

Fact #564
Each line of Beauty and the Beast's title song has only five syllables.

Fact #565
In the original cut of Beauty and the Beast, Gaston's last scene went very differently. In fact, he was much more violent than self-absorbed/destructive as he's shown to be in the final version. Instead of slipping and falling off of the roof of the castle as he does in the final version, Gaston was originally supposed to stab the Beast in the back and then willingly jump off the roof to his death, laughing the whole way down. The thought process was that if he couldn't have Belle, then the Beast couldn't either.

Fact #566
Basil Rathbone, the voice of the human Sherlock Holmes in the movie, was actually not alive for the production of The Great Mouse Detective even though his voice was in the movie. Rathbone had played Sherlock Holmes throughout his life and so creators took his voice from audiobooks he had completed before his death, as well as clips from his Holmes films and used those for his role in the film. By the time the film was finished, Rathbone had been deceased for about 20 years.

Fact #568
The creators of The Rescuers had seriously considered making Cruella De Vil the movie's villain. She would've been dressed in alligator skins and all about making deals on the bayou. But, the idea was eventually scrapped due to the studio's policy against sequels. So, Medusa was created instead. If you go back and watch the film, you'll notice that she has quite a bit in common with Cruella, including a predisposition to obsession and reckless driving skills.

Fact #569
The final design of Ralph looks so different from the design from the the early stages of Wreck-It Ralph. Ralph was originally supposed to be a large white gorilla. He didn't show any sort of human features for a while. After that concept was scraped, he was supposed to look like an 8-bit character throughout the entire movie. However, that made him look less lovable, so designers went for a curvier, more modern design instead.

Fact #570
Bambi was originally intended to be the second Disney animated feature film, but ended up being the fifth. Walt had not anticipated how much work it would take to capture a realistic approach to the forest and its inhabitants or how much work it would take to find a good solid story.
