Facts 1681-1710: Boy/Girl Meets World Themed Page

I've been waiting for a day like this to come, struck like lightning my hearts beating like a drum!

That's right, it's time for Boy Meets World & Girl Meets World to take the stage! I know that many episodes of the show haven't been released yet for the spinoff, but I figured I'd give this show a try. This fact page was suggested by @LaurenMaree14.

Enjoy!

Fact #1681

In addition to Girl Meets World, you may have seen Blanchard in films like Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D, The Back-up Plan, and Little in Common.

Fact #1682

Carpenter has quite a few roles under her belt, with appearances on Orange Is the New Black, Austin & Ally, and Sofia The First.

Fact #1683

Rowan’s parents (Elizabeth and Mark Blanchard-Boulbol) are yoga instructors, and her dad is also her acting coach.

Fact #1684

The series finale of BMW aired on May 5, 2000 — which just so happened to be Danielle’s 19th birthday.

Fact #1685

There was also news that many of the older characters, such as Ryder Strong (who played Shawn Hunter), Betsey Randle and William Russ (Amy and Alan Matthews, Corey's parents), William Daniels (Mr. Feeny) and Lee Norris (Minkus) will all appear in various episodes of the series.

Fact #1686

Rowan is 12 and Sabrina is 15.

Fact #1687

Sabrina first got into acting after watching the first episode of Hannah Montana.

Fact #1688

Rowan has been into fashion since she was 4.

Fact #1689

Girl Meets World has ordered a second season.

Fact #1690

In Boy Meets World, in the “Cory’s Alternative Friends” episode, Shawn telephones his sister Stacy. In later episodes, Shawn doesn’t have a sister. Why? It has to do with the aforementioned plan for Corey to have two best friends. While filming the episode, the actor who was going to play one of those friends was fired. Rider Strong, who played Shawn, was given all of his lines at the last minute. In the original script, Stacy wasn’t Shawn’s sister. So, she never shows up in the show again.

Fact #1691

Mr. Turner played a vital role in the high school years of the show. Shawn even lives with him for a time. But in the fourth season episode “Cult Fiction,” Mr. Turner gets into a life-threatening motorcycle accident. He never appears on the show again and is rarely mentioned. In the next season, during the graduation episode, Minkus (who has also been MIA since season one) mentions Mr. Turner, saying that they had just been on “the other side of the school.”

Fact #1692

Boy Meets World creator Michael Jacobs has said that we’ll finally find out what happened to Mr. Turner on Girl Meets World.

Fact #1693

The writers changed Lee Norris' character's name to “Stuart Minkus” after it was discovered that there was an actual Stuart Lempke (the character's original surname) living in Philadelphia, which is where the show takes place.

Fact #1694

In the first two seasons, Lily Nicksay plays the youngest member of the Matthews family, Morgan. Then, a few episodes into season three, Lindsay Ridgeway takes over the role of Morgan. It was never explained why Nicksay was replaced. In the third season, Corey says, “Morgan, long time no see.” She responds, “Yeah, that was the longest time out I’ve ever had!” Nicksay has made a few reunion appearances with the cast and has said she’d be interested in appearing on Girl Meets World.

Fact #1695

Wil Friedle from Boy Meets World is also a voice actor. He provided the voice of Ron Stopable in Kim Possible and Bumblebee in the series finale of Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters and Predacons Rising.

Fact #1696

Mr. Feeny both opens and closes out the original series. In the pilot episode, Boy Meets World opens with a conversation between Cory and Mr. Feeny and in the finale, Feeny bids Cory and his friends adieu with a “class dismissed.” As William Daniels is still with us at the ripe old age of 85, he’s still around to bring class back in session.

Fact #1697

Strong told the audience at ATX that in the beginning of the series Cory and Shawn always had one other person sitting with them at lunch in the cafeteria -- but that kid “wouldn’t be back next week.” The cast ended up nicknaming it “the death chair” since no one ever made it past one lunch with Cory and Shawn.

Fact #1698

Maitland Ward may have landed the role of Rachel, but she told the fans that she never even auditioned for “Boy Meets World.” Instead, Ward explained that she was trying to get on a series called “Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane.” With Jacobs as the executive producer behind the WB teen sitcom, it went on to star Selma Blair, David Moscow, Michael Rosenbaum and Azura Skye. Jacobs decided he wanted Ward on “Boy Meets World,” and it worked out great because “Zoe” was canceled after two seasons.

Fact #1699

During the screening of the series finale of “Boy Meets World,” the audience was tearing up while watching Cory, Shawn, Topanga and Eric say goodbye to Mr. Feeny. The only thing that disrupted the tears was some heckling in the back of the room. Turns out it wasn’t a rude fan, it was just Strong, who hadn’t watched that scene since it was filmed and was laughing at the way he was crying.

Fact #1700

Strong dished that he loved the leather jacket he wore on the show so much that he didn’t want to return it to Disney when the series was over. Instead of giving it back, he switched it out with another jacket and Disney had no idea. Until now. Unfortunately, the joke was on Strong because the jacket was stolen shortly after he moved to Brooklyn, N.Y.

Fact #1701

The series-finale scene in Mr. Feeny’s classroom was filmed once, which was great until they noticed one thing -- Topanga had a tattoo of some Chinese letters on her neck.

Fact #1702

Occurring around the fifth season of the show, Strong wanted out simply because he wanted to go to college. Jacobs told him that they could work out a schedule so that he can go to college, and he did.

Fact #1703

Harry Barandes was originally cast as Eric Matthews, but after the pilot was shot, his scenes were replaced by Will Friedle, who played the character for the duration of the series. A VHS tape of the original version exists.

Fact #1704

Will Friedle is set to return as Bumblebee in the new Transformers cartoon set to be released some time next year, called Transformers: Robots in Disguse.

Fact #1705

Mr. Feeny and Dean Bolander get married on the show; William Daniels (Feeny) and Bonnie Bartlett (Bolander) are married in real life as well.

Fact #1706

After the first two seasons of the show, Nicksay was replaced by an older actress. But she's been a busy girl since leaving the show. Lily told us she went to high school in the Scottish highlands, sailed around Europe, lived with the Karen tribe in Thailand for a month and studied Ancient Greek and Latin at St. Andrew's.

Fact #1707

Not everybody loved Shawn & Angela's bi-racial love connection.

Fact #1708

The cast had a family of "stalkers". They would attend every taping and would give the cast home made cookies.

Fact #1709

Rachel gets water poured on her and her pants are soaking wet. When she goes into the Student Union, her hair is still wet but her clothes are completely dry.

Fact #1710

At the beginning of the episode, "What A Drag!", Eric and Jack call the cops on Luther for planning an illegal rave at the college, but the cops let him go because he had not started the rave. He still broke into the student union building, and therefore should have still been arrested.

*******

I hope you all enjoyed these facts as much as I did!

"I've got a ticket to the top of the sky

I'm comin' up, I'm on the ride of my life

I'm singing oh oh oh

oh oh oh oh

Take on the world!"
