(A/N:I was in a production of A Christmas Story, and I was waiting for almost five months to get a DVD copy of that production. I loved watching it, besides the fact of how fat I was and the other actors legs were having problems. While watching this I thought of this one-shot. And, yes, I do know that Natasha can't have kids, but it's fine.)

Natasha was walking through the halls of the new Avengers facility, holding her daughter's hand, and carrying a DVD in her other hand. It was currently evening time and the some of the Avengers, including Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, Thor, James Rhodes, Sam Wilson, Vision, and Wanda Maximoff were in the living room that the complex had, waiting for Natasha and her twelve year old daughter Y/N.

Nat and N/N came in just a few minutes after the movie night was announced. Tony was really happy to see his favorite niece walk through the door. She was happy to see her favorite aunt, Wanda. She ran over to Wanda and they both hugged each other. Y/N couldn't care less for Stark. Natasha was putting the disk in the DVD player that the room had while saying. "Hey guys, the disk is in!"

The disk that she put in was a copy of a "Christmas Story" play that her daughter participated in. Her daughter was mostly an ensemble and she would move some props in place, mostly a coffee table, books, and a telephone, but her BIG role was the role of a kid called 'Goggles Kid'. That part was originally made for a boy to play, but since she was able to take stage direction, the casters gave her that role.

Everyone made a comfortable space for themselves in the living room. Steve, Tony, Sam, and Rhodey sat on the couch. Thor and Vision sat on chairs on either sides. Natasha was sitting on the love seat with Wanda. Wanda had Y/N on her lap.

Finally, the movie had started. Steve, Sam, and Rhodey were just plain happy to see Y/N's play. Tony, Thor, Wanda, and Natasha were beyond excited to see her on screen. Vision, on the other hand, knew  that Y/N had gone through some horrors when this play was being rehearsed, and because of that Vision was concerned about Y/N.

~On screen, the actors started to walk around the stage representing 1980's New  York. The Avengers see Y/N dressed up in a black fabric coat, a thick brown and white scarf, and a black hat. She was looking down,~ but the others didn't notice her expression besides Vision, but he didn't say anything.

~Y/N walked back out from backstage after a brief costume change. She was wearing a blue coat and a very thin blue and white scarf. She and other kids came out in their 1940's attire. They were singing, but no sound came out of her. Everyone, besides 'Ralphie' and 'Jean', left the stage, Y/N being the last.~

~After a few scenes, Y/N walked out of backstage with other kids in wild west outfits. Her outfit:

~As the 'robbers' were pulling out their 'guns', Y/N ran in front of the screaming kids. One of the 'robbers' pulled his 'gun' on her and she coward back in fear. After 'Ralphie' defeated the 'robbers', Y/N and the rest of the kids marched of stage. Her depressed look came back once again.~

After that scene, Y/N walked out of the living room and into the kitchen. She didn't noticed, but Vision followed her. 

She opened the door of the fridge and spotted the 2% milk in the door. She took it out and shut the door. She turned around and slightly jumped at the sight of Vision right in front of her. She said "What the heck, Vision!? You don't startle someone like this." He responds by saying, "I am really sorry Y/N. I just need to talk to you." She sits on the chair next to her and says "Ok. Whataya need?"

He sits down next to her and says, "In the film, during the 1980's scene and when you were walking off the stage, you were...sad, to say the least. Also, I have tried to filter out everyone else just to hear you, but...I couldn't hear you, not even when you're supposed to be screaming. What happened?"

Y/N started to have a silent break down. She was kneeling down on the floor at this point. Vision had sat down next to her and held her closely. Through her tears she said,"I lost my voice then. The best thing to do was not to use it until my line came up."

Y/N stayed on the floor for a while still being in Visions arms. She had spent the whole time silently crying into his chest. She suddenly hear the song "Just Like That" in the living room.

She remembered about the movie. She got herself out of Vision's arms and got herself a cup of milk.

After the song was over Tony, Thor, Wanda, and Natasha started to hoot and cheer. They knew what was about to happen.

~After 'Mary Beth' and 'Nancy' got to sit on 'Santa's' lap it was Y/N's turn. She was wearing a dark blue dress, her blue coat, white and blue scarf, and a pair of white goggles.~ Tony Stark was happy to see her like that.

~"I like Santa!" Y/N said, with a slight shift of sickness in her voice, while still keeping her 'cheery' expression. She was being lead by one of the 'elves' to sit on 'Santa's' lap. Her expression quickly changed. She was horrified. She looked to 'Santa' then to the 'Chief Elf'. She looked to the audience and screamed "I...like...SANTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

'Santa' had a 'disgusted' look on his face and said "We got a wet one! Someone get her off of me and get me a towel!" Y/N got herself off and ran towards her exit saying "SANTA! SANTA!"~

Everyone was laughing so hard, Thor being the loudest.

~A couple of scenes later, Y/N and the rest of the kids came out in their pajamas for "Somewhere Hovering Over Indiana". Her pajamas:~

~Some kids were holding things like stuffed toys and blankets. Y/N was holding the pink blanket that her mom have given her.~

Natasha looked to her daughter who was sitting on Vision's lap. He was sitting in front of the couch. Nat turned her attention back to the TV.

~All the kids were walking off the stage and suddenly "BOYS!" 'The Old Man', 'Ralphie' and 'Randy's' father hollered. Y/N ran off the stage and headed backstage. That was the last people would see of her until the curtain call.~

~"Back in those days," Jean said "you never asked yourself 'do my parents love me?' It never crossed your mind. You were there. They took care of you. Their job was to raise you. Your job was to let them. When they said 'Don't run with scissors', or 'Button your coat',or 'You'll shoot your eye out', maybe even they didn't know it, but that's what it was. Love."~

Wanda looks to Y/N and sees her asleep in Vision's lap."Christmas is here, this calm, quiet night. It comes once a year, so you hold on to it tight," she sang silently with 'The Old Man' and 'Mother'.

~"Good night, Ralphie." Jean said. "Good night, all. Thanks for listening. Merry Christmas." All of the light turned off. 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas' started playing. They turned back on and everyone piled out for the curtain call. The ensemble bowed first, then the adult extras, then 'Flick' and 'Randy', then 'Mrs. Shields', 'Mother', and 'The Old Man', then the audience turned their heads to the elevated stage to see 'Santa' and the 'Chief Elf', then 'Jean' and 'Ralphie' came out.~

The movie had finally ended and everyone looked to Vision, who still had a sleeping Y/N in his arms. He floated up from the ground, still carrying her. He handed N/N back to Natasha, who carried her to her bedroom to sleep.

Everyone silently followed her. As Nat layed N/N down in the bed and pulled the covers over her, the others started to silently singing "Years may pass, but still we will remember what or where we'll be. Being here together this December underneath our tree. Seeing every girl and boy with our hearts so full of joy. We'll throw some day from far away. We'll say: What a Christmas story to behold, a crazy Christmas story to be told."

'Goodnight everyone' Y/N thought, knowing either Wanda or Vision might hear her thoughts.

Vision turned to everyone else and said "N/N says goodnight."
