What if, Wattpad?

What if?

You all came to work one morning

got the coffee ready

said hello to everyone

turned on all the computers

another day of work and fun

You all poured up your coffees

as the computers came alive

chatted about your weekend

all the new things you tried

What if?

Suddenly there was a silence

everyone was gone

not a single writer remained

everything was deleted

a vast desert plain

Wattpad becomes a wasteland

no one cares anymore

everyone packed up and left

locked and bolted the doors

What if?

We all went somewhere else

where writing was a joy

where our voices were heard again

where community existed

we're reunited with old friends

we leave this place behind

an abandoned city of gold

now tarnished and forgotten

now empty and cold

What if, Wattpad?

Seems like our friends at Wattpad are trying once again to cull the herd. 

It is time we reminded them, once again, that without the writers and readers, they are just another site on the internet. 

And all it would take is for someone else to build a new and improved website for writers that actually cared about the writers, as a whole and not about that handful of 

Hot List 

and 

Featured Writers, 

that they feel are worthy. 

They make up but a 

small fucking percentage of the population here. 

The "Elite" are the minority. 

Are you forgetting that?
