watching clouds

i have heard the same comment so many times from young writers on here

i don't know what to write

and then they label it as writers block

great book

400 blank pages

there is no magic potion for writing

and i find that people get so frustrated sometimes

that they simply don't write at all

or they fall back on something safe and boring

i

on the other hand

have a more pressing problem

most of the time

i get so many ideas that i honestly don't know where to start

so

i don't write nothing at all

or

i start a whole pile of shit and end up with a bookshelf full of

first chapters

so which is the better

i personally think a shelf full of ideas is the better direction

and i will tell you why

i believe that one idea

often inspires other ideas

and those ideas

will do the same

and yes

that will leave your idea tray filled

butttttttttttttttt

it at least gives you something to fall back on

at times when you are simply drawing a blank

and i know what you are thinking

i haven't created anything

but you have

you have a huge stack of ideas

each of which can blossom into a poem

a story

or a novel

or you can take the safe route

and have your story just another one of millions

with the same exhausted plots

"i just want to sleep"

and don't overthink the story

just let it flow from you

let your imagination dictate what you write

the biggest thing is that you are actually writing

and creating something new

and something original

and something that is you

and often it may not seem like it is going in any direction at all

like this article

I SAID "ANY DIRECTION"

that's better

but at least you are writing

i often look at the way i write as watching clouds

it may look like just a collection of random sizes and shapes

but if you watch closely

you will see

they are all going in the same direction
