what is a vote, on wattpad?

(a vote is like a cheerleader (Violet Eden)

is it truly our way of showing one last bit of admiration for the poem or story we just read, or is it an obligatory procedure we go through ...

just because.

I was told once, a few years back, that votes are really not that important and it is the overall activity on that particular collection or story, that actually dictates where you will stand in wattpad's rankings.

if that is the case, then why bother to vote at all?

I remember back a few years ago, I got a message from a writer here on wattpad, complaining that i had not voted on all the poems that i had read, in his collection.

he took it as an insult, that i choose certain poems, and did not vote on all of them.

he then informed me that he was going through the poems he had read of mine and reverse the votes.

seriously ?????????????

i don't believe he ever read anything of mine again.

so

when should we vote.

lets take a vote on it.

in case you are slightly blind (like me)

here are the choices

1 ... vote honestly because I liked the poem/story  (8)

2 ... obligatory vote because they voted for me

3 ... vote because they are my friend   (1)

4 ... vote because they asked me to (contest)

5 ... it's what I do  (4)

so
