dedications are a way for you, as a writer, to show appreciation to someone, who may have inspired you, in some way

i got one once

in the Jurassic era

it was delivered by a messenger Archaeopteryx

those things scare me (and they expect a tip)

anyway

where was i

oh yea

Mystres Myna and I along with our team, post literally thousands of poems, etc, in the run of a year

and

the dedication is an important tool for us

 it alerts the writer that someone has made a comment on their piece

thus keeping them involved in the ongoing interaction concerning their piece

that is all fantastic

what isn't fantastic

is the stupid way wattpad has set up the dedications

you have to first post the poem, etc

and then go back to the draft section to post the dedication

after already posting the poem, etc

and then post the poem, etc, again

and do you know how hard it is to post an 'etc'

i know

bad joke

anyway

i know some of you out there might say

Big deal

just one more step

and you are right

if you are only posting 2 or 3 pieces (especially 'etc')

it is not that big a deal

now what if you had to post 

dozens a day

that extra step adds up in the run of a day

and post thousands a year

even if it takes just 15 seconds

(no biggie, right)

now multiply that by just 1,000 posts

(we do a lot more)

15,000 seconds = 4.167 hours

in a world where time is so precious

i have just wasted 4 hours in redundancy

still doesn't sound like a big deal

well at 60 years old

my time is precious

and seriously

how many of you enjoy repeating steps

just to get the same outcome

its like punching in your 'pin #' on an ATM machine

and confirming your amount and then having to go back to the beginning again

and repeat

now it gets irritating

bottom line

with all the technology

and IT geeks

and advancements

and new breeds of 'etc'

you would think they could simply allow us to do all the tasks

at the same time

its just a little thing

but a lot of little things

add up

to a big thing

and wattpad has a lot of little things

i would dedicate this to someone

but i don't have the time

It can be so annoying. What if a person has slow internet. Then wattpad starts acting up. Things start going down hill.

Sometimes the people you want to dedicate, there name doesn't show up, sometime you have to put @ .

Heck sometimes the dedication doesn't even get saved! It's a rinse and repeat cycle!
