Scriptophobia 

is the extreme fear of writing in public. 

The word Scriptophobia is derived from the Latin word script meaning writing and phobos which is the Greek word for fear or dread.

we all have fears

well most of us do

the only real fear I have is 

anyway

many people have this fear

and i think it mostly stems from the fear of rejection

of having people think that your writing sucks

well

i got news for you

in some ways we all suck

at writing, that is

i remember the very first time i ever played in front of a live audience

i was so sick

there was no way in fucking hell i was going out on that stage

but 

i did

and guess what

i was the only one in the band that didn't freeze

ah the joys of being young and stupid (yes that is a 17 year old Bill)

anyway

i was making a point here

when it comes to writing

as i said

we all suck

in reality

especially to ourselves

and the truth is

you really don't become good until you actually have someone who likes your writing

and guess what

the only way someone will like your writing

is you actually put your writing out there

so the real bottom line here is simple

if you want to write

just write

don't worry too much about grammar and spelling and punctuation and shit like that

just write what is in your heart and mind

the very best you can

just write for yourself

first

and then for others

we all have stories to tell

write

as if you are telling a story

the first step to becoming a writer

is actually 

to write something

the second step is to let others read it
