Chapter 10 - A Guy's Talk
Isaac ditched me yesterday, and while it may seem like he lacked a consciousness - he was quite easy to guilt trip.
Call me a bad friend for manipulating my friend, but honestly? He made it way too easy. So, I used my skills of persuasion to make him get into my car with no idea where I was taking him. Which brought us to the beach.
The beach was entirely empty. It wasn't one of the main beaches - and considering it wasn't the best weather today, it wasn't surprised to find the beach as deserted as a high school after the bell rang.
Isaac couldn't surf. It wasn't an opinion - but a fact. Last time I had managed to coax him onto a surfboard, well - he didn't have a great experience. By that, I meant he was slammed repeatedly by both the waves and the surfboard which he had snapped into half the second his feet had touched the sand.
It was a wonder to me how such an athletic guy like Isaac could manage to get so thoroughly beaten up by a surfboard. An inanimate object. I used to tease Isaac about it, before he broke my nose.
He really needed to work on his anger issues.
Anyways, I hadn't tried to force him to surf for a few months now - but with this opportunity right at my fingertips, I couldn't help myself.
Yeah, I know - I'm a terrible person and blah blah - but who wouldn't do this? Especially if their friends were as easily manipulated as Isaac. Maybe if he learned to say 'no' I wouldn't be taking advantage of him.
That sounded very wrong.
'I don't want to do this,' grumbled Isaac as he glared at the waves slapping against the sand. Glared. What was he glaring at the waves for? They did nothing to him - yet.
'Too bad, hombre,' I said, patting him lightly on the shoulder to which he slapped me hand away. Was the whole Wilder family violent? 'Anyways... let's go surf.'
He scowled.
However, it was a well-known fact that despite his many flaws, Isaac was obedient. He was honest and kept his word - very different from me. He may have a temper on him, but he was way better than me.
He didn't punch random people unless they really pissed him off.
And in a few minutes, I was trying to help a panicked Isaac into the water. Yes, Isaac was panicking. The Isaac Wilder - was almost crying as I tried to force him to actually touch the surfboard.
I think Isaac may have developed a fear of the ocean after he almost drowned last time, but he was fine. I meant; I did manage to drag him out of the waves before he went unconsciousness.
Still, he had been hesitant to leave the car - and by hesitant, I meant that I had to blackmail him to get him to follow me onto the beach.
The video of him rocking out to Baby Shark had been deleted, much to Isaac's gratitude.
'And you'll help me if I fall?' Isaac asked, looking warily into the very large waves. Maybe I should've taken him on a day in which the waves were less violent - but he was already here. There was nothing I could do about this.
'Then you fall,' I said, ruffling his hair much to his delight, as he pushed my hand away. 'I'll save you, duh.' He tried to glare at me, but he couldn't disguise the relief which had spread across his features.
So, very reluctantly, Isaac waded into the sea, and upon spotting the larges waves coming his way - he clambered onto the surfboard clumsily.
I'd rather not tell you what happened next, but Isaac didn't die.
After finally giving up on the notion of teaching Isaac to surf since it would most likely end with his death, we instead swam in the ocean. Splashing each other - doing stupid boy stuff.
And it was fun. Fun, because for once Isaac allowed his defensive borders to be lowered and had fun. Of course, he was still a grouch. That was just his personality, and he did violently kick me a few times - but other than that?
I had a great day.
'This was fun,' said Isaac, as he rubbed his hair with a towel, but uh - it wasn't exactly a normal towel. It had pictures of the same actor all over it - a famous actor from a TV show I never watched before.
'That yours?' I asked, eying the towel, wondering why the hell Isaac of all people owned this towel. Isaac shot me a dirty look as he put the towel down on his lip, though I didn't miss the light flush appearing on his neck.
'It's Jaz's.' I frowned slightly.
'Why does everyone call her Jaz?' I asked. Sure, I did realize it was her nickname - but everyone called her that.
'It's short,' said Isaac shrugged. His narrowed as he looked at me, and there was a hint of accusation in his voice as he spoke. 'Why do you keep following her around?'
What!
'Yeah - I mean I did force you to hang out with her last weekend,' said Isaac, drawling on - which was unusual since the last time he talked this much was when he had been drunk out of his mind. 'But she told me it's not the first time she did something with you. That she got ice-cream with you and even drove him with you after a party. A party when you were supposed to be ride.'
He stopped all of a sudden, his face flushed as he tried to breathe.
Did he just rant?
'Just - stay away from Jaz, will you?' I frowned. He wanted me to stay away from her? Right when I was starting to make progress? When I was starting to bond with her? When I finally realized that I may have feelings for her. 'She's not one of your toys to play with Cameron.'
And I realized how serious he was being as he called me Cameron. Isaac didn't show his emotions, so I only ever knew that he was not mad at me when he called me Cam as he usually.
'She's my sister,' said Isaac, fiddling somewhat awkwardly with his fingers in a way which reminded me too much of her. 'She my twin sister, and I don't want to lose you both.' He sighed, finally turning to face me. 'I know she doesn't seem like the type - but she can fall in love. But when she falls, she falls hard. I don't want you break my heart.'
Even if his words were frustrating me, I couldn't deny how sweet what Isaac was doing. Going out of his comfort zone for his little sister. A true older brother. One who just doesn't beat up someone who showed interest in his sister - though I don't doubt that he would do that if I made a mistake.
'Don't worry, Isaac.' Because her heart is one I will never be breaking.
A/N:
I have too much free time. Literally all I can say.
Anyways... I noticed that a bunch of you are reading this book, but I really recommend that you read the original book. It's got some important stuff in there - but you do you.
Anyways, I'm happy because we're getting really close to my goal of 20,000 words in the book. You're probably wondering 'what the frickety frack Para' but I'm doing this so I can enter it in the Watty's. I feel like this book is more likely to succeed than the original book because eh could be better
I will rewrite the chapters for the other book. But for now, we got this with Cameron's POV.
This does give huge spoilers to the original, but who cares?
I'm just saying though... eventually, I will have to stop updating because I have to keep up with the other book. And for the other book, I'm only up to Chapter 14 - so four more chapters. That's it.
But, I'm looking forward to the arrival of a rival (that rhymed) because I like nothing better than a jealous guy.
So... I went off-topic.
IF YOU WANT ME TO DO THIS BOOK FOR THE WATTY'S PLEASE SAY SO!
Ignoring that, I notice that only a few of the people reading are really commenting. So, I shall encourage you, and I will try not to make an innuendo at each comment.
And right now, I'm totally not asking people for pick-up lines because I'm close to running out.
I lost my virginity, can I have yours?
Cringing. If a guy told me this - I'd be... surprised. Actually I might agree.
Kidding.
Next pick-up line.
Let's play carpenter. First, we'll get hammered, and then I'll nail you.
Yep. They call me the rizzard of Oz, because I've got rizz. (dorky dance move) There's aren't no guys who can resist this awkward pervert charm, because I'm a 100 out of 10. I broke their scale.
These are jokes by the way. Sometimes people have trouble understanding my sarcasm, so I'm just saying that.
Anywho - hope you enjoy.
Oh, and challenge accepted
