Chapter 3

Horror was somewhat having an okay time at this "ball".

Sure he mostly stayed with his brother to keep an eye on him, along with anyone being rude or saying anything bad, at the buffet. Now so far nobody was being well mean to his brother. But he did see a lot of looks that were disgusted, scared, or pity. The pity ones were from other Sans and that made Horror annoyed. It's like they think he hasn't tried his best to protect his brother and turn to this. Well if they knew what he had to do so they can survive, like embrace it and not just not listen to the stories, then maybe they would understand. Along with doing the same thing for their brother to live the next day!

But he does wish they would at least talk to his bro. He is cool, annoying at times when to remind him about certain rules from traps, and a good listener. Not as innocent but still some part of the old Papyrus is still there with him. Of course he thought the costume and mask might help Blood out but seem to make it a bit worse. Along with other figuring out who he is immediately. Just stay far away, let him eat and hope their enough food for everyone else. There was still a plenty of food left. Which was good or else Horror will make some out of the rude guest.

Horror walked away for a bit to just check on the others that's it. Couldn't find Nightmare but knew the boss can take care of himself. Found Killer looking ready to murder a few people and just went upstairs to get some space. Dust was scary anyone if they get to close or wanted to be alone. He join that a few times and was fun. Cross was exploring last time he check. Then he went back to the buffet room and hum a little tune, with his eye sockets closed. Maybe he'll get a piece od steak to chew on.

"BROTHER!"

Horror hears his brother and quite pleased to hear a joyful tone in his voice. A real one in such a long time.

"BROTHER MEET MY NEW FRIEND!"

Wait? Friend? Open his eye socket and stared wide eyed at the sight.

Blood smiling brightly, even with his crooked teeth, and look almost like his old self. On the left side of his shoulder. A small person in a pretty dress and mask was sitting there so comfortable. Blood left hand holding their hand. While the one in the dress other free hand laying on top of their skull.

"ARENT THEY MARVELOUS HORROR! THEIR QUITE VERY NICE AND PRETTY! THEY EVEN GAVE ME THEIR CHOCOLATE!"

"What?"

"I SHARE OF COURSE! CAN WE KEEP THEM HORROR?"

Can only stare in shock to just see that someone willing to be this close to his brother. Let alone touching him. Look them over and his eye landed on the boots and covered legs showing. Then looking at the other body and mask tilting at their direction. So, glad his mask stayed over his face or else they be seeing a blushing skeleton.

"BROTHER?"

Snap out of it and chuckle. "I don't know bro they seem to be a bit to pretty to come home with us. Wouldn't want the others to come after them. "

Especially for food.

"NO, FAIR BUT YOU ARE CORRECT THE NEIGHBORS BEEN VERY RUDE." Tap his chin and look up. "IM SORRY PUPPET AS AMAZING AS MY BROTHER AND I ARE! IT'S NOT THE SAFEST AT THE MOMENT! NOT THAT I WOULDN'T PROTECT YOU."

"It's alright Blood but thank you for the offer. Plus, I don't think Disguise would let me anyway." Puppet answer and pat their head.

"HEHE SUCH A GOOD ONE YOU HAVE!"

"Thank you."

"WELCOM-OH! THEIR BRINING OUT THE NEXT COURSE!" Blood mouth drooled seeing food coming out.

"Hey Bro why not put them down so you can eat."

"HMMM GOOD IDEA AND THAT YOU WONT MESS UP YOUR PRETTY DRESS." Blood put both hands around their waist and lower them to the ground. "I HOPE WE MAY TALK AGAIN! NOW BROTHER DO NOT BE RUDE!"

"Yeah, yeah go eat bro ill join you soon."

Blood smiles big and goes to the food. Horror look at Puppet and ready to see what their up too till they spoke first.

"Your brother very sweet and cool."

Horror stop and stare at them. He pick up the truth from their voice. No, muckiness, pity, or disgust. Just a true genuine compliment. "He sure is. I hope he didn't scare you too bad."

"No, he didn't. He was very much a good skeleton too talk with." Look at them and tilt the head. "Nice mask with the blood stain."

"Oh this." Rub the back of his head and chuckle. "Wanted to make it really authentic."

"Good job."

"Thanks." He look them over for a bit. "Say have we-"

"There you are!"

Horror and Puppet turn to see Sans approaching them. Horror eyes Sans wearily and staying close to Puppet.

"Where Dina?"

"Taking a rest having so much fun hanging around with me." Sans grins and look who by Puppet. "Hiya Buddy."

"Whatever."

"Anyways." Look a little closer at Horror and back to Puppet. "Remember what you said if I find you?"

"A dance correct?"

At that point another song began to play.

"Well." Hand out to Puppet. "Wanna dance?"

"Your date will be fine with that?"

"Maybe a teeny jealous but I'll make sure they are wanted when I get back."

Puppet look at the hand, took it and look at Horror. "Nice talking with you."

"You too and thanks for keeping my bro company." Twitch behind the mask and wanted to summon his axe to slam it in the original head. But the Boss wouldn't like that, neither would his bro. But he stayed quite while glaring at Sans bringing Puppet out the door to the ball room on the dancing floor.

"So, you dance a lot." Sans holding their hand while his other hand on their waist.

"Recently but their usually a bit taller." Held the hand and his other hand on the shoulder.

"Ouch right to the bones." He chuckles and dance with them. "But I am a bit taller than you."

"Touché but much taller than you."

"Ouch again." San spins them around and bring them black close to his body. "So, Puppet huh? A nickname?"

"Yes."

"It's cute but I don't see any strings attached on you."

"I'm a free Puppet."

Sans stared at them and didn't asked but keep dancing. It was nice. He still surprised himself that he wanted to dance. But he like it. A lot. Or possible like who he dancing with. A total stranger. Well can't be stranger if given names.

The music finally stop and everyone clap, till the next song came up that watch catchy and people going in to dance.

"Bro! Come let's dance!" Papyrus running up to Sans and Puppet.

"No, thanks bro I'm so beat out."

"Nonsense you did a slow dance you lazy bones." Look at Puppet. "Pardon my brother."

"Jeez thanks bro."

"He was fine. I'll let you two enjoy this dance."

"Why thank you! Come brother!"

"But-"

Puppet already walked off to let Sans suffer as he dances away with Papyrus. Shake his head slightly and looks at the stairs. Debating and shrug. Might as well check around. Goes to the left staircase and walk up the steps as he passes by anyone going up and down. Glancing down as he watches dancing, playing music and just so happy. Clench his fist a bit and keep going till he made the top. Look down the first hallway he sees and walks away.

He circle around the second floor slowly as he looks down below. Stop now and then at a certain song, notice someone they recognize or just stare down at all of it. So, many people here inside enjoying their party like it was the best thing to happen. Or at the least the meaning behind the paty. Move away and continued onward as they are now at the other staircase. Look down and then back at the hallway with nobody they can see. Think for a few seconds and walk through the hallway.

The hallway had a creamy yellow tone with art on one side. While the other side you past a window, then the wall between and then another window. Kept their head up to look at the right side of the windows. The moon was beaming down and look quite pretty tonight.

Turn ahead and stop to see it was now a wall. The left a long hallway that leads to other doors and staircases going up.

"Oh um hello."

Stood still for a few seconds and turn their head to the right.

It was another a short hallway with just 10 steps reach to the spot. A window staring out to the night sky. The window actually became a cozy window bench. Look like at least 4 people can sit there. One person already was, on the right side, and looking at them.

"Hello?" Outer blinked and look at the surprised guest. He shouldn't be surprise someone came down this way. But was curious too see who came this time. He was taken back at the person appareance. He practically love the night theme dress and can see stars here and there where he was sitting. Put his outfit and other from OuterTale outfits too shame. They were just looking around till he spoke. Then they turn and their mask staring at him.

Silence.

"Hi I like your outfit and mask." Outer smile politely.

"Your from OuterTale."

Outer blink and surprised they figure him out that easily. The voice also catching them off guard as well. Something about it just hit him and doesn't know why. Let loose a weak chuckle. "What gave it away?"

"Color theme and you not denying it."

"Wow all of us must be bad at this." So, far all the AU Sans and Papyrus figured it out easily who each was. Then again same with many copy alternatives. You think to try and hide at least what AU your from. Well besides the lucky few who got away with it or saw them without their masks. Then again also behavior...Yeah really bad at this.

"Hmm a few so far I meet almost got away with it. Till there was interruption."

"Man that not great for them."

"Agreed."

"You want to sit down?" Watch them tilt their head to the side. "To just talk or well look outside. I wanted some peace for a bit and decided to come over here."

No, answer for a few seconds till they walk over and sat on the opposite side of them. "You could have gone outside then for peace."

Outer rub the back of his head. "Yeah could of done that too."

Small silence beween them as they looked out the window together.

"Im Outer."

"Giving it away?"

"Might as well. You?"

"Puppet and it's a nickname."

"Wow you really planned ahead."

"Might as well." Didn look at him during the talk but staring up at the sky. Reach out and open up the window. "Much better."

"Agreed."

After that it was just silence between them as they just stared out into the night sky. The only sound that was made was the music, people inside but it didn't seem to bother neither of them.

"It is beautiful here. Ink did a really good job making this place. The night sky so clear to see the stars glistening and the moon shining. But hate to say it but home will always look better. Your just right there and can see. Plus, well living in it." Outer spoke fondly of his home. Not hearing anything from his new guest and look at Puppet just staring at to the night sky. The moon shinning down on their mask.

"Error would go to your home a lot. Correct?"

Outer startled by the question and look down a bit. "Yeah, he did come to my AU a lot but never destroyed it."

"Did you ever asked him why?"

Frozen on the spot as his mind went back the many times he scene the Destroyer coming to his world. All the times he did came he didn't do anything really just wanted to be alone. But of course Outer did panic the first time. As he remember Ink drawn a picture of Error, the destroyer of AU, and too be careful. So, he was careful and called Ink. Yet, when the time Ink did arrived Error was already gone. Ink just told him he must have been very lucky.

After that nothing for a while of the random visit till he saw the Destroyer again. Same spot and everything. About to call Ink again but stop to see what he will do. If he attacked and destroyed first. But nothing. Just stayed and left. Did the same thing over and over again. One point told Ink and told to just be careful but spy on him if he does anything. That's what he did. Few times he did see him look very damaged but told himself that he deserve it, that it must have been fights from Ink, and keep him occupied. Then his own crazy self-did the foolish thing and talk to Error.

Error only just stared and ignored him.

That caught him off guard thinking he was just going to straight up attack him. But nope just look back looking out into space. He looked just calm, relax and very tired. So, tired. Then left before he can say anything again.

After that he try what he can to slowly get Error to trust him. Well at least talk to him. It was a very, very long process and getting annoyed a bit by Ink about every detail when Error came by or not. He did a lie here and there to Ink face so he can get off his back. Especially when Error began to talk with him. It was nice. The talks were nice and just star gazing.

Then remember one memory. A very fond one that Outer never told anyone.

Outer found Error and he look a bit a little but also annoyed.

"Is everything okay?"

"UnderLust." Error muttered and rub his face. "Just don't understand it and the damn touching."

"Yeah Lust can be a bit much." Outer really wonder what was in Ink mind making that place along with select others.

"I didn't say it was Lust."

Outer look at Error and thought he saw a hint of annoyance from that remark. But pushed it away and felt a little stupid as well. "So, um who did?"

"Some Rabbit monster trying to kiss me, gave me a bit of trouble and just left before he did anything else."

"Yikes." Rub the back of his head. Well he didn't kill him so that good he guess. Even if it was uncalled for.

"So, much to get kiss. What the big deal about it anyway?"

"What a kiss?"

"Yeah."

Stare at him for a while. "You never been kissed before?"

"Who wants to kiss me?" He sighs and look out. "Plus, I rather not my first kiss be in something like that."

"You really never have kiss anyone haven't you?" Given a shrug and Error just look out in the distant. Outer either losing his mind after what he suggested. "Why not I give you a kiss?"

"Excuse me? What?"

"Well why not? You get your first kiss and don't need to worry about it anymore. At least your kiss with someone you know?"

"Doesn't it have to be with a lover or something like that?"

"My first kiss was with Alphys. We were younger and just wanted to see the big deal."

"I bet your Undyne love that."

"Um." Remember when Undyne found out, few years later, and chasing him with meteorites. "Yeah. Love. But it can just be a small peck on the mouth and that's it. That way you know what a kiss is about."

"Hmmm I guess." Error look unsure till he sighs. "Alright only because I'll at least don't have to think about these kisses anymore and big deal about a first one."

"Okay Error." Outer smiling big and come in close to Error. Wait for Error to move till he grumble and moves close. Closer and closer till their mouths met.

It was just a quick kiss.

Error move away first and clench his scarf tightly. Shakes his head, his cheek blush a little and bit mumbling to himself. But Outer barely paid attention but was staring off with a big blue blush on his face and grinning like a fool.

"I guess it was alright."

Outer grinned bigger and soul bounce. Maybe this could work out.

Then bam next thing Outer knows when Error visit again he had this look of hurt and betrayal on his face. Outer was confused and worry. Till Error told him about him finding out he was being a spy for Ink and just using him for information. Outer never was able to find out who told Error but he was so furious that day. But he pushed away and try everything he can to get Error to trust him that some of the intel wasn't even important, and that even lied to Ink as well. Error just left. Outer was lucky if he even sees the monster back at his home but rarely for many years. Unless it was battles he was called in or that last time everyone ambushed Error who then jump in the void.

You're avoiding the question. Did you ever asked Error why he didn't destroy his AU?

"No, no I never asked." Look back out the window. "I really don't know why. I guess I was scared what the answer would be or just wanted to avoid it."

Puppet just stared at Outer and back at the stars. "You said he love the stars."

"Yes."

"Maybe that was enough reasons he didn't want to destroy it. "

"It's possible just wish that was enough to stop him destroying other worlds."

Puppet was silent.

"Speaking of worlds. What AU are you from? Maybe a little-"

"Well, well this is pretty sight."

Outer and Puppet turn to see another skeleton standing not too far away. One Outer recognize even without the mask and clothes covering the chest.

"Killer."

"You all really suck at not revealing who the other is." Killer than look at the other sitting by Outer. "Well except this one."

Outer feels alert and gets up to stand a bit closer in front of Puppet. "Were just talking Killer. So, why don't you leave?"

"Why don't you be nicer and let come join the talking." Took a step. "Besides I'm quite curious about our new guest. I wonder what lies you be telling them about me and my buddies."

"Lies?" Puppet tilt his head.

"Well yes. After all the "good judges" don't always have all the damn information." Killer look at the one sitting down, even with Outer pathetic attempt as a guard, and looking them over. Took another step.

"It's nothing about any of you now go." Outer hand turns in a fist.

"Aww and we about to have a good chat. Now why don't you float back to your moon."

"Puppet and I aren't done talking."

"So, Puppets the name. Hmmm I know someone who made puppets they actually were pretty good." Tilt his head. "Along with not a coward like this little pest standing in front of me."

"Coward?!"

"Yes, a little coward."

"At least I'm not a traitor!"

"Oh you want to go their buddy. You really want to go there you pathetic spy!"

"You don't know shit Killer!"

"Wait don't-"

Killer and Outer rush towards each other and ready to punch the other. They both were ready to let out frustration on the other. Before either of their first hit the other. A whoosh sound was heard. Then suddenly hands grab each of the other wrist, spun and the two were thrown and slam down on the opposite floor.

"No, fighting!"

Outer raised his head up to see who stop them. "Blue?"

Blue had his hands on his wrist. Mask still in place but his eyes staring at them both with a hard look.

"Damn you." Killer growled and glaring up at Blue.

"You two know better and like we said no fighting here!" Blue look at them and then was looking at Puppet direction. His eyes brighten happily and run up to them.

Outer and Killer can only stare wide eyes as Blue hug Puppet happily. Then picking them, swinging them around like a happy child winning a stuff prize and cuddle them.

"Im so happy you came. Why didn't you and Disguise find me?" Blue look at Puppet and pouted. Blue was a slightly an inch taller than Puppet.

"Just wanted to looked around first, we dance, and then did our own things. Thought you be busy."

"As if just been waiting, talking and random dancing."

"Yes, I saw that. Nice chicken dance."

"Hey! It was catchy."

"Blue you know each other?" Outer finally getting up.

"Yep, this my friend Puppet."

"I wonder if his over protective bro knows him." Killer muttered. Outer wonder too as well but questions for later. Then glance at Killer. "Um sorry I was about o hit you-"

"Don't apologize on something you wanted to do." Killer sneering at Outer and his mask didn't cover his face he bet Outer felt that. Plus, the hard look he was giving him gave it away. Look back at Blue and Puppet who just talking even with them here.

"How about we all leave. You know together." Blue looked at the two and smile sweetly.

"Um yeah my bro probably wondering where I am."

Killer says nothing but follows them as they all leave. Killer and Outer glaring at each other. But then sometimes at Blue back as he was chattering away and holding Puppet arm. As they are walking down the stairs.

Then suddenly music picks up and the first sound you hear is a violin.

On the stage was a a average height woman. She was wearing a strapless pastel purple gown that wrapped around her thin body. On the side center was flower holding parts of the dress to be open to see the white underneath. A pair of long point gloves that was pastel. Long red-brown hair in a braid with a pastels flower clips. A pastel purple and white half mask on her face. The violin in her hand and playing with the other musicians playing behind her.

They look out to see a few, not many, dancing on the floor. Just enjoying their time and laughing.

Outer and Killer look at Puppet and then back at each other. A challenge in their eye sockets. Before either of them could get to Puppet, they forgot Blue was still there.

"Oh Puppet lets go dance!"

"FinNWHOAH!" Puppet being picked up as Blue rushes to the dance floor.

Outer and Killer gap at what just happen and watch Blue settle Puppet down. Then they just began to dance like they were having the time of their lives. They look back at each other and a silent truce.

Separate the two.

Blue and Puppet dancing and the two of the picking up energy as they twirl on the floor. Blue let out a "eep" as he was grab and now dancing with Outer. Turn his head and see Killer was dancing with Puppet now. Blue glare at the direction and the back at Outer. Who look a bit annoyed as well as he was dancing with Blue.

Killer holding Puppet as they dance and having a bit of a good time. Of course he was going to double cross that little truce with Outer. Take Puppet and dance. Puppet didn't seem to object but tilt their head confusingly. Killer kept them close and dance away. As he spins Puppet, he was grab behind.

Puppet spin and now in a new set of arms. Look up and surprise to see "Beam" this time. Does this song usually change partners?

Drea-Beam smile happily dancing Puppet and getting to finally be closer to them. Sure he'll probably be hunted down by Killer. Who was seething as he was now dancing with a scared human ready to bolt away. Dream skip jump with Puppet enjoying the music. Didn't last long as he was grab next and dancing with Blue. Who looked ready to toss him. Turn his head and see Outer now dancing with Puppet. Slight twitch behind his mask as he dances fast, with Blue, to get back HIS spot.

Outer smile big at Puppet as he dances away. He was loving this and wish the dancing was on the clouds. Oh! That'll be fun he can see about inviting Pup-Didn't get to finished his thought as he was grab behind and now dancing with wait-Red? Red glare at him too not say anything. Turn his head around and gap who took his place.

Sans whistle to the tune and dance with Puppet. Gave them a wink and earned a snort. Not his type of music but hey another dance with Puppet. Along with watching the craziness with Puppet getting new dancing partners. Seems like everyone else on the dance floor following along. So, why not join along and get the full dance. Class grab at that lost thought and now with Fell Mettaton...Yep, he was going to hurt someone.

Ink had no regret jumping in the dance and holding Puppet close. Why not have a bit of fun with this dance? Plus, bonus sees no Disguise to jump in. Nothing can go wrong! Ink grabbed and now dancing with a Frisk. Ink eye marks turn to exclamation marks and turn.

Nightm-"Mare" smirk at a fuming Ink direction and dance away with Puppet. Look back down at Puppet face mask and held back a shiver of the energy he feels from them. Kept them close to his body and not going to let someone jump in to take his spot.

Someone foot lean in between and Nightmare stumble letting his hold loose. Grab and was being spun around till he was now in the arms with Dance Toriel. What!? Snap his head at the direction and let loose a snarl.

Disguise dancing with HIS Puppet.

Unaware many others feeling the same way.

Disguise lifting up Puppet and the two spin around. Nuzzle their mask together as they finished up the dance with one another. The taller masked figured dance and twirls away avoiding anyone trying to take his partner. It was quite awe sight to watch as he dances away while he was holding Puppet up. Which Puppet didn't seem to mind as they hold on to Disguise closely.

One last twirl with one foot till Disguise place his one last foot down. The music was done.

The crowd watching cheering and clapping at the violinist, the instrumentalist following along, the ones dancing and enjoying the show.

Puppet glance at the stage and sees the violinist better. The mask look oddly familiar as they look at theirbdirection. They stared as the violinist did a bow and leaves the stage for the next song.

Disguise still holding Puppet as he carries them off the dance floor. Many glaring at his direction expect for one as they run off and approach them.

"Disguise."

Disguise turn, as they place Puppet down, and look at the person. "Hello Blue. Quite a show that was. But you lost them quite easily."

Blue pout and cross his arms. "I didn't think they literally steal Puppet from me in a dance."

"Wait that wasn't  part of the dance." Puppet tilt their head.

"Nope."

"Oh joy."

"Sarcasm noted."

The three talking away like it was nothing and just having a good time. Puppet commented about getting a drink for the two and they agreed to it. Get up to go to the drinking stand. Till they bump into someone. "Sorry about that."

Gotten no response but a reaper mask with dark gothic robes stared at them.

Tilt their head getting no response at all. Reach out to smack their cheek. "You alright the-"

"You touch me?" The person sounded very stun.

"Yeah? Well your talking so means your good. Off to get drinks." Walks pass them as they go to their destination. A pair of eyes just staring at them with deep shock.

They touch him.

They didn't die.

So, sad for a few of them to only get a few seconds to dance with Puppet. Well besides Sans.
