"JJ?" Spencer cried as he caught a glimpse of her blonde hair before she spun around to face him.

"Spencer it is you! Are you alright?" She rushed forward, embracing him quickly and then proceeding to inspect him from wounds.

"I-I'm fine. Are you okay? What's going on?"

She nodded swiftly, pulling him behind her, back into the darkness. "I'm fine. I'm not sure what's happening. All I know is that after they dragged you away they took each of us in a different direction and locked us in those weird wooded areas." She rubbed her arms as she shivered.

"Wooded areas? I was in the back of a pitch black dark room. The door was unlocked." Spencer frowned at her surprised expression. "Where were you again?"

"Um- it was kind of like a little court yard. It was really dark, but I could tell there were lots of plants and trees. It was a fairly large area that they fenced in."

"Wait a second. JJ, didn't you say one time that you were afraid of the woods?"

She raised her eyebrows. "Yeah. I did. Why?"

"I was just thinking, you were locked in a wooded area, and I was locked in a dark room, what if this unsub wants us to face our fears."

She leaned her back against the old, peeling wall. "Okay. We did that. Now what?"

He shook his head. "I'm not sure. Why are you afraid of the woods?"

She peered at him carefully. "I don't know. You said you were in a dark room. Why are you still afraid of the dark?"

"Because of the inherent absence of light! Come one." he grumbled as she slapped a hand over her mouth to keep from laughing.

"Sorry." She coughed, following him down the hall. "What do we do now?"

Reid glanced back at her, sighing as he stared into the darkness over her shoulder. "We find the others."
