What's the Point
Imogen
I stayed cuddled in his arms for what seemed like hours. Being in his arms felt like those rare moments when my mother would hug me. He slowly rubbed my back, consoling me and reassuring everything would turn out okay. Finally, the tears stopped trickling down, and I gathered courage to move away.
"I'm going to go talk to Frankie and Drew before we leave," I said, turning around to see my two friends laughing like nothing had happen moments earlier.
"Welcome back, Princess," Drew smiled.
"Don't take this the wrong way, but how are you still alive?" I asked, shifting my eyes between the two.
"Oh, yeah," he said.

"This potion should be able to bring you back to life," Katherine claimed, pulling out a yellow colored potion from her special freezer.
"Should? How big of a percentage do I have of dying?" Drew asked, still weary about the how idea but was willing to try it if Imogen could come back.
"Fifty, Fifty," Katherine said, chewing on her lip.
"Shit," Drew muttered, raking his fingers through his brown stiff locks.
"We can also try another angle," Frankie added, placing her hand on Drew's shoulder.
"No, it's okay. I'm willing to take a chance if it helps Imogen turn back into the girl we all knew," Drew declared with a sparks in his eyes.
*end of flashback*
"I'm so grateful for you. If you didn't risk your life I might still be crazy Imogen right now," I said, scratching the nape of my neck.
I can't believe how evil I became. Maybe deep down anti-Imogen does everything I'm afraid to do?
"Maybe you would still have Lucas, too," Drew commented muffled with a cough to hide his rude response. Frankie elbowed his stomach, narrowing her eyes towards his direction.
"How can you be so insensitive!" Frankie argued. "Freaking leave!"
Drew frowned, but obeyed Frankie probably fearing for his life. When Frankie's angry she tends to release a lot of anger with her fist. "Fine, I can tell I'm not wanted," he said, waving goodbye to us and walking out.
"Frankie, you're probably the only person who wasn't hurt during this whole process," I smiled, feeling relived that one of my friends wouldn't resent me.
"How could you say anything bad about me? I'm freaking amazing," she giggled, pushing her curly locks off her shoulders.
"Oh really? Because I could think about ten things you could change and become a better person," I teased, causing Frankie to scoff at me. "I'm kidding."
Frankie and I erupted into laughter, wrapping our arms over each other's shoulders. Suddenly, Frankie's dementor changed, leaving me confused at what caused her smile to disappear. I followed her gaze and noticed she was watching Katherine being lovey dovely with Rebel. Rebel had finished bandaging Katherine's wound, placing soft kisses on her forehead. She smiled, brightly causing the apple of her cheeks to flush pink.
If only Lucas and I could be like them.
"Frankie is everything alright?" I asked.
"Yeah, why wouldn't it be?" she said, however, the grey aura around betrayed her.
The grey mist around hadn't seemed to rise no matter what I said. Something was bothering her and hopefully soon she will feel comfortable enough to share it with me. Lately, secrets had been held on both our sides and it's time to start being honest with each other like we once were. Our friendship has been moving up and down lately but I'm always here for her.
"Your facial expression changed. . . you know what nevermind," I smiled, not wanting to force the answer out of her.
"I'm sorry about you and Lucas," Frankie pouted, squeezing my cheeks together like mother does to her toddler.
"You heard that," I mumbled.
"Oh, yeah, loud and clear," Frankie frowned.
"Wait if you heard that means Drew did as well. I'm surprised he wasn't more excited about it," I wondered.
"Don't worry he was ecstatic! He peformed his happy dance for me and kept babbling about how you cared so much about him," Frankie explained, imitating his happy dance for me.
"He better not get any ideas. I don't view him as anything more than a friend," I said, immediately face palming.
"Yeah, good luck making him believe that," Frankie teased, sticking her tongue out. "Now, let's go home. We can stay up all night watching Twilight and shoving our faces in ice cream."
"Mint chocolate chip?"
"Of course, Imi! We're going to go buy it now," Frankie smiled, grabbing hold onto my hand.
"Thanks Franks. I would be so lost with out you," I answered, squeezing her hand. "Oh wait, Katherine!" I turned back to stare at Katherine who was sucking faces with my brother.
"Yeah," she said, removing her lips from my brother's.
"What are we going to do about Kai?" I asked.
I dragged this poor boy into my life and turned him into a serial killer. Honestly, I wanted nothing to do with him ever again. He's a memory from a dark time in my past and I would like to leave him there. However, I still felt guilty for dragging him into this awful circumstance.
"I'll think of something," Katherine answered.
---
The sunlight shone through the oval window, lying on the tilted floor like sweet honey. I blinked a few times, in an attempt to help my eyes adjust to the illumination directed right on my defenseless figure.
"Wake up!" Rebel shouted, banging on my door startling me.
This sucks! It's been weeks since I have gotten a good amount of sleep and almost felt well rested. My mind craved to sleep but everytime my eyes close an image of the maid would appear.
"Imogen, I said wake up," Rebel huffed, gripping onto my sheets and pulling them away from my direction. I groaned, fighting back with his hold but he somehow beat me. Sadly, the blanket was my only heat source and now my body was crying from the cold.
I glanced over at my clock noticing it was only six in the morning. Why is he waking me up this early? Nothing is worse than being dragged out of your bed by your two legs.
"You better get you're ass outta of bed or I swear to God I will throw water all over you," Rebel threatened, causing my body to instantly jolt from my bed.
"I'm up! I'm up! But why are you waking me up at six-thirty?" I asked, using my fist to rub the sleepiness away.
"Did you forget school existed?" he commented, dragging in my basket filled with clothes to fold.
"I didn't forget but what's the point? I'm failing and going today wouldn't change anything," I sighed.
Maybe failing wasn't the only reason I didn't want to go to school. I'm afraid the moment I see Lucas's face again I'll break down. Can't believe I finally found my other half only to have him break up with me. Is it bad if I sit and wait for him to come back?
Never in a million years did I expect myself to fail junior year. Sure, I always heard the rumors about junior year being the hardest to get through but I haven't had the chance to fully experience it. Who would have thought my life would have turned upside down at age sixteen.
"I know it's pointless but don't forget the council's rules. They mandatory all students to show up and graduate high school. I've already gotten letters about you missing schools for months they are threatening to arrest me," Rebel explained, rubbing his stressed temples.
"Fine. I don't want you to get in trouble because I don't want to go," I jokely whined, stretching my limbs to the max.
"Wow, so caring of you," Rebel laughed, revealing a cheeky smile. He placed a kiss on my forehead and said, "Breakfast is downstairs ready."
"Did you burn the toast again?" I joked, reaching over for my towel laying on my chair beside my bed.
"No, I made french toast today. Frankie said she loved them so you better hurry," Rebel said, strolling out the door.
Before heading to the shower, I flipped over my phone hoping for something I don't deserve. Sadly, I was right, Lucas hadn't sent one of his loving morning texts today. I stared at my phone screen admiring the picture of my ex-boyfriend smiling and blocking the camera. How is it possible to crave someone so badly.
---
"Rebel, you did not need to drive us all the way to school," I complained, wishing I could afford a car and ditch the bus forever.
"Speak for yourself," Frankie scoffed, pointing down at her stiletto heels.
Apparently, someone dared Frankie to wear the sluttest outfit in her closet. Frankie being Frankie took the challenge and forced me to help her choose an outfit. We eventually came up with silky olive satin dress with a slit leading up to her thigh. I helped her straighten her hair last night and it looked perfect with her outfit.
I wonder if the school will dress code her.
Rebel dropped us off in front of the school, and we walked towards the building from there. Kenny was guarding the front entrance and instantly smiled when he noticed us.
"Oh my god, Imogen it's been months," Kenny said, turning his hand into a fist and holding it up. I gave him a fist pump, and smiled while he opened the door for us.
Instantly, when we entered the school boys whistled and kept staring at Frankie. The one day I wanted to be invisible and she decided to do this. Frankie was enjoying the attention, giving her number out to any boy who asked. I'm praying Lucas is in the library like every day but knowing my luck he probably wasn't.
"Okay, let's go to our lockers before the bell rings," Frankie said, grabbing my hand and helping me through the cluster of students.
It took around four attempts to finally open my locker since I failed to remember my combination. This is why I should keep my important things written in my phone. Thank god, Frankie kept her extra materials in my locker and memorized my combination. Speaking about important things; I don't remember my schedule.
Luckily, I managed to have a photo of my schedule saved in my phone.
Suddenly, I felt two arms wrapped around my waist, placing their head onto my shoulder.
"Imogen, I missed you," he whispered, causing butterflies to explode in my stomach. I turned around, smiling brightly only to see someone who wasn't Lucas.
"Oh. Hi, Drew," I sighed, regretting thinking Lucas would forgive me that fast.
"Are you okay?" he asked, placing his palm over my forehead and checking my temperature.
"Yeah, peachy," I said, swatting his hand away.
"Please forget about that idiot. And smile it makes you look cute," Drew commented, using his fingers to form a smile with my cheeks.
"I don't need to smile to be cute," I added.
"Well yeah that's true but you're cuter when you smile," he said while poking my dimple. I felt my cheeks beaming with heat.
"Let's get to class." Frankie said.
We started walking and Drew put his arm around my shoulders. I kind of got used to it so it doesn't bother me that much. I looked around which I regretted immediately because I saw Lucas staring at us. I felt my body tighten, I wanted to cry. I really feel like I'm missing a part of myself because of him.
I need to try and fix this. I pushed Drew's arm off of me and started walking towards him. Once Lucas noticed I was coming his way he walked down the hall into his class. I signed and felt the tears building up. Why? Why did I have to ruin everything? I lay on the wall feeling defeated. Just as I was about to let the tears out. Drew came up to me and started tickling me. Instead of crying, I started laughing but my tears still flow out, at least I can blame the tickling.
"Drew stop," I yelled
"Fine I just wanted to make you smile," he said and walk into class as I followed right behind him after drying my tears.
----
Frankie and I were heading to lunch and my stomach was grumbling. Usually, I love this period but today I won't because this is the one class I have with Lucas. I tried scanning around looking for him.
Not on purpose but I always used to it. Why am I doing this to myself. Frankie and I went online to get our food. While waiting for our turn I heard some girls in front of us talking about Lucas.
"I think Lucas and Imogen broke up!" One girl said.
"Why would you think that?" The other one responded.
"He would be with Imogen instead of being with Kylie," she said. Why Kylie? She's the same Kylie who freaking dating Drew in the 8 grade when I had a crush on him. It's been a day and he's with another beautiful girl.
I want to hate on her but she's like body goals. She has nice figure that would make boys go crazy. She's super smart a shoo-in for Yale, I can't even hate her but I do. "Hey Imogen did you and Lucas break up?"
I didn't say anything. I just grabbed a chicken patty with an apple, scanned my ID, and stormed out of there. I knew I shouldn't have come, I felt myself about to break down again. On my way out I accidentally bumped into Kylie and Lucas. How irony! Seeing him with another girl completely broke me. I was hoping those girls were just starting rumors.
"Hi Imogen, I like your outfit," Kylie said smirking. I walked away and threw my food in the trash. I ran out of the lunchroom, ignoring the teachers asking for a pass and went into the bathroom. Once that first tear broke free, the rest followed in an unbroken stream. I feel the muscles of my chin tremble like a small child. I'm trembling, I can't-can't stop. Even as I press my head against the wall it shakes, it trembles.
"Imogen, I'm so sorry," Frankie spoke softly as she pulled me to a tight hug. "Let's go home."
REBEL
Emma called and asked to hang out. I never broke up with her which made me feel guilty to be kissing Katherine. I thought today maybe I would be able to tell her I want to end things. She planned a nice picnic with mini burgers and I was bringing the blankets. We were currently laying down on the blanket with her head laying on my chest staring at the clear blue sky.
"I missed you so much Rebel," She kissed my cheek than started placing some kisses on my jaw and neck. I felt slightly uncomfortable because I was use to Katherine's touch. I felt so guilty to be thinking about someone but I can't help it.
"Umm, Emma I need to tell you something," she furrowed her eyebrows backing away from me a little.
"Is everything okay?" I grabbed her hand.
"Not really. I want to talk about our."
"Emma," Emma and I turned our head and notice this guy standing over us. I never saw him before, he had a large physically built, and slight dark tone than me. He looked like a very important person like CEO. He viciously grabbed Emma and whisper something in her ear. I tried to grab her hand but the guy kicked me in the face.
"HEY! DON'T HURT HIM," Emma shouted. I touched my head, wind from the kick. I slowly got up and went to her.
"I'm sorry Rebel I have to go," Emma said she came up to me to kiss my cheek.
"What's happening?"
"I'll tell you when I can," she said. He pulled her arm and dragging her to the parking lot. Is she hiding something? Why can't she just tell me? My mind is consumed by all these questions. I walked home from the park. I got into the house and saw Frankie& Imogen watching tv.
"Shouldn't you guys still be in school?" I said checking the clock which read 12:47. Frankie walks up to me and touched my cheek. I was taken back by her action.
"Yea umm Imogen kinda saw Lucas with another girl," she whisper the ending so Imogen wouldn't hear " What happened to your face?" Frankie looked at me with concern. We have grown a strong bond over the past few weeks.
She walked to the kitchen and went to the fridge. She opened the freezer and got an ice pack. She came back to me and put it on my face. She grabbed my hands and put it on the ice pack. She let out a slight smile.
"Accidentally got hit in the face with a football," she giggled "I don't need the ice it should heal by itself soon enough."
"I just wanted to help." Frankie shrugged and walked to Imogen. I kept using the ice pack since I felt bad from the comment.
