I screwed up

Third Person

He was waiting for the red light to turn green, tapping his finger impatiently on the steering wheel. He groaned, feeling like the light was never going to switch. Drew checked his side mirror, noticing no cars behind him. Perfect! He knew he couldn't risk being followed, especially to where he planned to go.

Drew pulled in the dirt-covered driveway, parking his car as close to the house. He opened his car door, jumping down from his Jeep. He locked his car, pulling his phone from his pocket and checked if he received a message from her. No message, of course, he thought. He strolled down the pathway leading to the abandoned house.

In the old abandoned house sections of the ceiling hang limp in the stagnant air. The oldest residents of that abandoned house were spiders. Many generations had laced the walls with cobwebs of intricate beauty, though now even they lay in dusty rags. Fragments of plaster lie damp over a long untrodden floor, their only purpose to soak in the seasonal rain.

It had been three thousand decades since footsteps had echoed within these walls until she came here. The house had an eerie feeling, like spirits were surrounding him. Katherine has mentioned that over thousands of people have died in this house. The only furniture was an antique pedestal table carved of local oak and upon it a bottle of the finest whiskey and one upturned glass.

Drew walked up to the pedestal, opening the bottle of whiskey and wafting in the whiskey's rich smell. He picked up the glass cup with his other hand and continued walking down the hallway. At the end of the hallway, there was a small wooden door left ajar. He grabbed the knob, nudging the door open.

He stepped down the wooden stairs, causing every step to creak underneath him. Well, there goes the a surprise, he thought. He turned into the dimly light room, seeing two familiar figures arguing with each other.

"You're just mad because I'm better at your favorite game than you are," Frankie teased, covering her mouth to hide her laughter.

"No! I just let you win," Rebel argued, trying to start a new game to prove her wrong.

The batteries from the control must have died because he couldn't click the new game button. Rebel groaned lifting himself from his spot, trailing over to the small table which was filled with their important items.

"Yeah, yeah, sure. I'm just going to beat you again," Frankie beamed, shifting her eyes from the television to the boy standing in the door frame. "Drew? What are you doing here?"

Drew entered the room, having both of their eyes on him. "I've texted you like 5 times and called you," he said, wandering towards the table and placing his whiskey down.

Frankie reached for her phone, finally noticing all the messages he had sent her. She laughed, turning her phone back from mute. "Sorry, apparently someone put it on mute," Frankie said, narrowing her eyes towards Rebel.

"I didn't want your phone to disturb your sleep," Rebel added, switching out the old batteries for the new ones. Frankie's cheeks flushed, feeling heart thump faster than before.

"By the way, Katherine found out that you kissed Frankie," Drew blurted out, unscrewing the bottle and pouring a glass.

Rebel's eyes widened, his hands were shaking causing the controller to fall down to the floor. Frankie sucked in her breath, moving her hands up to move her curls behind her ear.

"How did she find out?" Rebel shakily asked.

Drew took a sip from his drink, gazing at Rebel. "I told her," he admitted. Rebel's eyes narrowed towards him, his jaw clenched along with his fist.

"I was going to tell her at my own time. You know after this whole ritual thing was done with," Rebel said, fighting the urge to punch him right across the face. Finally noticing the already formed bruises on his face. One of his cheeks were bright red, his mouth had a cut on it along with a blackened eye.

"Well, I decided to do it myself. I had to stop Katherine from giving her that stupid ass elixir," Drew explained, chugging the rest of his whiskey. He unscrewed the bottle, pouring himself another glass.

"You clearly don't care about my sister at all! How could you do that," Rebel raged, rushing over to his jacket that was hanging on the chair. He grabbed it along with his keys and started shuffling towards the door. "I'm going to go try to fix this."

"Katherine shattered the elixir, it doesn't exist anymore." Drew nonchalantly said, watching his drink swirling around as he shook it.

Rebel looked back, debating if he should lay a hand on Drew but chose against it. He tilted his head, rushing up the stairs.

Drew moved towards Frankie, grabbing a pillow from the bed Rebel made for her. He placed the pillow next to her and sat down on top of it. They sat there in silence, waiting for either one to speak a word. Frankie played with her fingers, staring down at her lap.

Drew stared at the plain wall, his thoughts consuming his mind and his guilt eating him up. He frustratedly forced his fingers through his brown locks. "I screwed up," Drew announced.

Frankie turned to glance at him. "Yeah, yeah, you did," she commented, "Why did you do it?"

"I just wanted to protect her," Drew sighed, taking a sip from his whiskey.

"You have to learn to respect her decision. You can't keep going like this," Frankie answered, fidgeting with her controller. "I'll do everything in my power to protect her but if she dies it's because of you and you will have to live with it."

Drew frustratedly forced his fingers through his locks, letting out a huff. "I have to do something to fix this. . . Maybe I can convince Katherine to make a new elixir?" he suggested, observing as Frankie grabbed his drink from his grip.

"Did you forget that her sister made that over thousands of years ago? I doubt Katherine has the materials to do that or would want to," Frankie responded, taking a sip from his glass cup. Her face scrunched up, shaking her head and started gagging. "How do you drink that?"

Drew furiously grabbed it back. "Then don't drink it! Now, use your brain and help me come up with a plan. Do you think if I fix the problem that she will get over the fact that I almost cost her life?"

"I think it won't matter because you'll be dead if you think Katherine would do anything." Frankie lifted herself from the floor, walking towards the table. "I don't know what to tell you," she said, stopping in her place when she saw who was at the door.

"Katherine?" She felt the hair on the back of her neck stand up and her heartbeat speeding up. Drew's head almost snapped by how fast he turned around.

"Mmm, just the girl I was looking for," Katherine said with a mischievous smirk plastered on her face. She crept closer towards Frankie, making Frankie back farther away from her.

"Look, Katherine, nothing is or will ever happen between Rebel and me," Frankie said, lifting her hands up in defense, afraid she would attack her. "I only kissed him because of the hold Taisla held on me."

Katherine bursted out laughing, holding onto her stomach from the shaking. She covered her mouth, trying to hold back her laughter. "Little old Frankie, stop trying to act like you weren't in love with my boyfriend. The only one fooled was Rebel. Please have him. You made me realize the mistake I've been making this whole time," she smirked.

Frankie's cheeks were radiating with heat, her hands were getting all clammed up. "N-No I don't like him at all. I only view him as a brother," she confessed. But she could tell from Katherine's expression that she didn't believe it.

"Katherine! See, I have the greatest idea for you to repay me back for telling you about them," Drew chimed in, strolling over to where the two girls were.

"Oh, and what is that if I may ask?" Katherine asked, twirling her black luscious curls with her fingers.

"Make another elixir for Imogen," he smirked, reaching over and rubbing her laced covered shoulder.

Katherine moved away from Drew, stepping closer towards Frankie. Frankie felt her breath hitch every time Katherine advanced. Katherine positioned herself behind her, getting ready for her next move. Suddenly, she grabbed Frankie by her neck, tightening her grip causing Frankie to not be able to breathe.

"Mmm, that seems like a great idea but I think killing Imogen is much better," Katherine teased, feeling her hands being clawed by Frankie's nails. However, she wasn't fazed at her by aggressiveness. The only thing Katherine could feel was the powers she was siphoning off from Frankie.

"Katherine we can reach an agreemen-," Frankie was cut off, from Katherine slamming her head down onto the table.

Katherine removed her hand from her neck, releasing a whimpering Frankie. Pain rushed through her body, her hands instantly reaching up and feeling the dampness coming from her nose. She heard a loud thud when everything occurred and her worst fears happened. Her nose was broken.

"Katherine just calm down," Drew insisted, walking over and placing his hands on her shoulders and benevolently rubbed them. Instantly, Katherine turned around and used the powers she gained to throw Drew across the room into the concrete wall. He groaned, feeling his back crack against the wall.

"Don't ever tell an angry girl to calm down!" Katherine shouted, a bright crimson aura enveloping her entire body. Frankie's eyes widened from fear, she knew what that aura meant because it happened to her.

Drew struggled to get up, using whatever objects around him for support. After a couple of trials, he was able to hold himself up by leaning most of his weight on the wall. The powerful force didn't cause any physical injuries for him but he was already weak from being thrown around by Lucas hours before.

Katherine smirked, chanting a spell onto Drew. Drew noticed his vision start to blur and wasn't able to make out his surrounding. He tripped over his foot causing himself to fall back onto the wall and sliding all the way down.

"What did you do to him?" Frankie questioned, holding her shirt up to her nose. It's during this moment that Frankie wished she knew a spell to make her nose stop profusely bleeding.

"Don't worry I just put him to bed. He's easier to deal with when he's sleeping," Katherine murmured. "Also that's for kissing my boyfriend."

"I told you I was being controlled! If you want to blame someone then blame Taisla," Frankie encouraged, gently feeling her nose and winced each time. Her nose has developed a bruise which was pleasing to Katherine.

"Stop trying to shift my anger towards Taisla it won't work! Unlike you guys, she wouldn't betray me," Katherine argued, her fists clenching.

"First of all, I don't owe you anything. You are the person who killed my daughter. The only reason I dealt with you was because of my friends but if the moment arrives. . . I will kill you," Frankie confessed.

Stephanie deserved to be avenged.

Laughter escaped from Katherine's lip, was she really trying to threaten her. "Why don't you just kill me now then? Huh? I already signed Imogen's death sentence," she giggled, placing her hand on her hip.

"Believe it or not. . . I don't think it's your time yet," Frankie said.

Katherine's heels clicked with every step as she walked closer to Frankie. She leaned down in front of her and raised her hand up to lift her chin. "How cute! You couldn't kill me no matter how hard you try," Katherine teased, pushing Franks' brown curls behind her ear.

"Watch me," Frankie spat, forcing her chin out of her grip. Frankie was fuming but she couldn't do anything to her right now.

"So this how it's going to work. I'm going to take Drew back to Taisla and you will stay here," Katherine smirked, spelling out random words on the floor with her fingers.

"If you think I'm just going to stand here and watch you take Drew. You're wrong," Frankie sneered, lifting herself from the floor. Getting ready to chant the only ancient words that came to mind.

"No, you're wrong," Katherine answered, beating Frankie to the punch. She chanted a new spell that Frankie hasn't heard of her. Causing Frankie's head to ache with intolerable pain, she fell back onto the floor. Holding onto her head, delivering shouts from her lips. Frankie cried out for the pain to stop, feeling her vision becoming blurry.

Katherine smirked as she finished the Latin chant and watched Frankie collapse on the floor. Her disheveled curls were covering her tear-strained face. Katherine performed another spell having a pair of handcuff appear in her hands. She kneeled down in front of her, placing the handcuffs onto Frankie's hands. Another spell escaped her lips and caused a rope to appear in her hands.

She used the rope to tie Frankie's legs to the table. Making sure she couldn't be able to get out of it. Unlike the handcuffs, she gave Rebel, these locked Frankie from using her powers. Frankie wouldn't be able to perform any spells until the handcuffs were broken. Which was perfect since the ritual was happening tomorrow. She won't be able to kill Taisla or save Imogen which is what Katherine wanted.

Katherine walked over to Drew, pulling his body onto her shoulders. He laid there lifelessly, not knowing what she had planned for him. Katherine debated over walking up the stairs but ultimately decided to do a spell. Landing Drew and Katherine into Taisla's secrets chambers.

"I'm back."
