Time: Takes place during second book

Main Characters))
All characters have the same design as they do in the second book, except their eyes are frosted over and they are a bit more disheveled. As for personality, Taube is entirely insecure and, in fact, ripped his own wings off. Oliver is always scared, paranoid, and jumpy. Maya is always angry and snappy. Max is always dazed and confused. All of them have no choice but to listen to Scarlet Mizuku, seeing as they are under her power.

Notable Differences))
Plot: In book 2, the borderhoppers are never able to fight off Scarlet's manipulative powers and end up giving in, leaving them to constantly battle with their worst character flaw, and be slaves to Scarlet Mizuku.

Subplots: The characters are too enwrapped in their own fears to worry about each other.

Side Characters: Scarlet Mizuku is proud of herself and brings the enslaved borderhoppers with her everywhere she goes. Breeze Brann tries many times to free them of her grasp but fails every single time.
