Notable Differences))
Plot: The main four are criminals on Discord Isles, and are being hunted by Valencia, and an evil ice elemental on Black Ice Island.

Subplots: Taube's mad at Oliver for most of the book and Maya is regretful over what happened to Max in the last book. Max is slowly regaining her memories.

Side Characters: Valencia has full red eyes and is completely insane. Wilson Wedwick is a ghost who can only communicate with Maximilian. Scarlet Mizuku is a crazy ice elemental who slowly comes to her senses and Breeze Brann is a helpful, depressed fire halfbreed whose basically the tragic hero of the story.
