The Interview | Dino
Two furries, one job. Well, actually, it turned out that they could both have the job. That was, if they wanted to be partners. Dino stared at Woolf. Woolf stared at Dino. They blinked, but didn't break eye contact.
"Well, what will it be, fellas?"
The two continued to stare for a couple minutes more before turning to the interviewer. Dino opened his mouth and Woolf took a breath to speak, both stopping and glancing at the other.
"..."

[Earlier That Day]
Dino pushed open the door to the building, walking to the front desk. The receptionist looked up from the papers in front of her.
"Yes?"
Dino glanced around nervously. He was a bit of an introvert, so talking to people could be a struggle at times.
"I, uh..." he blinked. "I applied for a job here?"
"Well, you're gonna need to be a bit more specific than that. We have a lot of open jobs right now."
"..."
Dino just stared, fiddling with the string of his hoodie. The receptionist sighed.
"What's your name, sir?"
"Oh! I'm Dino," he said.
The lady squinted slightly, looking over at her computer. "Dinosaur Exe? You applied for technical support, yes?"
Dino nodded rapidly, as that was his full name. It was a little weird, but he didn't really mind.
"Y- yeah. That's me!"
"Second floor, third door to the left. You're looking for Mr. Plio's office... And you're late," the receptionist flatly stated.
"S- sorry," Dino said with an uneasy smile. He then walked to the elevator and pressed the button for the second floor, following the lady's instructions. When the elevator's doors opened, Dino speed-walked to the office he was to be interviewed in.
Dino opened the door and peaked inside. "H- hello?"
"Come in."
Dino walked inside of the room and sat in front of a desk. On the other side sat a bald man with a friendly face and grey-green eyes.
"Y- you're Mr. Plio, right?" Dino questioned with a nervous laugh.
The man smiled and nodded. "You can call me Tom."
"Oh! Well- uh... hi, Tom!"
"Yes, hello! So-"
The door to the office slammed open and another person stepped inside. They had short black hair and what looked to be the ears and a tail of a wolf. To Dino, that wasn't very strange, as he was a literal lizard, but other people would probably be a bit more confused by the person's appearance.
"Uh, hey! Sorry, I uhm-" The person paused and blinked confused green eyes at Dino. "Who..?"
A silence fell over the people in the room. Tom glanced between the hybrid and lizard, at his computer, then back at the two.
"It seems we might have made a mistake..."

[Present time]
"Yeah, I think I could probably work with him," Woolf said. He looked at Dino and tilted his head with a questioning look on his face.
Dino wasn't entirely sure. It seemed that the guy had very little in common with Dino, and Dino wasn't the best at making friends. Then again, if he had to sit next to this guy for months to come, he could probably at least have a friendly bond with Woolf.
"... O- okay, I guess? I mean, multiple people would get the job done quicker, r- right?"
Mr. Plio nodded and gave a smile. "Great! And, again, sorry for the inconvenience. Our company isn't at it's best right now, but hopefully you guys will help with that problem! You two can start on Monday."
Woolf nodded and stood to leave. Dino did the same, following his new partner out the door. /That was the weirdest interview I've ever been to/ Dino thought. He walked back to the elevator and stood awkwardly next to Woolf as the two went back down to ground level.
As Dino opened the door of the building to leave, Woolf grabbed his arm. "Hey, uh, want to go get a coffee or something? Maybe we should get to know each other a bit, since we'll be working together, and we have about a week before we actually have to... Well, work!" he said.
Dino blinked at the man. Actually, come to think of it, the person looked a little more like a teenager, probably 17 or 18. /My age.../ Dino thought. Maybe he'd summed Woolf up too fast.
"S- sure?"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The two now sat a cafe, waiting for their coffee.
"Have you had a job before this one?" Woolf asked.
Dino nodded. "Uh, kind of? I made a couple YouTube videos. They aren't that great."
Woolf blinked, then laughed. "I'm riding in the same boat, buddy! What kind of content do you make?"
"Minecraft... Also a couple memes here and there."
"Same!"
Woolf was smiling brightly as the two talked. When their coffee came, Woolf barely touched it, as he was very talkative and full of questions for Dino. Dino actually kind of liked Woolf. He was funny, and liked to play games a lot, just like Dino.
/Maybe we will be great friends/ Dino thought. He then looked at his phone, checking the time. It was 3:23PM. /I should probably head home now... But I don't wanna leave! This guy is great! I wanna keep talking!/
Dino sighed. "Hey, I gotta go now. Can I get your phone number? Maybe we can hang out another time."
Woolf smiled. "Sure!"
The two exchanged numbers, then said goodbye and parted ways, Dino walking quietly down the sidewalk, Woolf walking the opposite direction of him.
/I've never been good at making friends, but I think my luck might've changed/ Dino though. With that idea in mind, a small smile spread across his scaled snout.
(Alright! Just to make it clear: No, there is no shipping. Maybe a little platonically, but no shipping. Woolf is a minor. He's 17. You don't ship minors, okay? Anyways, chapter one, complete! I can't wait to finish these books, and get to the better parts of them, and I hope you guys'll enjoy reading this as much as I'll enjoy writing it! :D) (Word Count: 925)
