*Three*
The shuttle door opened, revealing a boy with black-blue hair, with a faded bleached streak across the middle of his bangs. He immediately points his gun at Melissa and Blaze, who point their guns back.
"Are you Commander Firewing? I'll take care of these mutts." He growls.
Melissa growls right back, though hers is more wolfish.
"Whoa! Calm down everyone!" I exclaim standing between them. "You must be Ein. I'm Commander Aphmau Firewing, these werewolves are with me."
He lowers his gun reluctantly.
"Yes, I'm Ein. Your here on Michael's orders, right?" He asks, turning to me.
"Yep." I reply.
"Who are your friends?" He asks.
"This is Zane and Travis. The werewolves are Melissa and Blaze." I say, pointing at them in turn. He nods.
"Follow me, I'll show you to where we've cornered the Ultima." He says.
"Your hunting the Ultima?!" Melissa whispers to me.
"Yeah, sorry about not telling you..." I whisper back. She just nods, and goes to whisper something to Blaze.
Ein stops, and points at the top of a tall hotel a little ways away.
"We've cornered him up on the top floor. The only way to get there though is through here, which is extremely exposed. He's been sniping all the soldiers down with help. Not sure who would be crazy enough to help the Ultima, but it doesn't matter. The Ultima needs to die, his helpers can be trialed." He says.
"What exactly did the Ultima do?" I ask.
"He's a dangerous creature. It doesn't matter what he's done, it's what he'll do. Your one of the best out there Firewing. We're hoping you can make it across if nothing else." He replies. I nod.
"When do we go?" Travis asks.
"Whenever your ready." Ein replies.
"Let's go then." I say. My group nods. Ein takes us over to one of the barricades.
"Be careful. That thing is dangerous." He says, before running off.
Melissa reloads her gun.
"Don't shoot me for doing this." She tells us. I give her a confused look. She stands up, and points her gun at the nearest soldier.
My eyes widen when she shoots him, and takes off running with Blaze.
"Melissa!" I exclaim, standing up. Zane pulls me to the side to dodge a bullet from above.
"Let's go!" Travis exclaims, running after Melissa and Blaze. Zane and I follow close behind.
The two of them run into the building, and the three of us follow close behind.
Melissa runs to the elevator and pulls Blaze inside with her, pressing the button multiple times. The door closes on us, giving me barely enough time to skid to a halt instead of crashing into the door.
"Shit!" I exclaim.
"Stairs, let's go!" Travis exclaims. We start running up the stairs.
Halfway up the stairs, a large cement ball rolls down towards us.
"Sorry Commander!" Melissa yells. I look up, and see her run off.
"Get behind me!" Travis yells. Zane and I rush behind him, and he draws his sword, his skin turning ashen gray. The cement ball explodes into dust, and he turns back to his human form, switching back to his gun.
The next obstacle we encounter is lasers. Zane pushes us back a bit, and disappears. He reappears on the other side of the lasers and presses the button to turn them off.
"Neat trick." Travis whistles.
"I'm a master theif, what did you expect?" Zane retorts.
"Geez dude, take a compliment." Travis sighs.
"Shut up, we have work to do." I say firmly. They both stop talking, and follow me up the stairs.
At the top floor finally, we enter a larger circular room, with doors to many other rooms.
"Split up." I say, "Travis, go left. Zane go right. I'll go across."
"Yes ma'am." They chorus, before splitting up and going in the ordered direction. I go across the room, and start searching.
In the last room, I haven't found anything. But there are files on the desk.
No, not files. A diary.
Curiosity gets the best of me, and I open it.
May 30th, 3027
Dammit, I can't believe I let myself get cornered here. Thank Irene Mom and Dad know how to use sniper rifles. Melissa and Blaze have been sneaking around, trying to keep our food supply going and scouting out ways to get us out of here.
I wonder if the Commander is still alive... she's probably dead with the blow I saw her take. I miss her a lot.
I wonder who this commander is... it can't be me, since Aaron is dead... hmm...
I continue reading.

I can't get over her...
This diary is supposed to be about my experiences as an Ultima to help descendants control themselves, but Irene I need to do something about this.
I can't get over the Commander. She's dead, I know it. She would've bleed out in the escape pod with the blow I saw her take.
Irene... it's not like it matters. I'm a monster anyway. She wouldn't have accepted me if she knew.
On the off chance that she is alive, and reading this, I just want to tell her this: "I love you, A-
"Put the book down, and turn around slowly."
I drop the diary, hearing him. Great, now I'm trapped.
Well isn't that just lovely.
I don't recognize the voice. It's rough, deep, and cold, with a dangerous edge in it.
Familiar, but I don't recognize it.
"I said, turn around." He orders again. His voice shakes a little.
"Who are you?" I ask.
He doesn't answer. Footsteps sound, coming towards me.
I feel a presence behind me. Someone puts their arm around my torso, and presses a gun to the side of my head.
"I'm the one asking questions. Not you." He growls, "Why don't you answer that question?"
"Commander Aphmau Firewing." I hiss, pushing his arm out enough and drawing my own.
He pulls away, with a gasp. I whirl around and point my gun at him.
"W-what?" I falter, lowering my gun when I see his face.
"C-Commander?..." he trails off, lowering his own gun.
Tears start building, and I rush forward and hug him.
"I missed you... why didn't you call me?! Or anything?!" I demand.
"I-I thought you were dead! When I saw you get caught in that blast, I was so desperate to get you out safely I didn't think about putting you in the same pod as Zoey..." he trails off, holding my cheek.
"Wait..." I pull away, as realization dawns on me. "Your the Ultima werewolf?!"
His expression saddens, and he nods.
"I'm sorry... I know, I'm a monster-"
I cut him off with a short kiss.
"No, you aren't... your Aaron. I missed you... so much..." I say quietly. Tears start running down my face, and he pulls me closer.
"Travis, Zane, there's been a change of plans." I say into the radio.
"What's wrong? Did you find the Ultima?" Travis asks.
"Yeah, but... well, it's better for you to see for yourself." I say.
I grab Aaron's hand, and bring him out of the room where Travis and Zane are. They both stop dead when they see me.
"Whoa whoa whoa, whoa. Is that Aaron? As in, Aaron who died in the explosion?" Travis asks. I nod, smiling.
"You look kinda stupid smiling like that." Blaze says, popping out of one of the rooms.
"Blaze, be nice!" Melissa pops out of the same room, bonking him on the head.
"Says the girl who threw a giant rock ball at them!" Blaze retorts.
Aaron sighs as they start arguing.
"Where are Mom and Dad?" He asks them.
"Already got them out." Melissa replies, "Thank Irene for Dottie, Rilen, and Daniel."
"Zane, contact Vylad and tell him to send the shuttle to pick us up." I say.
"Why me?" Zane groans.
"Don't complain. Travis, keep an eye outside. Now that the shooting has stopped, soldiers are bound to start coming in." I turn to Travis. He nods and goes to the window.
"Katelyn and Kawaii~chan are on their way." Zane sighs.
"Looks like Ein saw us make it inside, and is waiting for us to come out. We still have a few minutes before they start coming." Travis says, glancing back at us.
"Good. That gives us more ti-" I'm cut off by an explosion. Travis looks back out the window, and opens it. I join him there.
Ein grabs a microphone.
"We're coming in Firewing, hopefully you found the Ultima." He says.
I growl under my breath, and nod at him.
I close the window.
"Travis help me keep the soldiers out. Zane, tell Katelyn and Kawaii~chan to hurry, and then help." I order. They both nod. I draw my gun, and glance at Aaron.
"What?" I ask, he's staring at me.
"Nothing, I just missed seeing you in action." He replies, smirking a little.
Irene, I missed that smirk.
I force the blush down, and turn away, staring at the doors and waiting for the soldiers to start coming in. Aaron comes over, and stands behind me with his gun out.
"I forgot how hot it is seeing you determined." He whispers in my ear, making me turn beet red.
"Shut up and help!" I snap at him. He nods, and flips a table for cover.
I load my gun, and join him behind the table.
"Let's kick some GF ass."
