REYNA'S POV

It's been almost two years since Nico went into a coma, and he still hasn't woken up. It's also his birthday today. I prepared something special, hoping that this would be the day he woke up. I had my doubts, since I had also been hoping he would wake up every day for more than a year.

I couldn't focus on my studies. I lied that it was because I was having problems in the family. It wouldn't be better if I told the truth, because people would keep teasing me.

I listened as attentively as I could to the teacher, then once class was done, I headed straight for the hospital Nico was in.

I was surprised to see that Percy and the others were heading there with me, excluding Piper and Jason.

"Reyna, hey there! We wanted to come with you so that if Nico wakes up, he'll see all of us. Piper and Jace wouldn't come, though. I don't know why." said Percy. Leo waved hello at me, and I waved back.

All of us then arrived at the hospital room Nico was in. The doctor updated us on his status. He said that Nico could now be able to hear us.

NICO'S POV

Darn it, I can't watch anime yet. Wait. I can hear things. I thought.

I was unable to process the people speaking, but I was sure I heard someone say "Nico, you can hear me, right?"

I struggled to say Yes. I can hear you, but I couldn't say a thing. Then, another voice said "Nico. It's Reyna." and when I accepted that I couldn't form a reply, I felt something fall from my eyes. Tears, I remebered. I wasn't sure if the people around me saw the tears.

I hope they didn't.

Then, I heard Reyna speak again.

"Nico, We really hope you wake up soon. It's your birthday today, and I- "

I think Reyna was fighting back her tears when she was saying it.

"I prepared something for you. It would be a waste if you didn't wake up now, right? Right?"

She then broke into tears. I felt more tears streaming down my face. I heard a male voice say "It's alright, Reyna. He'll wake up soon."

Jackson, I thought. Why's he here?

"Yeah, Reyna, he will." said a voice I recognized, too.

Leo.

I heard Hazel say "Wake up soon, Nico." as she stepped closer towards me.

Was she crying too? I wasn't sure. I felt someone's hand on mine. I was surprised to be able to open my eyes. The first person I saw was the person I cared for the most:

Reyna.

I struggled to sit up straight, but I managed to. Reyna was holding a cake. A birthday cake.

"Nico, happy birthday!" everyone greeted. Reyna smiled, and she blushed. Leo grinned, with Calypso beside him. Hazel pulled me into a hug, and Frank smiled slightly.

Percy's arm was around Annabeth's shoulders. I was even more suprised to see Jason enter the room, followed by Piper. They apologized to Reyna, and I smiled. I didn't know why. I blame the Mythomagic-themed cake.

"That was a nice nap, don't you think, Nico?" someone said.

"LEO!" everyone exclaimed in unison. We all proceeded to burst out laughing.
