Chapter Four (4)

||: A Dream Becomes Reality :||

It was like a high speed chase had began. When the police came around the corner I could see a huge grin spread across the "fratello's" face in the rear view mirror.

"Hold on boys, this is gonna be fun!" I shrieked as we made a hard right, almost falling over onto the men to my left. Now I know why they installed these bars. In the passenger seat in front of me, the cheerful man was giggling like an idiot, holding on to the tommy gun in his hands. I wondered how he was not flying around like the rest of us in the car, especially because he has his feet resting up on the dashboard. Must be used to it... I thought with disgust.

"Hey, Lorenzo, call in the plane, we're going back home." He said as we made a quick left. The man in front of me groaned in annoyance.

"Agh, Gabriele, make her shut up. I only want to hear her shriek when I'm the one scaring her." A cloth was quickly wrapped around my mouth and gagged me. Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes as now I could only breath through my nose. Panic settled into my bones as I thrashed around smacking the man next to me, Gabriele, in the face.

"Boss...Do I have your permission to harm her a little?" His voice was dark and dripped with danger. I whimpered through my gag.

"No guns, just knives. I really don't want to waste precious time on extracting the shells from her body." A grin spread across Gabriele's face as he produced a switchblade from his pocket. Cuts quickly appeared over my body, several on my legs, a few on my arms, and at least three or four on my face, one was pretty deep and ran barely over my right eye. My screams of pain were muffled by the gag. The pain coursing through my body made my let go of the safety bar as we rounded another sharp corner down an alley way, sending me flying into the two men sitting next to me. That ended me in getting a knife to the abdomen as my "punishment."

"Oi, Gabriele, I think you've had enough fun. Hurt the goods any more and your life will pay the price. The driver looked back at him with murder and death in his eyes. Gabriele immediately put his knife away. I could see a cold sweat break out on his forehead. A slight chuckle escaped me, despite the situation and Gabriele shot a murderous look my way, his bloodlust leaking out quickly. The one in the passenger seat quickly flipped around, pointing a pistol at his head.

"You heard Fratello, ? Calm. Yourself. Down. Now." I could see half of his face from behind the seat, and he definitely wasn't smiling anymore. That's not good. I closed my eyes tightly, shuddering, not wanting to see someone's brains blown out right in front of me. Upon seeing my reaction the Italian brother put his gun away, and a smile resurfaced on his face.

"Scusa, bella ragazza~ I didn't mean to scare you!" His brother began laughing.

"That's a total lie, you totally meant to Feliciano!" The car suddenly stopped, and I slammed into Feliciano's seat, aggravating my wounds. "Lorenzo, help her walk and strap her down next to my seat. She may be injured, but if she tries to run, you know what to do. Avoid her wounds, there's no first aid until we reach Italia."

With help from Lorenzo, I was sat in the private jet and tied down. As he was instructed, he avoided my wounds. There was a sympathetic look in his eyes, and then he spoke.

"I'm terribly sorry about Gabriele. His wife was taken hostage and killed by your father and his men. I hope you can forgive his cruelness." My eyes widened in anger and I thrashed in my seat, succeeding in loosening my gag.

"My father is a kind-hearted man who devoted his life to his family! There's no way he would have the heart to kill anyone, let alone hurt a fly..." As I continued to talk my voice trailed off into a whisper at the end as I remembered the man with a ponytail that killed my sister, and how he called my father his "little brother." I know now that they were mafia...perhaps he really...no there's no way that would be possible... I fell silent and Lorenzo sighed.

"It's best you get some sleep, we have a long flight ahead of us." With that, Lorenzo left to do whatever he had to do. My eyes began drooping and a small yawn escaped me. A full day hadn't even passed, but today's events have left me with no energy. A factor could be all the blood I've lost. I'll be anemic for at least a week or two with all this blood... My vision began slowly fading as I drifted off into an uncomfortable sleep.

~POV Change~

After everything was loaded onto the plane, my men escorted my little brother and I to our seats. Alessandro, the only member with a pilot license, went into the cockpit and counted down until we took off. Our guns, knives, and swords were placed into the area above or next to our seats.

The woman I instructed to sit next to my seat was fast asleep. She looked extremely peaceful, almost as if she was laying in her own bed. A small 'tch' escaped my lips as I sat down next to her. The countdown reached one, and the jolt from getting off the ground moved the woman's head to lay on my shoulder. I reach a hand to move her off, but stop myself when I see the blood running down her face from her right eye. Bastardo, Gabriele will pay for roughing her up too much when we reach Italia. I allow her head to rest on me and take off my fedora as one of my men brought around wine for Feliciano and I.

I relaxed and stretched out my legs in the first class cabin. Perhaps I should get some shut-eye as well... Finishing my glass, I rest my head back and fall into a deep slumber.

~Back to Normal~

I was jolted awake from the landing of the plane. I reached up to rub my eyes with my bound hands, but flinch and grit my teeth when I rub my right eye. I had forgotten about the injury. When I look to my left, I realise that I had been resting of the boss's shoulder. I quickly jolt away, seemingly waking him up in the process. He yawned loudly and I flinched away from him. He turned his head in my direction and I saw my fearful expression reflected in his piercing olive eyes.

"Fear not ragazza, I will not hurt you. Gabri has already done enough damage." His voice was surprisingly lacking malice, and for just even the smallest second, I felt I could trust him. He helped me out of my seat and out of the plane. Some of his men came over, asking him to hand me over to him, but surprisingly, he shot down everyone of them, and carried me himself.

"Please, boss, I can walk on my own. You don't have to carry me." I pleaded for him to release me, I would not run, I'm bound anyways. He suddenly stopped moving and gave me a sideways glance.

"Don't call me boss, you're not one of us...My name's...Lovino." He said the last bit under his breath, as if he didn't want anyone to hear him. And then, with a wince of pain, I was scooped up into his arms.

"Hey, what're you doing?!"

"What's it look like, I'm carrying you." Lovino said matter-of-factly.

"But I just said-"

"No buts."

It was silent to the new black cars, and on the drive. The car finally stopped and I looked out the window to see a huge mansion. My mouth gaped at the shear size of it. This time, Lovino was not the one to escort me inside. I was roughly handled by some people and shoved down many stairs to a very dark room. I assumed that it was in the basement of the mansion I just saw. I was alone down there in the dark for who knows how long, some of my wounds still bleeding out.

I could hear voices approaching and I began to slowly back up. As they approached I could make out some of their features. Both the same height and I could see a curl on the side of their heads bouncing slightly as they walked towards me. It was Lovino and Feliciano. And they seemed to be arguing in a language I couldn't understand. I could pick out words such as ragazza and . And I knew they were speaking in their own language.

As they closed in on me, I noticed the guns they had in each of their hands. I also noticed that Lovino kept sneaking glances at me as they talked among themselves, but I was unable to read the emotion behind them. They came closer and closer, and I backed further and further away from them. My back hit the wall, and Feliciano stared down at me, with those honey brown eyes and the smile he always seemed to wear. And Lovino glared at his brother and then at me as he brought the hand that was holding the gun to my head.

Suddenly, it all hit me all at once, like a brick in the face. My right eye began to twitch.

"Now little girl, where is your father, Kiku Honda, hiding?" Contrary to how he was treating me before, Lovino's voice held a sharp malice and was as cold as ice.

It seems my dream has become a reality...
