The school, loud as usual with people going to their lockers and walking to class. You sighed as you walked to your locker and unlocked it, spinning the dial to the correct numbers. Pulling on the metal lock caused a click as you took it off and opened the iron locker door.

Binders filled the locker, along with pencils and erasers. You robotically put your bag away and took out all that you needed for class. It was time to go to Mrs. Alphys' class. Locking the locker again, you started for the direction of the class. You then noticed a presence behind you.

"Oh, Hey, Kris." You spoke to the boy once you turned around. The taller male looked at you, brown locks fluttering lightly as his green and yellow striped shirt reflected the light of the hallway. He gave a wave, not smiling as usual. You gave a tired smile.

Kris had been your friend for while now. Ever since he moved here with his mother you had greeted him with a smile and a kind personality. Although, even around you, he never spoke or even smile. You thought he might of just been mute and shy. But you never really knew.

"Let's walk to class together, Kris!" You chirped, falling out of your bleak mood. Kris nodded curtly and pointed to your stuff, asking to carry it. You shrugged and gave him the supplies as you walked by him, telling him about the upcoming project you guys had and who he was going to partner with. Of course, he didn't really answer.

Class had been a bore, Although it got interesting as Susie walked in, being late yet again. Ms. Alphys had partnered the two up for the project, in which case you just smiled teasingly at Kris. Kris didn't reply, just slouched his shoulders a bit. Alphys partnered you up with Noelle and Berdly for a group of three. You just listened as Berdly went on a tangent of how he would rather partner up in a group of three with you than Kris anyways.

Alphys sent Susie to go get more chalk since someone stole it again. Kris had to go with her. You sighed and held your head up on the desk as you listened to Noelle explain the plan for the group project.

You shot up after hearing a loud 'THUMP' from outside the door. You excused yourself from the desk you were at and asked Alphys if you could go check the noise. She gave a shaky nod and you ran to the door, opening it.

There you saw Kris being pushed against a locker by Susie, her jaws unhinged, ready to bite his face off.

"H-Hey! PLEASE STOP!" You squealed as Susie stopped and dropped Kris, looking at you.

"And what are you gonna do about it, Punk?" Susie snarled as you desperately thought of something to say. One thought came to your mind.

"I'll...Tell the teacher. I'll get help. This behavior isn't great for anyone's safety!" You claimed with truth. Susie just grunts and rolls her eyes.

"Of course you will. Well, Whatever. Ya saved your little boyfriend. Big deal. Let's go get some chalk from the supply closet." Susie tsked before walking ahead. Admittedly you were a little flustered about the comment that was made but you shook it off, your cheeks dusted pink.

You walked to Kris and helped him up. Kris gladly accepted your hand as you walked to the closet.

"And everything is blurry from there..." You explained, sitting on the blue tiled floor of the dark castle. "I don't even know where the two are now."

The fluffy goat in green robes hummed a bit. He had found you passed out in the dark dirt and had taken you to his lonely little castle to help you. You thanked him for the hospitality and told him everything you remember from before you came here. He had even served you a slice of cake.

"If they are truly the heroes from the prophecy I told you, Then they should be here soon." The goat replied, rubbing your back softly.

"Oh... I never got your name, please, tell me?" You sheepishly asked the goat boy as he made an 'o' expression then nodded.

"I am Dark Prince Ralsei," He bowed like a prince would, "And you are?"

"(Y/N)...Just call me (Y/N)" You replied, smiling softly. Ralsei nodded and then perked up, hearing soft footsteps come from the entrance of the castle.

"Kris, Susie?" It was hard to tell, but it was definitely them. They were simply in different clothing. Kris looked like a knight and Susie looked like a punk gang leader. Kris turned his head in your direction and dashed towards you, hugging you tightly.
You felt like you couldn't breath for a moment.

"Ugh, Cut it out you love birds!" Susie groaned as Ralsei simply blushed at the scene. Kris stopped and faced the goat, taking a defensive stance.

"Kris, It's fine. This is Ralsei, He is a prince!" You calmed Kris down, he only seemed to grunt. Ralsei clapped his fluffy hands.

"I see the Delta Heros are finally here! Now let me tell you the tale of... The Deltarune-" Ralsei began but Susie had begun to turn away.

"H-Hey wait-!" Ralsei cried, trying to get the attention of the purple girl. It seems she didn't listen. Ralsei sighed but shook his head.
"We'll have to catch up with her, but first! Come with me! I need to show you two how to defend yourself!" And with that, Ralsei ran off.

You started to walk after him, but first you looked back at Kris.

"By the way, Kris. You look amazing in that armor and scarf." You complemented, chuckling as Kris seemed to look away. And for once, You thought you saw the boy smile.

The Dark Fountain flowed, causing the mood to darken ominously as the four of you watched the grand dark king hold up his son, threatening to drop him into the Darkness below.

"Lancer..." You murmured as you watched the frightened boy summon a spade to hit the king. You moved out of the way as the blue spade boy ran through the doors to the throne room.

"Lighteners, Prepare for death." The King declared, his voice a low rumble. You took out your weapon as you watched the others also take out their weapons. It was time to duel.

The King targeted you as you quickly dodged spades fly around the arena. Soon the attack was over and you looked at Kris, waiting for an answer on what to do. He was the leader after all.

You were concerned when you saw him order everyone to attack the king. Ralsei seemed confused and timid at the order.

"K-Kris...I thought we were gonna deal with the king peacefully-" You said, trying to persuade the boy. Kris simply looked at you, hair blowing in the breeze which allowed you to see crimson orbs. You looked away, nodding slowly.

And so, you obeyed his orders. You all hacked and slashed at the king until he slumped over, appearing tired. You backed off, not wanting to kill the king. Lancer said to not hurt him after all.

Kris stepped forward, he hadn't put his blade away. Susie seemed uncomfortable with the odd behavior of Kris surprisingly, Ralsei too. You couldn't let Kris hurt the king anymore than he was, you had to stop him.

"Kris, No!" You yelled as you tackled the boy to the ground, causing him to fall and his blade to disappear.

"Ralsei, Use the Pacify spell!" You screeched as Ralsei nodded and put the King to sleep then turned to Kris, who didn't seem to actually be struggling underneath you. You grunt and hold Kris as you stand up, Kris stayed silent.

"Ralsei, Pacify Kris t-" You gasped as Kris wrenched from your grip and knocked you to the ground, making your vision go a fuzzy black.

You soon awoke, seemingly in a spare classroom. You rubbed your eyes as you saw your green and yellow shirted friend staring down at you with crimson eyes. You squeaked a bit, backing up.

"K-Kris- What happened-? Did all that..." You murmured as you tried to piece together what had happened. Kris said nothing as he reached down, took your hand and pulled you up, right into the chest of the boy. You struggled slightly, still not knowing totally what was going on or what just happened. The boy's grip was strong and stressed, the grip of someone holding their favorite thing that they never wanted anyone touching.

"Kris... What are you doing- I want to go home now, It's late." You protested, Kris just simply nuzzled your head, inhaling the slight scent from your hair. The boy seemed to have murmured something before slightly calming. You still tried to pull away but the boy let out a growl before strongly tugging your hand with him through the door. Soon you two exited the entrance to the school, you were correct, it was indeed late outside. You gasped sharply as Kris pulled you behind the school and pinned you to the wall.

"Listen to me, (Y/N). I have wanted to get this off my chest, I love you. No, Adore you, to the point that you are the reason I go on to live. You are my determination, And I won't let you go." Kris seemed to murmur deeply into your ear before kissing you deeply. Of course you struggled, your best friend was going to do something horrible if you did not do anything.

"Now, (Y/N), Will you be mine, forever and ever~?" The male seemed to purr out as he stared you down. You started to shake your head before Kris shot a hand up and held your head still.

"Silly, (Y/N). Since when did your choices even matter~?"
