Ch.3 Snakebit (Edited)

~3rd POV of the Ninjas~

A yellow light gently caresses the blue sky slowly as it greets the world. The bright glow softly appearing upon the horizon. It shines onto the delicate, small grains that decorate parts of the Earth. The pleasing sun gently smiles as the world replies happily with a kind wave of—

BONG BONG BONG!!

"Evil doesn't sleep and neither should you!" Sensei bangs on a gong, waking the ninjas roughly. This causes Kai to cover his face with a pillow; Zane, cover himself with his blanket; Jay, turn to the side; and Cole, cover his ears as Sensei Wu gives them a morning lecture.

"Okay, okay," Kai gives in, throwing his blankets aside and getting down from his bunk bed, "we're up. But if you want us to reach our full potential, shouldn't we get a full night of rest?" He yawns as he pulls the curtains to brighten up the room, but said curtains fall off.

"You call that rest?" asks Cole as he stretches his back uncomfortably. "I think my back has more lumps than the mattress!"

"We were up...so late, talking about how cool it is to have a new headquarters, I guess we lost track of time," Jay recaps. "Since the serpentine burned down the monastery, I'm just glad we have a roof over our heads—" He doesn't finish that sentence because he is now too busy hacking out the sand he just brushed his teeth with.

"What is our lesson going to be today, Sensei?" Zane asks, ready to continue training. "Mastering the Scorpion? Or perhaps the grace of a— Wha—!?" Zane jumps a bit too hard onto the floor boards that he breaks through, coughing.

"I think today's lesson will be...chores," Sensei concludes, causing everyone to become shocked.

"Ninjas fight, Sensei. They do not 'clean'," Cole says, disliking the idea.

"In order to respect ourselves, we must respect our new home and where we are from," Sensei responds wisely, "and this place is a long way from it. I expect things to be spotless when I return. And put your backs into it." He rings his gong again before leaving.

At first, Kai complains about how long it'll take to clean before Jay hints at an easier way of cleaning. They all understand the hint and use their elemental powers, with the help of their weapons, to take away the garbage. Cole grabs the unnecessary items and takes them out for sale. Kai and Zane work together to get rid of the cobwebs and dust in the room. Jay uses his Golden Weapon to shock the control panels to create some electricity. They then all go outside and clean the outer surface of the ship.

After a while of cleaning, Sensei Wu and Nya return to see their progress. They're surprised to see the Bounty in a cleanliness fashion as the ninjas play video games.

"What took you guys so long?" Kai smirks.

"Wow, this place looks...amazing! You guys did all this?" Nya asks, impressed. She and Wu didn't expect them to do such a good job.

"Well, ninjas don't just fight, Nya. We clean!" Cole states proudly, contradicting his words in the morning on that same day.

"Oh, you have exceeded my expectations," says a very pleased Sensei Wu, "but can you keep it up?"

A beeping horn of a car caught Nya's attention in the middle of Sensei's sentence and looks out the window. She sees a couple on a handmade car, driving towards their new home.

"Looks like we're about to have some visitors," she turns to the group, "and loud ones at that."

"Aww, it's my parents!" Jay whines. "If they start yapping, just don't get them going, okay?" He goes on about how his parents are very social people without realizing that he has that trait, too. This causes Kai to interrupt Jay's ironic rant, whispering about how he is just like his parents. Soon enough, they all go out to meet Jay's parents.

"Mom, dad...! What are you doing here...?" Jay says in fake excitement.

"Oh, look, it's my baby boy! It's been so long since we last heard from you!" Jay's mom squeals, causing Jay to remind her that they called two days ago.

"We-he-hell, it's not soon enough, son! When're ya comin' to tha' junkyard? Heh, ya say yer' comin' and- and ya'- ya don't..." Jay's dad started off chuckling happily, but ends slightly disappointed.

"Dad, do we have to talk about the junkyard in front of my friends?" Jay whispers, whining. This makes Edna, Jay's mom, to explain to the others about why Jay doesn't like to talk about he junkyard. She then proceeds towards Nya and talks about how she is exactly Jay's type, causing Jay to whine again. Nya was slightly flattered, but offered for Jay to give them a tour that they obviously very much agreed with on the spot.

At first, Jay didn't seem too pleased about that idea, but did it anyways. Pretty soon he was showing them in a very dramatic way around the ship, reaching to the bridge that somehow already has a bunch of technology built inside in just a span of a day and two nights.

"If the Serpentine's not giving us the answers we want, and we stay up late at night—" Edna and her husband, Ed, interrupts by trying to figure out the machine Jay is dramatically presenting. "No, it's a cappuccino machine," Jay corrects, showing off.

"Amazing, son! We're so proud of you!" Ed compliments proudly.

"Why don't you tell them about the button?" Cole asks, but Jay says that it's not ready yet. This makes the couple curious as to what the button is. Zane and Kai explain that it is a special defense system that is needed in every Ninja Headquarters. This sparks Ed's interests and offers to help, though Jay refuses his help.

"Hey, look at the time!" Jay says, looking at his invisible watch. "Don't you need to get back before it gets dark? I told you, there's dangerous Serpentines out there!"

"Ah, uh, I supposed we could get back..." Ed says in a bit of disappointment, wanting to stay longer with his son.

"Edna, it was a pleasure hearing about Jay's first potty time," Cole states, putting a hand on Jay's back, teasingly.

"Oh, if you thought that was good," Edna starts up some juicy gossip, "wait until you hear about the story about the time I caught him kissing his pillow...!"

"Ugh, snakes, Ma!" Jay slightly exclaims in embarrassment. "Snakes!"

"Okay, we're going, we're going," Edna says, leaving with a still-slightly-disappointed Ed. Everyone else follows to see them go.

"So you promise to come to the junkyard and visit your mother and father?" Edna asks, making sure Jay agrees, in which he reluctantly does.

"Uh, you headlights are working, right?" asks Jay, only to get blinded with the others by said headlights that answers his question.

"Heh, like 'em?" Ed smirks. "I used a little extra juice!"

And with that, he speeds away with Edna, saying goodbye, though Edna asks him to bring Nya with him. That just makes Jay complain more.

"Now that they have left, perhaps Jay can teach us the art of...kissing...pillows..." Sensei tries not to laugh, but fails anyways, causing the rest to laugh along with him after an embarrassed Jay groans loudly and walks away.

~(Y/N)'s POV~

Lloyd and I are walking through a big forest at night, trying to find the tomb for another Serpentine. This forest reminds me of the dream I had when the Hypnobrai was still under Lloyd's control. We continue walking as go through a gate that has a cemetery in it. This makes me feel extremely tense as I stay close to Lloyd, making him notice me.

"It's not scary, (Y/N)," he tries to reassure me, though it sounds like it's more to himself.

"Yeah because walking around in a big, foggy forest at night with wolves howling in the distance means that we'll see Jesus Christ walking down from the heavens and giving us a mighty sword to punish Satan for his ways," I say fast, sarcastically, and quietly, but he hears me anyways. I mean, I broke his personal space by walking really close to him, of course he can.

I become a very sarcastic, anxious reck when I'm nervous. (A/N: Jay is my spirit animal. I legitimately act like him and it makes me wanna sOb.)

"Okay, maybe just a little," he corrects himself, kind of smiling from my sarcasm, "but...I like scary..! Yeah, that's it!" He turns around and walks backwards while I continue forward with the flashlight, "I'm the son of the Dark Lord, I love the dark!"

I'm the daughter of the Overlord, I'd rather be up a unicorn's as—

"I eat this stuff for breakfast— AHH!!" As soon as he turns around, he screams, which causes me to scream as I point the flashlight towards the thing that caused all this screaming in the first place. Turns out, it's just a tree that has two snake heads. I drop my hand down and look at Lloyd with a bulging eyes that scream, 'DON'T DO THAT AGAIN, OH MY GOD, WHY!? I THOUGHT YOU EAT THIS STUFF FOR BREAKFAST!! HOW COULD YOU!?'

He ignores me from embarrassment and continues forward. He looks at the map, "I'm gonna make those Hypnobrais pay for betraying me. We have to find the Fangpyres."

"Why are we getting more snakes to attack their own people?" I ask in confusion. Wouldn't they just get together and have a big army?

"That's because if there's anything a snake doesn't like, it's another snake," he answers, making me 'Ohh' in realization. I look at the map again, noticing the drawing of a two-headed snake tree that scared me and Lloyd.

"Is this it?" I point at the drawing with my free hand and move the flashlight towards the tree again.

"Yeah, by the mutated tree! We found it!!" Lloyd exclaims happily. He hands me the map then kneels and waves away the fog, showing the carving of, wait for it, another two-headed snake. Is this how the entire army looks now?

"Soon the Serpentine will know who their master is and it will be I, Lloyd Garmadon!" As soon as he finishes that sentence, lighting comes striking down, causing him to cover his head and scream a bit. I should have been scared by that, too, but I just stare in amazement by how that was so perfectly timed!

I blink twice before clapping and giggling a bit, "Now that will get people to tremble in their boots."

He gives me a half-nervous smile before pressing a button on the ground. Our smiles quickly disappear once the tombstone opens. Many snakes immediately jump out and hiss, making Lloyd scream again, waving his arms to try and swat them away. I back away a bit while panting loudly with fear. Once we notice that the snakes aren't flying out the tomb anymore, we quickly turn around and see a two. Headed. Snake. So the general is the only one with two heads right now, interesting.

"And who..." "...may I say released usss..." "...from our captivity?" the general asks, sharing each part of their question.

"U-Uh, L-Lloyd..." he says in a shaky, stuttering voice while picking up the map I dropped. "A-A-And (Y/N)..."

"We- We, uh, r-released you so that we can get b-back at the Hypnobrai f-for— uh— b-betraying us..." I continue, trying not to stutter so much, but fail ever so miserably. Fabulous. It doesn't help that I actually remember reading about this Serpentine's clan. Out of all of them, this clan is the one that interests me the most.

"The Hypnobrai...?" "Those hypnotizing deceivers!" "It'll be..." "...our pleasure!" the general, err... Generals...? Agrees.

"O-Oh, good!" Lloyd says in relief. "W-We'll lead the way. Then after that, there's some ninja I want dealt with," Lloyd explains part of his plan.

"Sounds like..." "...you know..." "...what you want." "But the Hypnobrai are strong..." "...and we are few in numbers." "We need..." "...reinforcementsss!" They say.

"W-What did you have in mind?" asks Lloyd, though I have a feeling I know what they have in their minds as they hiss in response.

Soon after, we reach a junkyard. Well, Ed & Edna's Scrap 'N' Junk, to be more specific. The place really does live up to its name, and I'm happy to see that they own up to it. It's much better to claim a name as your own so that no one else can use it against you, anyways. I thought this was going to be a normal sneak in, create an army, sneak out, but no. The alarms went off, so we had to destroy that first.

The general states that we should stay and wait for the people who live here to come over. He's most likely going to turn them into his army. This junkyard is filled with things that can be great vehicles and weapons! Why do we need to turn people, too...? I feel bad for these 'Ed and Edna' people.

We all hide somewhere scattered across the junkyard when we see a moving vehicle coming over. Is this Ed and Edna? I move a bit to try and see better, causing me to move closer to Lloyd, though neither of us noticed. But what I did notice is that they seem to be an old couple! Not the old people! Aw, now I feel even more bad, but I have to remind myself that this is for Lloyd. I made a deal to be his friend and I'm not backing out now. Well, I kind of forced him into the deal, but still.

The old man, Ed, I think, just crashed his car into a lamppost. Just a tad bit. Small, tiny scratch will appear on the front. Not too big.

"Home sweet home!" Ed says, getting off the car with his wife. "And, back to the grind." He walks towards a big statue, it kind of looks like a...ninja? Is he giving a present to the ninjas as an appreciation gift?

"Oh, sweetie, you've been workin' on that thing day an' night," Edna says.

"Y'never know when Jay may show up!" Ed chuckles. Jay? Is that one of the ninjas?

"Oh, you're right!" Edna agrees in excitement. "Y'never know!" She goes into her, uh, small house with wheels? The small, little building that Lloyd and I are on, or at least that's what I think since I heard the door open and close.

The general makes a sign for his fellow followers to get to work. Lloyd and I look at each other before nodding, looking back at how the scene will unfold. We see a snake dash through, causing Ed to question if it was Edna who passed by. This makes Edna become the curious one and ask if he's hearing things.

"Oh, ya', uh— Ya' turned on the security alarms before ya' left, didn'cha hon?" he asks a bit anxious.

Edna goes to check it, only to see that it might be broken. Oh wowie, I wonder who would even do such a thing. As soon as I finish that sarcastic thought, there was a big bang and lights turn off.

"Whoever's there, my son knows Spinjitzu!" he exclaims.

So his son is one of the ninjas? Interesting. More hisses start to appear and he runs over to his wife.

"What is it?" she asks nervously. "Oh, why are the lights out?"

"Call Jay, hon! Someone's broken in!" Ed worries, but it's already too late.

"How about you wait until he calls YOU!" Lloyd laughs evilly while holding up a broken, big, red macaroni...thing...a-ma-bob, that has a red spinning string under...? I'm guessing that's what a telephone is...?? I really need to catch up on the stuff here.

"E-Ed...!" Edna exclaims in slight fear.

"Be strong, Edna. I won't let 'em hurt you!" he says, glaring at us as he protects her. I let out a small 'awe' and smile with my hands slightly covering my mouth. That's really sweet.

"If we plan..." "...to attack..." "...the Hypnobrai," the general catches our attention, "we need to grow..." "...our army!"

"The Fangpyre is known to have venom that can easily transform anything into another soldier to their army," I inform Lloyd, noticing his questioning expression.

"You are smarter..." "...than you look," says the general before facing his army. "HAVE AT IT, BOYS!!"

On cue, the snakes reveal themselves, hissing and growling. They grab a broken down vehicle and bite into them. They all transform into a bigger, better machine and having those snake-like looks to them. I stare in amazement of how they can do this, but it also scares me a bit. If they're able to do this, just the thought of them biting into anything and turning it into something else is just...wrong.

"My creations..." Ed trembles in realization. "They're turning them into—"

"An army?" The general slithers next to the old couple. "You are correct." "But we can also..." "...turn people, too."

They hiss as the other snakes stalk towards them, causing the two to hold each other, shivering in horror. I...feel so bad for them. These are just sweet, old people. What did they do? I turn around, not wanting to see the rest happen.

I feel a hand on my shoulder and look at who's hand it is—Lloyd. His head is turned the other way, but he still made an effort to try and reassure me somehow. I'm glad he cares. I feel like he knows that I'm smiling while looking at him because he uses his free hand to try and block his face even more with his hood. I just giggle in response.

~3rd POV of the Ninjas~

It's the next day, and everyone is doing their own thing. And by that, I mean Jay is doing his own thing and the others are trying to leave obvious hints for them to visit Jay's parents.

"Sure got a lot of junk piling up!" Kai says, carrying things with Zane. "If only there was a place to get rid of it."

"If you don't mind, I'm trying to focus," says Jay, slightly annoyed.

"Hi, mom and dad!" Cole says into a phone. "Of course, I'd love to visit! What kind of son would I be if I didn't want to—"

"I-I know what you're trying to do," Jay fake-laughs, interrupting Cole's 'phone call'. "Okay, loo-loo-loo-look. I might have promised to visit my parents, but there's a lot of stuff on my plate!"

Right after, Nya comes in. Jay quickly wipes away the oil he had on his face and awkwardly laughs and waves to Nya.

"You gonna visit your parents today?" she asks.

"Oh— uh— S-Sure am! Just about to leave," he responds quickly.

"Tell them I said 'hi'," says Nya, as she leaves just to ask that question. Once she does, the three boys give Jay a disapproving look.

"What?" Jay asks. "So my plate's not that full."

Everyone went outside to go and ride their dragons, but none of them got the response they wanted.

"Come on, Whisp! It'll be a quick visit," Jay tries to reason with his dragon, but they shake their head. "Just in and out. Nothing more."

"Hmm, it is as I suspected," says Sensei Wu as he appears out of nowhere with a questionably large thermometer. "The dragons are molting. They're shedding their scales."

"What does that mean?" asks Jay.

"Every adolescent dragon goes through a transformation before it becomes an adult," Wu informs. "We must allow them to migrate to the east to the Spirit Coves for their transformation."

"Will we ever see them again?" asks Jay, slightly down.

"It is hard to say, but we need to allow them to follow their path," answers Sensei.

"Rocky's going east?" Cole asks in shock and a bit of sadness. The ninjas say their goodbyes to their dragons, respectively, before they set them free.

"Well, I guess I gotta go on this long walk all by myself," Jay says in fake sadness as he walks over to Nya and Kai, but mostly Nya. "Sure be nice to have company," he says in a singing voice.

"Of course we'll go, buddy!" Kai says. (A/N: Except iT WAS COLE'S VOICE. THAT HONESTLY SCARED ME WHEN THAT HAPPENED.)

"I could use a break," says Cole. (A/N: I'm sobbing, wHY ARE KAI AND COLE'S VOICE ALWAYS SWAPPED, AHH)

"All you had to do was ask!" Zane says. Jay just looks at everyone in utter shock as if they did something so repulsive right in front of his salad, then sighs.

Finally, the dragons fly off to the east as everyone walks towards Jay's parent's place. During that time, Sensei plays the sacred flute. Cole looks off at the dragons while Jay complains about losing their ride.

Zane tells Sensei that he never actually explained the use of the flute. Sensei went ahead and explains the history and the use of the flute, then says that the one he is holding is the last of its kind. He proceeds to play it towards Jay right after mentioning that people forgot about what their ancestors can do.

"I get the lesson," Jay says, shrugging it off as he walks in front. "'Respect your elders or else suffer the consequences.' Boy, you guys are laying it on thick."

"Perhaps you are only hearing what you need to hear," Sensei chuckles, though Jay didn't hear what he had to say. At that moment, he is too engulfed by the fact that it's silent.

"What is it?" Nya asks, slightly worried.

"It's quiet," Jay immediately responds, quiet himself. "My family's never quiet." And with that, he rushes in with the others.

~(Y/N)'s POV~

I hear footsteps quickly coming into this place—the ninjas. Everyone is hiding as we wait for the opportunity to leave our hiding spots. The blue one runs over to the big, confined green thing that we somehow kept closed. I was kind of fine with tying them up, but hiding them in a place like that? How low can you go?

Blue did all the talking with the two elders and in that conversation is where I found out that he is actually their son! Regrets is what I am feeling now. I wonder if Lloyd is too, though I really doubt that.

"The bite of the Fangpyre!" an elder with an extremely long mustache and beard says. "Once they sink their teeth, their venom can turn anything into a serpent. It's only a matter of time before the full transformation is complete!"

Lloyd grabs me and pulls me with him to a bunch of, uh... Uhhhh, black-circle-spinning things? The wheels. Of cars. I knew that. Totally didn't forget what they were called.

My thoughts are broken when I feel the rumble of a big ball with a face come crashing down towards the ninjas. I think they're called wrecking balls. Well, they certainly do live up to their name.

"Lloyd!" the long-bearded elder exclaims.

"Hello, uncle!" Lloyd responds, making me look at him in shock. That's his UNCLE? "Looks like we're not the only family reunion! I'm glad you brought the ninja. I could use some help taking out the trash!" He does his evil laugh again.

As the wrecking ball comes down on the ninjas again, I look at Lloyd again with a shocked expression. This shocked expression consists of me having bulging eyes and an awkward, open smile. He looks at me with a questioning face as I point at his uncle, "That's your uncle?"

   "Yeah, why?" he asks.

I take a moment by looking at the supposed uncle before facing Lloyd again.

"He looks like he can be your gREAT GRANDPA," I state dramatically, causing Lloyd to burst out laughing. I couldn't help but laugh out loud, too. I'm still shocked by this fact. I mean, it's cool to have an old uncle, but I don't know about having an uncle that old. I thought babies were made when the parents were young?

   Wait.

How are babies made? I should have read about that, too. I'll ask Lloyd later, maybe he knows.

My attention is taken when someone starts playing this...tune. I look over and see Lloyd's uncle playing on a...stick thing. Whatever it is, it's making really good music. He is making really good music—all I usually do is sing. I want to know how to play that! The only problem with that is the tune is hurting the snakes—somehow. I guess they don't like music like this.

"I don't know, Sensei," the female says as she runs over to him. So he's the teacher. I should have known, oh my god. "I'd say we make a pretty good duet—"

Her sentence was interrupted by a different type of music. I look over at Lloyd and see that he's playing the music. It's playing on this... This... Music playing snake thing. Wow, I didn't even know this was a thing. The music on it could be better, though.

"Young nephew!" Lloyd's uncle exclaims, pointing at him with the music stick.

"Oh yeah, definitely young," I whisper under my breath.

"Must I teach you and your friend whose side you should be on!?"

He is only ignored as Lloyd brings up the volume.

"SORRY, UNCLE!" Lloyd yells. "CAN'T HEAR YOU!!"

The music gets to be a bit too much so I slightly lower the sounds myself, but not too much. Lloyd kind of looks at me as I shrug and sit down. I would be somewhere else right now because the music is a little too loud, but I'd rather stay near him.

A snake appears behind the sensei and was ready to bite him until Edna smacks him silly with a pan.

"Hah! Way'ta go, Edna!" her husband praises. I also praise her internally because of the ridiculous face and position the snake is in.

"NINJA, GO!" the four ninjas exclaim before doing their, uh...uh. Special mmmmooooovveeeee of spinning-nesssss...? And stuff. It's pretty cool, though.

They chase the snakes away to a corner, but something else appears from that same corner—it's the gift Ed was making!

"Ugh! What is that thing?" Jay asks in disgust. Ouch.

"I-It was supposed to be in your honor, son, but uh... Do you like it?" Ed tries to make the most of what his present was supposed to be.

"Thanks, but no thanks!" he responds, running away with his other ninja friends. At least he said 'thanks' about the gift.

~Time Skip 'Cause I'm Too Lazy~

They defeated the giant ninja and were ready to keep fighting, but Lloyd thought that this is enough.

"RETREAAAAT!!" He exclaims as a...helicopter? Comes towards us. Everyone starts leaving and jumping onto their own rides while the general, Lloyd, and I go onto the helicopter.

The general and Lloyd are holding onto the ropes. I'm holding onto Lloyd and my hoodie, y'know, so that it doesn't fall off. He looks like he doesn't seem to mind, which makes me happy to see that he's not covering his face whenever we have some sort of contact with each other physically as much as before.

I don't know why, but being in the air like this makes it a lot better. Well, just being in the air in general makes it better. Having the wind just fly across your face—it's calming.

After a few moments, a fast thing moved passed us. It's blue and has sparks flying everywhere on it. I don't even know what it's called.

"Wha—! What the heck was that!?" Lloyd exclaims.

Whatever it was, it's turning around and going towards us again! At first it was flying straight, but then starts flying everywhere that I wonder if the person flying is alright. We all duck to avoid getting hit and we did, the only problem is that the person in the violently shaking-and-spinning-machine-thing actually managed to grab the staff through all that chaos.

"THE STAFF!!" the general screams at the sight of his lost staff. We turn the other way and try to chase the flying thing-a-ma-bob in the sky, only to see it disappear and have Blue fall!

"W-We have to catch him before he hits the ground!" I exclaim in worry, making the general and Lloyd look at me in confusion as to why I'm willing to help the enemy. "H-He has the staff! It might break if it hits the ground." I try reasoning with them again, and this time it actually works.

They were hesitant, of course, but the thought of the staff made it clear. I see that the other ninjas try to catch him, but end up having their rides disappear, too! I would have been even more scared for him if I hadn't seen another car come driving through. I'm just really hoping that one doesn't disappear, either—and it doesn't! I sigh in relief to see that he won't end up as a pancake. The helicopter flies down towards the army on the ground.

   "EVERYONE!" the general yells. "ATTACK!!"

They all turn towards the three ninjas to attack while said ninjas hold their ground. That is, until the car comes in and takes them away.

"They're getting away!" Lloyd yells, pointing at their moving car.

We then start moving faster, but they were moving way too fast for us. I'm hoping that our helicopter is slow enough for them to make the anti-venom. Those old folks didn't deserve this...

Their ship is now in our line of sight and we're getting closer. Just when we were about to attack, the ship starts...flying?? It has ROCKETS? IT'S ONLY BEEN A FEW DAYS AND THE SHIP ALREADY HAS ROCKETS?? OR WAS IT ALREADY APART OF THE SHIP? HOW ADVANCED IS THIS PART OF THE WORLD??

"No, no, no, NOO!!" He yells but then starts hacking because of the sand flying towards his. I just look the other way.

I was also able to see the staff fall out of the ship! It, uh, slammed onto one of the snake's skull and knocked 'em unconscious. I couldn't help but laugh, causing the two others to look at me.

"So they dropped the staff, which is one good thing," I point to where the staff is, "but when it fell, it slammed onto his head and he fell unconscious!" I then point at said unconscious snake, making Lloyd chuckle.

We fly down to let the general grab his staff back, "These ninja..." "...they must be stopped!"

"Yeah, tell me about it," Lloyd agrees. I nod, for Lloyd's sake. I don't really want to stop the ninjas, they're doing what they can to make the world better, and we're making it worse. I guess I'm like a secret spy for the team, except I'm just supportive of the opposite side. Maybe I can convince Lloyd that this dark path isn't such a good idea.

Wait. What's that sound? It almost sounded like a chuckle, but more...evil. I look around, but it's only Lloyd and the general.

"What's wrong, (Y/N)?" Lloyd asks, but I shake my head and smile.

"It's nothing," I lie, not wanting him to worry, though I'm still glad that he does care. Of course he does, we are friends after all. Friends until the end.
