It had been months since Dio took you in. The castle Dio now resided in was huge, you frequently being dragged along walks with Dio in the dead of night. The rules he set were simple to follow, yet you still wished to escape.

If Dio went to sleep, you would go to sleep with him. This was always during the day, your schedule adapting to a nocturnal one to match the vampire's tendencies. The castle was also filled with zombie guards and lesser vampires, you immediately feeling cautious when you roamed the halls. This went in Dio's favor, for now you would be chased into his arms whenever one of his minions were around.

For the time you've been here, Dio had made sure that you were given food and drink to consume. Whenever you ate, Dio would sit you at a table and sit on the other side of it himself. A wine glass filled with blood would slosh in his hand as he swished it idly, making conversation with you as you ate.

The conversation you and him would have, would be oddly, tame. Despite him being the literal devil of your nightmares, he'd ask how you slept and how you're enjoying the castle casually. You couldn't help but reply, deciding it would be best to stay on his good side while you were here.

"This is better than your old home, isn't it? No need to buy food yourself, it's made, prepared, and brought to you. All for the simple price of staying here, with me." You remember Dio saying to you as he watched you eat, newly crimson eyes watching your every move.

Granted, it was nice to have a big place to reside in, and to be fed, yet your thoughts tend to wander. Your mind slowly thinking about Speedwagon and Jonathan, what they were doing now, and if you would ever see them again.

You felt as if you might not leave here alive, Dio being a creature who loved to trick mortals and play with them like toys. Just because he treated you with more care, did not mean he wouldn't turn on you any minute now. It scared you, yet you couldn't tell what you were more scared of. The fact you would die here, or the fact you would die not seeing Speedwagon and Jonathan again.

"You seem quite out of it, dear, what's going on in that pretty head of yours?" You heard the blonde's deep voice say, you turning your head around to be met with those same eyes.

"It's nothing. You don't need to be concerned with it, Dio." You say simply, feeling the vampire crawl closer to your form sitting on the edge of the bed. Strong arms wrapped around your smaller frame as you were pulled into a cold chest.

"There is nothing to be concerned about as long as you are with me, pet."

"Mr Joestar." Speedwagon asked, looking at the halls of the castle they were in. "Is this the place?"

"She has to be here, this is the only place I would think Dio would bring her. Also, why would he have it so heavily guarded by Bruford and Tarkus if it were not for that reason?" Jonathan mutter, being cautious of the unfamiliar surroundings.

"Do you think she's alright? That monster hasn't hurt her or anything I hope...." Speedwagon sighs, holding a sledgehammer as he follows close behind his companion.

"I pray not, She doesn't deserve this. Dio's a twisted creature, I'll never forgive him for what he's done." Jonathan grits his teeth, he's been training for months to come help you, now was his chance to rescue you from this hellish palace.

"Let's focus and find her."

Dio felt, tense around you, yet also excited. You could just tell by the aura he gave off, you were around him long enough to know that. You were quite scared to be around him still, let you complied with him much more than you did months ago. You had no choice, and you didn't think anyone was coming anymore.

At least, that was until you heard a commotion in the palace. You were going to go check it out, when Dio grabbed you and dragged you to him. You let out a cry in surprise, the vampire's grip tight.

"Where do you think you're going, dear?" Dio grunts, you fearing for your life all of a sudden again. Before Dio could do anything, the door was barged open. You and Dio were on the balcony, and you were in Dio's grasp. Who came through the door, surprised you. Yet, you were happy.

"So you finally make it. I've been waiting Jonathan."

"Dio! Unhand her right now!"

"Who gave you the right to order me what to do?"

You yelp as vampires came out of the shadows, Dio dragging you off somewhere. You kicked and struggled as you heard fighting from the other room, Dio looking down at you.

"So you defy me as soon as they come, huh? Even after all this time? What a rotten human you are."

'You're such a hypocrite...' You think silently, Dio's grip tight on your arm. You could of sworn you heard cracking as you bite your lip from the pain. What of he kills you before you even get a taste of salvation.

Stopping by a room, Dio rummaged through a drawer and pulled something out of it. You moved to get a closer look at it, then froze. You knew what that was, and was terrified what he'd do with it.

"What's that for...?" You ask, praying that he wouldn't do anything with the item in his hand that was too rash. A mask, the mask. The cursed mask that started this nightmare.

He was silent, gripping you again close to his side. You listened carefully to see if Jonathan and Speedwagon were still fighting. Anxiety was heavy in your stomach as you thought you heard silence, yet you then heard two sets of heavy footsteps.

Half of you wanted to scream at them, to get them to leave and never look back. It wasn't safe here, they couldn't take on Dio, and who knows what he'd do with the mask in his hand. Yet, you silenced yourself, you'd be free if they defeated him, but did they have a chance?

As soon as you saw the two men you've been waiting to see in forever, you opened your mouth to scream. However, you never found your voice, for you were blinded and gagged.

Something felt hard against your face, and your heart stopped.

No, it can't be-

A sharp pain was in your gut, and there it was.

Your scream for help had finally released itself from your throat.
