As I'm driving home I notice that there's a car behind me, I don't really think much of it until I'm about to turn into the parking lot where I live so instead of turning I go straight to see if the car will follow me and it does.

I decide to just go home and just call the cops if the person in the car does anything.

So when I park my car I write down the license plate numbers and get out of my car.

A second later Adam appears and asks me why I'd driven around but I just ignore him.

When I got home my phone buzzes.

I look at the screen and it was a text from someone that reads:

Unknown: r u free 2night?

I reply: who is this?

Unknown: it's Theo

Me: ok

Me: yes I'm free tonight

Me: Y?

Theo: just wondering if u wanted 2 go on a date w/me?

Theo: Clark thinks I'm stupid 4 even asking

Me: u want to go on a date with me?

Theo: u can say no if u don't want 2 go

Me: wait a minute I'll text u later I just need to make a call first

Theo: I'll wait

I call Daniela

"hello" She answers in a singing voice

"hey, here's a random question. If the super cute new boy so happens to asks you out would you say yes?" I ask

"I would say yes if I were single. Why? Did someone ask you out?" She asks happily

"maybe" I say and I hear her squeak of excitement for me

"you should go" she says and hangs up.

I text Theo

Me: hey

Theo: so?

Me: sure

Me: when n where?

Theo: The Carnival?

Me: sure

Theo: ok I'll come get u at 6 pm?

Me: sure

Theo: c u then

Me: c u

I can't remember the last time I went on a date that didn't end up horribly.

At 6 pm I hear Adam arguing with someone.

I look out and see Theo talking calmly to Adam who was yelling at him.

"Hey, ginger" I say and Adam looks at me like I'd just insulted him

"what?" Adam asks trying to calm down as Theo gives me a friendly smile

"your 'bodyguard' shift ends early tonight" I say as I lock my door and join the boys

"what do you mean?" He asks getting quite upset again

"you can go annoy someone else somewhere else" I say taking Theo's side

"you're going with that idiot?" He sounds surprised that I prefer Theo instead of him

"or you could stay here until I return" I say and start walking with Theo besides me

"sorry princess but I'm not going to let you leave with him" Adam says and stands in front of me

"that's not your decision to make" I say trying to pass him

"we can do this another time if you'd like?" Theo asks probably thinking Adam is ether my older brother or my ex but he is neither

"you can go 'pretty boy'" Adam says and for some reason he doesn't like Theo, I mean Theo is kind and from what I saw earlier he was calm while Adam was furious

"I'll just see you at school tomorrow" Theo says and escapes before I can convince him to stay.

"You idiot!" now it is I who is angry

"you're going to thank me later on" he says crossing his muscular arms on his chest

"you have no right to control my life because you're not my dad or my boyfriend or my brother so leave me alone" I walk back to my door pissed

"I may not be any of these now but I can assure you I'll be your future one day" he says keeping a steady pace beside me

"in your wildest dreams ginger" I say as I opened my door

"all dreams come true even our wildest ones" he puts his hands between the door so I can't close it

"if so then I'd already been kidnaped, tortured and dead" I say trying to close the door on his fingers

"what if I were the only person alive on earth?" He asks as he opens the door and walks in

"you'd have better luck killing the entire world than getting me on a date" I say as he closes the door.

I called Daniela behind my back so she could come rescue me

"*hello*" says Daniela's voice but not loud enough for Adam to hear

"you really don't think this is a thing?" He asks and looks at my hand

"hi Daniela" he adds as he takes a step towards me and I take a step back

"*Victoria put me on speaking*" Daniela says and I obey

"Adam?! If she says no it means no" she says

"she's just afraid of me that's all plus she was going on a date with Theo" he says ratting me out

"WHAT! I knew she was going on a date but not with Theo!" She practically yells and confusing me

'why does nobody like Theo except me?' I think

'if she doesn't tell me what's been up with her I'm going to have to ignore her until she tells me'

"okay what's going on? Tell me the truth please?" I ask not wanting to lose my best friend but if she can't tell me the truth she isn't much of a friend is she?

"What do you mean?" She asks nervously

"I mean the bruises, cuts and all the lies, I can't take it much longer. You've been lying to me ever since you met Caleb." I say with a tear forming in my eyes

"what are you talking about?" She mutters nervously

"if you can't tell me fine but when you can I'll be at home worrying about you" I say and the tears start running down my cheeks

"Victoria-" she started but I hang up before she could finish.

I wipe away my tears and say "leave please"

I point at the door but Adam doesn't bother

"Victoria?" His voice is sympathetic but I don't care

"can you just please leave? I want to be left alone" I say and look at him my eyes flowing with tears and I'm on the edge of running to him and hugging him as I cry but I resist.

When he leaves I drop down and start crying because I know I might've just lost Daniela forever.

We've been besties since I moved to LA with my dad (that was when I was 9 years old).

10 years have we been best friends and one phone call just ended that friendship forever.
