I wake up on the floor with Caleb on top of me pinning me down

"Victoria! Calm down!" He growls at me

"what...?" I start "get off of me" he lets me go

"that was way too quick" Adam says and looks genuinely scared

"what was?" I ask feeling left out

"nothing" Daniela answers quickly as I stand up

"I've had enough of thi-" I start but my phone buzzes and I look at the screen. It's an address and a specific time, 01:00 am.

"What is it?" Daniela asks

"I'm getting my mom back" I say determined

"and I'm coming with you" Caleb demands

"she said if I'd bring anyone along she'd kill my mom and I'm not risking my mothers life" I say

"I'm not risking your life" he replies but he shouldn't care about me he should care about Daniela not me

"I'd rather die than live knowing I could've saved my mom" I cross my arms stubbornly

"you don't have a choice" he stares determinately at me trying to get me to give up

"I. Am. Going. Alone." I demand stomping my foot like a 9 year old kid demanding candy or a new video game

"Not. Going. To. Happen." He says determinedly also crossing his arms

"I don't need your permission to go alone because you don't know when I'll be going" I say and scrunch my face at him because I know something he doesn't

"I'll be keeping watch on you for the rest of the day making sure you don't go alone" hah, b*tch he doesn't know it's in the morning, or the middle of the night, or whatever after midnight is called, morning, night, don't care, my point he doesn't know it's at 1 am

We stare determinedly at each other both stubborn to get our way before I give in snapping at him "Fine" before I go stomping off to anywhere he's not

"I hate him" I mutter to myself as I walk to my room but remember that I live with wolves who can hear...well, everything.

I get to my room and am about to shut the door when a hand gets in between and I suspect Caleb but it's Zack.

"Stage three, eh" He says with a devilish smile

"w-what?" I mutter

"I suppose they haven't told you what you are yet" he closes the door behind him as he entered my room

"n-no. W-what am I?" I stutter as I back away from him

"a hybrid" he snaps and I fall backwards but he's the only one giving me any sort of answer even though he's scaring the flying crap out of me "a mixture of a wolf, a vampire, a witch and a Mermaid" I crawl back away from him because I know he's here to kill me

"that's n-not p-possible" I manage to stutter up

"yes it is and if I don't kill you now you'll bring the end of my pack" he growls at me as his eyes turn yellow and I hit the wall behind me making my escape much harder if not impossible from here

"p-please. I'm b-begging you" I plead out but he just smiles amused showing his fangs and I'm pretty sure my face drains of all color out of fear

"I promise to make it painless" he says crouching right in front of me and playing with a lock of my hair but the look in his eyes doesn't look very convincing it's going to be painless but excruciating

He opens his mouth to bite me but someone barges through the door and rips Zack away from me throwing Zack across the room

"I thought I told you to stay the f- away from her!" Caleb growls just so stopping himself from cursing as he stands between me and Zack before he turns to dust, when dusty Caleb is gone Zack is about to jump at me when the real Caleb (I think) bites his arm.

Daniela had told me that if a beta is bitten by the Alfa of his or hers or their pack he, she or they will suffer tremendously and it has to be true because Zack falls to the ground screaming his lungs out in agony and I look at Caleb afraid of them both because I've never seen Caleb look at anyone like that, with so much fury his eyes are practically on fire.

"I told you to stay away from her" he growls furiously as Daniela, Adam, Candy and some others appear in the doorway "and anyone else tries something like that gets bitten. Understood?" He stares murderously at the others his voice demanding and husky as Zack is still laying on the floor hurled up and has lost the ability to scream from the pain.
It looks as if he's been injected with a poison that makes you wish for instant death instead of having to go through the pain.

Two of the boys in the group take Zack away and the rest walk away not wanting to mess with me but I know Zack isn't done with me, because if the thing I saw earlier was a glimpse of the future he will most definitely chase after me in the woods at night sometime in the near future.

"Hey" Caleb says and I try to back away from him but forgetting that I've already reached the wall "did he hurt you?" Caleb looks worried at me but I know that Daniela is listening because somehow I can feel her somewhere close. "Victoria, did he hurt you?" I just shake my head hesitant, and for some reason Caleb sighs...in relief, but he shouldn't be he should be disappointed if anything because he and Daniela are meant to be together and he should kick me out of the house and not worry about me.

"Is it true?" I ask as a tear runs down my cheek

"Victoria-I..." He stops and carefully helps me stand up before I sit down on the bed staring at my hands

"am I really a hybrid?" I ask looking at him wishing that I was just a normal human girl with a normal human life

"I-" he starts and stops again before he'd say something that'll only make things worse but it's enough to know that it's true, I'm some freaky mix of a bunch of supernatural things

"I have to find my mom" I say throwing whatever I am to the back of my brain because my mom is what matters now not me

"we'll find her" he assures me

"if I go and she'll drain my powers I'll be normal again and I'll have my mom alive" I say wiping tears away

"it's either you or your mom. If she drains you you'll die because your powers are what has been keeping your heart beating from when you were born" he explains but I don't care

"if I go I'll die. If I don't my mom dies" I say and I don't want to die but I also don't want my mom to die but my mom is more important and I couldn't possibly live with myself if she'd die "I'm going to save my mom" I state determined to save her

"Victoria..." he starts but I cut him off

"no I'm not going to argue about it because I'm going alone either way" I can't let my mother die she's too important to me I have to save her.
