I'm home alone when I hear a little click, I go check it out and the front door is open a little bit. With my heart pounding against my ribs as I close the door carefully.

I stand there for a while not turning around but I eventually turn a round and a man pushes me violently against the door before he covers my mouth  and nose with a damp piece of fabric.

I wake up in panic in my own bed thank god!

But I hear footsteps outside my bedroom door and a shadow appears in the little slit under the door.

The thing is that I live alone in an apartment in LA and I'm not seeing anyone at the moment so the only ones who have a spare key are my friendly neighbors across the hall who are just a old couple and the janitor who is a family friend so he wouldn't disturb me unless there's a killer after him or if he meets me in the halls he'll say hello.

I quickly get out of bed and lock the bedroom door with the two locks that I had planned on getting removed last week. But I didn't thankfully because the person outside turns the knob quickly trying to open the door.

I pick up my phone and called Henry the janitor,
"he-hello? Henry please come upstairs there is someone inside my apartment, outside my bedroom trying to get in" I whisper my voice shaky

"I'm on my way. Go to your window and open it then go under your bed and don't move or make a sound, okay?" He replies and I do what he tells me to do.

"Baby? Are you okay in there?" my mom's voice says but I know it isn't her,
how? Because she lives on a island/country called Iceland which is in Europe, plus it's work season for her and she only visits over the summer, my birthday, Easter, Christmas and I sometimes visit her on her birthday.

"C'mon out your making me worried" says her voice again and I remember when she'd said that,
It was when I came home after my first party.

She had been visiting me and my dad in LA. I went straight to the bathroom and looked the door behind me before I threw up.

And that's why I will never drink again, Ever.

"V?!" Henry calls and I hear the footsteps take off and glass break.

I wait a while until I hear a key jiggling in the lock

"V? There was no one in here" Henry says as he opens the door and I stand up to unlock the other lock my hands still trembling.

The next day I get ready for school like any other day.

When I get to school my friends are waiting for me.

"Victoria!" Daniela calls waving me over.
I get out of my car and walk to her and her boyfriend Caleb.

Her hair is a dark ginger pulled up in a high ponytail, she's wearing a baby blue tank top, denim jeans and sneakers.

"Why didn't you answer my texts yesterday?" Is the first thing she says to me

"Aw nice to see you too, but I was busy" I answer looking at Caleb who gives me a friendly hello nod.

He never says much probably because people are afraid of him but I really can't blame them.

He has dark brown hair, hazel eyes and he's quite tall and muscular, it's kind of funny seeing them together because Daniela is a small girl and he is a tall boy so yeah it is kind of funny.

"Well one month until summer break and then we can finally get you to go out and hopefully dating before our next semester" she says with hope that I'll actually start dating so she can have her dream college years

"I doubt it. I mean we basically just started college last year we were in high school" I say doubtfully,

So I'm not over my last break up with Josh that I'd been with for two years and those two years were full of lies but I stayed loyal until I caught him red handed with my sisters best friend so I ended it right there and ran out crying.
Then three or four days later I heard that he had started dating my sisters bestie and that broke my heart and my trust for all eternity.

"It's been almost a year since the two of you broke up so get over it" she says crossing her arms on her chest

"well I thought he was the one so that makes it harder to get over" I say as we start walking.

"Yo, Caleb!" A boy shouts

"see you at lunch, eh?" Caleb says his voice not too deep but a on the deeper end and it surprises me a little bit every time

"yeah" Daniela says and Caleb walks towards a group of boys

"it can talk" I say sarcastically but to my surprise Caleb hears and flips me off.

I tell Daniela about what happened last night as we walk to class.
